Hey there, my name is Josie and I absolutely love to read. I read mostly YA,NA paranormal romance and contemporary romance but I will read a good mystery or other story if it sounds interesting. I am looking forward to connecting with of you all, as I don't have many friends who seem to read, so there is no one I can vent, cry, or talk about my books too, lol! Happy Reading!
I write and illustrate children's picture books for kids up to the age of eight, both fiction and non-fiction. I have five books published by Oak Tree Press and four self-published. All are available on Amazon where my books may be viewed. My self-published books are all non-fiction about wild animals with photos I took on Safari in Africa. While my Oak Tree books are all fiction, most are based on factual information about butterflies, animals or actual events. My two latest books, "When Caterpillars Dream" and "Butterfly Girls" are both about Monarch Butterflies. Inspiration for my stories often come from young children who have vivid imaginations and are a constant source of inspiration. Thank you for this opportunity, Berylwww.berylreichenberg.com
Hi everyone,I've been on GR a while, but recently discovered this group. I've always enjoyed reading and have been writing for some time. This year, my debut collection of short stories was released on Amazon. The book is called Bombay Bhel.

Hi!
My name is Catherine Feeny. I am the author of four novels published by Hodder & Stoughton, and my latest, a romance entitled Flower Girl, recently came out on Amazon Kindle, where it will be available free on October 18th and 19th.
I currently live in Lincoln UK, and with the leaves starting to fall it is beginning to get to the time of year when we can see the cathedral from our house, though we hear it chime and the bells ringing throughout the year.
I teach Creative Writing and also work as a journalist and writing short stories and drama for radio. I read constantly!

I am pleased to mention that all four of my books are listed on goodreads. My motivation for writing is writing itself. The challenge of constructing an interesting novel draws me on. As a young man, I read many of the C.S. Forrester Hornblower series. I was impressed by the accurate description of the locales in these novels because on visits to some of the locales I noted the accuracy of them in comparison to reality.
I'm Mair, age 62. I used to write short stories in high school, then life got in the way. Three years ago, I felt the need to begin writing seriously. I have written a young adult fiction that was never published, but it gave me a wonderful learning experience. Now, I'm writing an adult adventure fiction. I find that I love doing the research almost as much as I love writing the book!I also love to read! Mysteries, dog stories/books, mountain climbing, ocean sailing, extreme sports, and more.
I hope to learn a lot in this group.

I am privileged to be here, Vincent, thank you for this topic.I am Stephen Paul Thomas on my writers name, I am Hungarian. I write science-fiction stories as from my child hood.
I am a history and language teacher by my original profession, but I have different educations and working background (graphic designer, Painter, editor, 3D and 2D animator).
After writing too long for my drawer (and closed my stuff into it) I came to publish my first book, CLUSTER in Hungarian language at 3.4.2013.
My second book (Death in the stars) out this November, meanwhile I am writing the second part of the Cluster (Seed).
This book is on the the way out to the readers on English, will be out 4.4.2014.
The story from the back of the book>
A runaway skybus rush through the traffic of the New Home Colony on Mars, and an old cop trying to save its passengers from their fatal destiny.
But this is only a beginning.
Alexei Sverlov wakes up in the middle of the Indian Ocean with a rope tied to his leg...
But this is only the beginning.
A new state, the New China Empire emerges on the Earth, occupying whole Asia in a confined atomic strike.
But this is only the beginning...
The M-epidemy started its horrible and deadly spread on the Colonies of the Solar system.
But this is really just the beginning.
In this gripping and exciting book - which binds you itself from the firs page to the last - the main characters find themselves in the cluster of a Solar system-wide epidemic, while a much more greater spiritual and physical powers pull the strings from the background.
The world is new, the epidemy is unknown, but the conflict is the old one. You can only find out the secrets of the Cluster if you sink deeply into it!
The promo video is on, soon in English too.

