Welcome Brittany. Also a big thanks to your husband. I am a Vietnam Vet and although sometimes I disagree with our government for their choices of war I still volunteered for service. I look forward to viewing your work.

I'm Chrystal Vaughan. My debut novel, Sideshow, has just been released into the wild. I like to read books that are of the Stephen King/Dean Koontz type genre, and then anything else with words on it. My writing genre is sort of paranormal horror, and I'm working on the second book in the Sideshow series. I've got three planned in total, and there's a YA paranormal romance type book I'm working on, plus the insane asylum book, and the three children's books that need illustrators. When I'm not writing, which is rare, I'm reading, knitting or spinning a different kind of yarn. I'm excited to find a group of authors and readers cohabitating together on Goodreads. I'll be checking out some of the books and authors I see on here for sure! Thanks,
Chrystal Vaughan

I'll be letting my daughter know about your books! Thank you for writing them.

Thanks Mark and believe me, I'm with you there! I don't think the system is perfect by any means. Thank you for your service!
Hello everyone,I'm an independent author of fantasy and urban fantasy. I have two series currently completed and am working to put out even more entertaining works out there for others to hopefully enjoy.

Hi, I'm Skye and I have been reviewing books for about 10 years. Mostly dog books but also some children's book and books about war (mostly Afghanistan). I have reviewed for regional publications and international training organizations as well as my newspaper, website and smaller newsletters. Thanks for letting me in!
Hello, All,My name is Bret James Stewart. I am an avid reader, author, and editor/proofreader/ghost writer. I have written one novel and around 500 shorter works. I have published a decent number of articles, a short story, and some poems.
I write about an even amount of fiction and non-fiction. I love fantasy, though I write most anything except technical stuff. I am currently working on a poem cycle entitled, "The Wisdom of Trees," reviews for my hiking review website, www.blueridgehiker.com, a non-fiction book about Gorges State Park in North Carolina, and a non-fiction book about the overlooks of the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia and North Carolina.
I design games, too. I've completed two board games and own a game company called Dungeoneer Games which produces gaming materials for the classic editions of the Dungeons and Dragons game (the website is in temporal stasis until I complete the two above non-fiction works--and, yes, the "temporal stasis" is an intended pun for those of you who play D&D).
I also offer editing, proofreading, and ghost writing and related jobs from my Elance account: https://www.elance.com/r/contractors/....
I am looking to engage with the Goodreads site--I love this site--in any way. I read, of course, and write reviews. I would like to take on jobs if you need my services. I would like to do a few gratis reviews in exhange for free books (I'm not interested in having many of these due to time constraints). I also have a couple of my books in the process of being published (no date, yet), and I will promote them on the site when they are available.
I look forward to interacting with everyone on here.
Blessings,
Bret James Stewart
Hello, I'm new to goodreads and everything that goes with it. I'm learning and exploring the site. My first historical novel has been published and is up on Amazon. My stories are a little different – I tell them with alternating chapters, taking the reader from one century to another and back. I'm fascinated with myths and legends and how they influence the lives of people, especially in New England. Looking forward to connect with the talented people in this group.

Hi, Barbara
I love the skull artwork. You have a great idea. I also love folklore and mythology. I use it a lot in my writings, both fiction and non-fiction. I cut my teeth on Bulfinch and stories about fauns and centaurs. This is part of what made me love the Narnia books.
I look forward to talking with you on the forums. There is a lot of good information here, I am learning.
Blessings,
Bret

Hi there! I'm Clarissa Monte! I'm...well, actually I'm better known by another name, but for my most recent project I've had to assume a daring alter ego. I'm still the same old crazy-typing coffee nut that I was before, though! Nice to meet you all!! (again)More Than A Maybe

Hi Bret,
Thanks for your comment. I'm going to try to be active on this site as much as I can...sometimes all the social media is overwhelming. All I really want to do is tell a story and write. Then again, it's nice to hear about other writers and readers and all of their adventures and miss–adventures.

Hi everybody.I´m about to publish my first novel and I want to make a trailer like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=riGFyt...
As I do not have many resources, I'm looking internet pages where anyone can get off some royalty free music that can be used in the presentation of the book that I´m going to make on video. Does anybody know of any one?
Thanks.

You have provided a top-notch synopsis. I am hooked. I would love to read your book. I will gladly provide a public review on Goodreads or Amazon or wherever in exchange for a free copy as long as it doesn't need to be done immediately. I can do it over the next couple of weeks, if that is okay. Just let me know. I wish you all success with your novel.

I recently finished a Masters degree in Media Psychology and I'm currently a freelancer, specializing in social media management and design (websites, graphics, book covers, etc). I haven't really been able to immerse myself in the author community because of my school commitments but now that those are finished I'm hoping to make some connections and maybe make a few friends!

My nom de plume is Karen GoatKeeper and, yes, I'm a goat keeper, have been for almost forty years now. I raise Nubian dairy goats in the Missouri Ozarks.I love to write. My favorite topics are goats (wonder why?), nature and science (I taught high school science.).
Most of my writing seems to be on the middle grade level. I write both fiction and nonfiction. This year I finally self published two novels through CreateSpace, Amazon, Kindle and Smashwords.
I love participating in NaNo (National Novel Writing Month) and am buried in a melodrama/movie serial format novel this month.
My reading is an eclectic, whatever sounds interesting variety.
This is the first reading group I have ever joined. The group sounds interesting. Due to time constraints I will only check in once a week but look forward to finding out more about the group.
