Goodreads Authors/Readers discussion
Introduce Yourself!
A review of Isaac Asimov's last two Foundation novels:He was brilliant but very much a man of his time. He wanted to believe that Humanity was the only sentient species with a culture in the galaxy, ignoring the reality that a culture in its infancy existed beneath his feet--when he was traveling on the ocean, that is.
I'm referring to the Orca. They have a language, they live in tribes, and they are smart enough to know to never, never, never, appear as a threat to us.
One more thing: i think it would be.wise for Humanity to treat them as if they have friends in very high places because they well might have friends in very high places.
I wrote all this on my Air.

Hi! I'm super new. My first book was published last week and the second is almost ready to go. It's an interesting world as an indie writer but I love reading and writing so I hope I'm here to stay!
Hey everyone,I'm Ronny, an unpublished writer, but I'm planning my emergence into the world of fantasy authordom!
I hope to learn some things and meet some people here. Cheers!
Hi everyone! My name is Jenna and I live in North Carolina. I have travelled the world and have lived in Chicago, San Diego, and Los Angeles, but will always call NC home. While I know many women who are addicted to buying shoes, handbags, etc., I have been spared that need and in turn have an addiction to books : ) And with an iPad and Kindle, I can neatly stash my collection into such a small space. I am constantly reading and love to read a variety of books, but in particular I am drawn to historical fiction, some YA, fantasy, memoirs and literary fiction.
I'm always up for new books to review and am somewhat new to goodreads and would also be interested in adding new friends, as I like to see what different people are reading and their insight, and I like to peek at the different shelves to find interesting reads. So anyone interested in sharing their book updates then please add me.

Welcome abroad Jenna! Glad you are here!
Hey there. :)I'm S.L. Gray, not new to writing, but new to urban fantasy and doing this whole publishing thing on my own. I write urban fantasy and fantasy with varying levels of romance, from none to speak of to full on boy-meets-shapeshifting-girl.
Looking forward to hanging out with everyone. :)
Hello!
My name is Nats. It's been 1 day since I last read a book. I intend on continuing that tradition today by reading yet another.
I have been on Goodreads for 3 years, but last year I deactivated my account as I didn't want my reviews and reputation to be associated with what was going on here.
My friends told me the fake reviews/ bullying issues have been sorted out, so now I am back. I look forward to getting to know you all and share some of the great books and authors I have been exposed to.

Hi Everyone,I apologize firstly. I should have posted in here before posting on the main GR Authors/Readers board.
Anyway,
I'm Stephanie or S.M. (I'll answer both or whatever you want to call me :D)
I live in London with my hubby and babies.
I'm a self published author and am currently writing the third book in my MSW series. I love writing romance with, admittedly, lots of sexy bits :D .
Next though, I want to try and write M/M if I can.
I read loads, probably too much actually. I'm on my third reader in eighteen months he he.
Hopefully, I'll make friends here and we can all get along.
Night! X
Hi everyone,I'm Xavier Edwards, an Erotica and ER author from Australia. I began with self-publishing of short stories in May, 2012, and have been publishing progressively longer stories since then, moving into novella territory at the moment, and hopefully full length novels in the near future.
I've been a member for a little while, but haven't had much opportunity to be active in this group (or really on GR) thanks to outside time pressures, but I am looking forward to spending more time on this group.

