Carol Burnside (carol_burnside) | 5 comments Hi, everyone (waives)!
I'm Carol Burnside (real name), also known on GR as Annie Rayburn. Since GR doesn't mesh pen names yet, I'm kinda starting over, establishing a new profile and such. But most of the books I read will be listed under Annie Rayburn. Who has time to re-do a whole library, right?

I've been an avid reader since the age of three and a serious writer for the last ten years. Looks like this group is the place to be. :-)

C. McDonald | 1 comments Hello Vincent, My name is C. McDonald. Having finally discovered how to join the group you've set up, I hope to become an active member.
I live in Surrey, a very leafy county in England. I've been writing off, and on, throughout my life, and am also an avid reader, time permitting. I'm hoping to put the first book of a fantasy trilogy - Noor - on the site, once my very slow graphic artist has completed the cover of "Atrament Speaks". If anyone is interested, they can have a look at a brief outline of the story on my blog. The second volume of the trilogy "The Sphalerite of Almandine' is complete, and I'm currently working on the third book "Footprint of a False God" as well as near to completing a crime thriller with a working title of 'Skin and Bone".
Once I've stopped going round and round in circles, trying to work out how to read previews many authors have left of their work, (which makes me sound like a dummy, though I do find the site very confusing), I'll read and comment.
Finally, please to meet you.

Andromeda Bliss | 3 comments Hello, pleasure to be here. I'm a new erotica author, just released my first short on Amazon, and I'm working on getting my name/work out there. I appreciate having a forum like this to connect with other authors and readers, and discuss books of all shapes and sizes.

My own favorite reading genres are erotica (of course), romance, scifi, fantasy, paranormal, suspense, and most especially mixes of all of the above. :)

Carlos Viola | 2 comments My name is Carlos Viola. I am originally from Argentina. I finished my first novel: "Black Lion" just a couple months ago and is now available.

Black Lion (Harris & Johanssen Publishers, Inc.), tells the story of Mike Harris, a fearless U.S. Army major and member of the dreaded Desert Lions, an elite group within the Special Forces and feared by the enemy.

When America declares war on terrorism after the cowardly attacks of September 11, 2001, the president issues an order that makes every resource and top technology available to Mike Harris and his Desert Lions, assigning them the job of traveling the world with the purpose of eliminating all the terrorist elements of Al-Qaeda that threaten to disrupt world peace. Mike knows that his skills and expertise, and that of his band of courageous men, will be tested to the max once they are thrust into the shadowy world of covert operations.

What Mike doesn’t anticipate is falling in love at first sight with Marcie Johanssen, a rich and beautiful Danish heiress, who unwittingly gets dragged into the deadly struggle that is about to be unleashed in every corner of the globe.

In Black Lion, readers are alongside these brave heroes as they are plunged into the vivid and real world of deceit, secrecy and clandestine operations; sharing the ride with this elite group as they navigate their way through many deadly circumstances in a pulse-pounding, explosive plot that keeps readers anxiously turning pages!

Thanks Vincent for starting this group.

Carlos

I love to read, especially mysteries. But I just finished a bio on Rod Serling. Loved it. I'm writing a mystery right now. Not as easy as it is to read them. I've also written a fiction about a girl growing up during the Depression and WWII. Not published, but trying to get it published.

Hi C. McDonald - I had a little trouble with the site originally, too. I found for a string like this one, the easiest way to navigate is pick a page (pages show up at the bottom after the last comment on a page) and start there. If you jump to an author's page or link, either use the back button on your browser or remember the page number where you were and start again there.

The alerts are helpful to pick-up new comments in the thread. You can set them on individual threads like this one or on the whole group.

At any rate, welcome.