Hi everyone,I have been an avid reader since my early teen years, and have wanted to be a writer for almost as long. I never really got serious about writing until recently, and now I am enjoying it so much that I do not want to stop. Sadly, I have a full time job, and only get to write on nights and weekends. It started as a hobby, something to do strictly for my enjoyment, but has turned into a self-published book which is now available through Amazon. My first book, a traditional epic fantasy, is called 'A Soldier's Honor'. It is part of a series called 'The Scepter of Maris' and I am hard work on book two.
A Soldier's Honor
Hi Everyone,My name is Amy Kaufman Burk, and I self-published my first novel, Hollywood High: Achieve The Honorable. The story is a fictionalized account of my first year of high school, when I transferred from an all-girls college prep academy to the local public school (Hollywood High) with gangs, over 40 native languages, teen prostitution and terrible violence targeting the gay boys. I wrote my novel in support of the LGBTQ community (I'm a strong ally), and as a voice against bullying. You can check out my novel, or read my blog, www.hollywoodhighbook.com I'm always glad to get connect with readers and other writers.
Best,
Amy
I have been involved in some aspect of education all of my professional life: as a public school teacher, museum director, consumer advisor, workshop and seminar presenter, college professor, and Author of Substitute Teaching Essentials: A Veterans Guide to Becoming a Great Substitute Teacher and Who’s Who: A Veterans Guide for Student Teachers. Soon to release Chole a first in my children’s books.
Is it ever too late? AFter a decade of 'wannabe a writer' - I launched in earnest in May, 2013... I'm Paul, from London, now in Colorado. I mostly read and write non-fiction, my passions are philosophy and science - making those practical for the laity. The laity, in my case, are business people as during the non-writing years, I was a minor-guru here and there - in various disciplines, but most recently in 'people and leadership' stuff.
My first little e-book is called Reboot Your Life - which is something I'm expert at because I've had to do it so often! I have a bigger book seeking a big-5 publisher.
Hey everyone I'm Careese I think I forgot to post when I first joined. Anyways I'm a book fanatic, I'm not really choosy anything I find interesting I'll read. I like to give reviews I feel like it helps the writers a lot, so feel free to have me read any of your works I'd be happy to. Glad to be here :D
Hi! Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Chloe, and I'm a reader and a writer. My favorite all-time is Dean Koontz. But, I'm a huge paranormal romance fan. I self-published my first paranormal romance book "Bare Innocence" last September which is part of a series, and I just self-published the second novel "Cruel Wanting" a few weeks ago. But, I'm still a huge reader, and I love reading anything pretty much as long as it's a great story.
Hello everyone. I'm happy to find this group. My name is Yuuki. I'm a Japanese freelance translator.
I love reading books; especially mystery, thriller and non-fiction about music.
I hope I'll meet great authors/books here.
Hi Everyone,My name is Tom Stoner, and I am currently located out of Boulder, Colorado. This is my first experience on GR, and I'd like to take a moment to introduce myself!
After graduating from Hampshire College and the London School of Economics in the 1980s, I spent my professional career leading three companies in the clean technology space, including one of the original CleanTech venture funds backed by international development banks such as the Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF), a division of the Inter-American Development Bank. I have also led two publicly traded companies: Econergy International PLC, a renewable energy independent power producer (IPP) traded on the London AIM market; and Evergreen Energy, a clean coal technology company traded on the NYSE Arca Exchange.
I consider myself an expert in energy systems and their implementation, as well as in renewable energy and energy efficiency assets. Since the late 1990s, I have devoted much of my time to understanding the science behind climate change, and the relationship between energy, economic policy, and the environment. Over the course of my career, I have raised more than $300 million for global clean energy initiatives.
I tried to write my new book in a way so that anyone could pick it up and understand our current energy system and get a better idea of how it interacts with the topic of climate change. This is my first and only book, and I'm out to see what the world has to say! Thanks, and it is good to be here.