Carolyn Holland (CarolynHolland_author) | 20 comments Hello,
My name is Carolyn Holland. My husband and I run a small business from our home. Now that the kids are all grown up, I am pursuing my dream to be a writer. I published my first book in July,Seeds of Transition and am currently working on the second.
These are fiction works based on very real problems today, a burgeoning population and the challenges facing agriculture due to climate change. The setting is 2057. Because of the futuristic flavor of the books and the introduction of some sciencey solutions to our food crisis, we have decided that it fits multiple genres. Science Fiction, Dystopia and speculative.
I am an avid gardener, a minimalist by nature and I LOVE the outdoors. I feel more at home in the forest than I do anywhere else.

S.A. Check (sacheck) | 7 comments Hi...I'm S.A. Check and I enjoy writing Science Fiction and Fantasy novels, which is fortunate because I have a new book out with Bedlam Press, an imprint for Necro Publications, a leader in modern horror fiction, urban fantasy, sci-fi, weird westerns, and humor fiction.

What if while walking towards that final white light you saw a door? Would you take it? What if you didn't have a choice?

Welcome to GreenGrass is a sci-fi fantasy adventure exploring what happens when a police officer from Earth is thrown into an alien city, trapped beneath an invisible dome, and forced to find a killer, when all he wants is to find a way home.

Some early reviews hail it as "Men in Black meets interplanetary Columbo" "a darkly humorous edge" and "combines elements of J.K. Rowling, R.L. Stine, and Mickey Spillane into a wholly original tale."

Shoot me a tweet @S_A_Check or visit my blog over at sacheck.blogspot.com or author profile at necropublications.com
Thanks for having me!! Great Group!

R.m. Nicholls | 2 comments Hello everyone, lovely to meet you all

I'm an avid reader of thrillers - I'll also occasionally read a little YA especially fantasy. I'll be looking through this group to find more thriller authors to add to my TBR pile!

I published a fast-paced thriller with a strong female lead titled 'Bleeding Heart' by R M Nicholls which is a 99c ebook on kindle. I've just finished the first draft of the next book in the series and am doing my first redraft at the moment. I also blog about London occasionally - at thebestthingsinlondonarefree.com

I'm new to this group, new to goodreads, and new to publishing my work even though I've been writing since I was a tot. I'm looking forward to learning from the more experienced authors here and discovering your work.

John Brooke (LionelBrooke) | 8 comments I read therefore I write. My name is John David Lionel Brooke, a mouthful, why? Beginning to write, found hundreds of John Brooke and John D. Brooke authors. Used my given names to differeniate myself.
Differntian in this tsunami of published books is my goal. Changing perceptions of readers, is my niche. Express life events that become humorous turning points of self awarness.
My first novel is not another memoir. Its a reflection a mothers negative influence on her son for evermore.
Mother Lode, my is my first novel in a trilogy, the eBook and paperback are available on Amazon. Mother Lode (Book 1) by John David Lionel Brooke

Brian Hutchinson | 2 comments Hello everyone. My name is Brian Hutchinson, author of the new Fantasy series, Tales from Calencia. I recently released the first book in the series, Locmire's Quest: Book One. Although the book has only been on the market for a little over a week, it is getting great reviews from readers that I sent free copies to. In the beta process, all of my beta-readers really enjoyed the experience I provided them. If you like Fantasy books such as Lord of the Rings, Narnia, etc.. I think you will enjoy this book series.

Here is the link to the e-book, I also have a trade paperback version available. I hope you enjoy.

S.J. Hitchcock | 2 comments My name is Sarah, I am 36 and I am both a reader and an author. I recently re-released my first book with a new publisher here in the UK, called Dream World.

I am a full time mother to four children, and work part time in a pre-school, so as you can imagine my days are very busy. I fit my writing in when I can. As I said book one is now on sale, for 11 more days, and when I am not promoting this book, I am editing book 2, and writing book 3, and of course a few shorts too, that I plan to publish after Christmas. I cannot believe how fast this year has flown by.

I hope next year to have both book 2 and 3 released, and then I will be working on the remainder of the series, there will be around 9 in this series. And I have a few stand alone novels in various stages, as well as another 5 part series outlined. So many books that I in the pipeline, I need time to write them all...but I am taking one at a time.