Hi VincentI am TyRenee, author of "Embracing God's Child", http://www.trc38.blogspot.com
This is an inspirational and motivational blog about me embracing all of my trials and triumphs that have come to shape me into the woman of God, the good I am today. This blog is purposed to encourage others to embrace the good within themselves and to count all of their experiences as instrumental in shaping them into the wonderful person they too are. This blog is also written to encourage readers that it's not too late to tap into their God-given gifts to bring their dreams into fruition.
I am also currently writing an inspirational book that is untitled at the moment. It is my goal to have that book, which would be my first, completed and published before the end of the year.
In the meantime, I cordially invite you to follow me at http://www.trc38.blogspot.com Also, feel free to comment.
Hello, fellow Goodreaders, Wayne Marinovich here.I was born and raised on a farm in South Africa, where, as a kid I spent many hours chasing and slaying villains around the place, and could usually be found up a tree or on a roof top somewhere. I was lucky enough to have parents, who left me to read, instead of doing my chores. After school, I got conscripted into the Airforce to complete my 2 years National Service, and there I got into the IT world.
For 25 years, I took IT contracts across Europe, the Middle East, Australia, Southern Africa and the US. All this travel, allowed me to follow my other passion of 15 years, Wildlife Photography. My favourite destinations are the Kalahari, the Arctic and the Wilds of India. Of course I still love Africa and all its splendours, and travel back home whenever I can.
4 years ago, I began working part time on a Trilogy, set against the background of the planet's dwindling resources and climate change. I wrote the second one first, strangely enough, and have just finished the first one - CELT. Although I have published my first of many novels, I am still a reader at heart.
Look forward to chatting to you all.
Travel safe, write well and hope you have great light.
Wayne
Hello All, Hot off the presses. Great Author #Interview here... http://www.indieauthorland.com/archiv... Thanks for the welcome! Michael Jay, Author of DOG WATER FREE
I am JJ or Jaxy, whichever you prefer. I have a blog where I write stuff about things I find online and I consider myself a storyteller. I'm currently going through my old manuscripts to spruce them up and to plaster them all over the Internets. Of course, I am a full-time Freelancer, so I really only do that stuff in my spare time. I generally do content editing and analytics for clients while desperately trying to ignore my rabbits. Seriously, one of them just grabbed my juice carton and ran away with it. Unfortunately, eBay keeps taking down my listings for the rabbits.
Nice to meet you all!I'm the coauthor of Burning Furiously Beautiful: The True Story of Jack Kerouac's "On the Road."
Xavier, I haven't translate books but a guidebook yet. I usually translate websites, articles and sometimes documents. (I just became a paid translator last year.)I hope I'll translate books in the near future. My dream is translating novels and/or books about rock, pro-wrestling and craft.

I also manage book projects for people who don't have time to publish their own book, and do book publishing consulting/workshops to teach people how to publish and market their book for FREE. Greetings Goodreads readers and writers! My name is Jackie Sonnenberg, I'm a YA thriller writer.
My debut ALL THAT GLITTERS made its debut in October and is still collecting favorable reviews. This tells the story of "The Candy Caper," a jewelry thief with a unique calling card--leaving candy at the scene of the crime. He's out on the hunt for an item said to be blessed with ancient magic... if he can find it or get caught trying.
Currently hard at work on my second novel: A YA Paranormal/Thriller entitled GUARDIANS OF LIGHT, a story of paranormal and strange activity on a college campus.
I love being a part of Goodreads and connecting with readers and other writers!
Hello, My name is Anna and I just self published my first book. It's a memoir about one of my horses. I'm not expecting the book to ever be a best seller, but I just needed to get Hobo's story out of my head. He died 7 years ago this coming Monday and I've always been depressed about his loss. The story was really for my own healing process.
Hi My Name is Rick Soper and I write Thrillers. I'm also a very voracious reader who actively writes reviews here at Goodreads. I greatly enjoy talking to people who've read my books, other authors, and the people who participate in discussions here at Goodreads.
My First book was The Rock Star. It's a Thriller that has a whole lot going on. Yes, there is a Rock Star, but there is a also secret groups, mysterious murders, a vigilante, Russian assassins, FBI agents, and most of it takes place near where i grew up in Monterey, CA.
My second novel is part 2 of my Rock Series and it's called the Singer. It picks up where the Rock Star left off with gruesome murders, FBI investigations, a little music, and a lot of violent action. Yes, it's a middle book, but there's a lot that goes on.
The Bainbridge Killing is a stand alone novella which takes FBI Invesigator Jon Stevens undercover to the Island near Seattle to investigate some murders that most people don't think are murders
In the overall timeline it come before the action in the Rock Star
The King is another Jon Stevens novella that focuses on the hunt for a kidnapped Billionaire. It bounces back and forth between the current investigation and the events and people that led to it. It's basically young love gone horribly wrong... it's a bit graphic in places
I'm currently finishing up my Third full length Novel called The Stage, which is the final book in the Rock Series that answers all the questions that were left after the other two books. It should be out within the next few weeks

Your site and covers look interesting, but somewhere on there you need to give and idea of price ranges on what you're putting together.
Hi, my name is Karen and I live in the North East of England, with my one 6 year old son. I am currently working as a middle school teacher, and have recently published my first novel, The Sacred Emerald. It is currently only available in Kindle format, both to purchase, and on the lender's library.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00I6TQCL...
It is a middle grade fantasy novel, focusing on the journey that an eleven year old boy and his twin sister must undertake in order to return back to their home safely.
I would appreciate it if you could leave a review, and if you like it, possibly recommend to others. No pressure of course.
Thanks in advance