Uhhmm... Hi there? My website writing/surfing savvy is comparable to G.W. Bush's vocabulary skills, so bear with me. I am a new author and have been happily visiting Goodreads for years. Now it's time for me to try to take part. My first novel has been published (it's called 'The Gentle Extortion' and it's fairly good.) I like to tell people that I wrote it all by myself, but honestly, it just came tumbling out of my brain. I took a ride on the rejection carousel until I happened upon Tate Publishing and they liked it (those people have good taste). Everyone keeps telling me that the story is new/unique/feels good, etc. I have not published (or submitted), any of my other writings and I am hoping this will be a good place to learn how to do it. Any thoughts, suggestions, insights, etc. on your part will be extremely appreciated. Oh, and of course, I hope you will read my book. I promise to return the favor.
BONJOUR! I'm Kim and live on the French Riviera, author of "Solitary Desire-One Woman's Journey to France" and my blog 24/7 in France; co-founder of France Finesse (themed travel packages)!
Hi! I'm new here and hoping I don't overstay my welcome. In brief, I've sold more than 95 novels in a range of genres--romantic comedy, romantic suspense, medical romance, mystery (non romance), horror (yes, really), science fiction, fantasy (non romance), and how to write. Currently, I write for Harlequin, I self-published an original s.f. novel (Out of Her Universe) and I'm revising, updating and self-publishing some of my old favorites to which I've regained the rights. Honestly, I'm here because a) I'm not rich yet-still trying! b) I love my readers, and c) I'm always happy to send out free review copies for an honest review.
I have a blog on Goodreads, and I'll be offering freebies for reviewers (no obligation), but I don't want to go on too long in an introduction. If you're still curious, my website is www.jacquelinediamond.com and my Facebook page is Jacqueline Diamond Author.
Thanks to all you readers and reviewers, and hello to my fellow authors!

Light in the Gloaming
Early reviewers say: must read, hard to put down, serious "wow" factor, strips humanity to its core, a beautiful story worth telling, a triumph of a debut novel, with a "thoughtful, compelling, satisfying, and exciting conclusion."
Check it out at: http://amzn.to/18HlZia and http://jbsimmons.com

No one escapes the Gloaming. The fallen prince survives in this secret and brutal exile. His betrayer, Tryst, imposes his will on the complex medieval city above. Tryst's two sisters have their own veiled motives: Ravien has ambitions exceeding her brother's; their half-sister Lorien wants vengeance for the disappeared prince she had hoped to marry. Alliances will crumble, battles will rage, and souls will transform in the Gloaming.
In the mold of GAME OF THRONES, with a twist of HUNGER GAMES, this epic adventure seeks a deep truth, a truth pursued by the likes of Nietzsche, C.S. Lewis, and Machiavelli.
What truth will the Gloaming reveal to you?

I would suggest you sign onto Wattpad and make use of the active base of writers/readers to test out your unpublished works' ability to attract readers. You can post pieces of any length from a four-line poem to forty chapters of a novel (I did the latter). Readers can "follow" you, vote for and comment on your work and allow you to gain feedback and build up a fan base.
You can also add pictures and videos and an external link, such as to your website or Amazon. For another opinion on Wattpad, read what indie fantasy author Lindsay Buroker says: http://www.lindsayburoker.com/guest-p...
Hello all. My name is Tim Rose. After spending the last eighteen years living in a variety of different countries, I have just moved back to the USA.For years I have been writing for myself and friends. I finally sat down and wrote my first full length Fantasy novel. It is entitled The Forging: Book One of the Companions Series.I self-published it through Authorhouse and it is now on sale via Amazon, Barnes&Nobles etc.
As I assume is the case with many new authors here on Goodreads, I am looking for people to read and review my work. I am more than willing to send people an electronic copy of my book if they are interested and willing to put up a review.
Hi I'm Fay Guilian,I'm the author of The Sympathy of All Things. I can tell you right now I am not a big fan of 'happily ever after', so you might be able to guess that my book doesn't have your typical happy ending. I am writing two books currently - one is a non-fiction book about Multiple Sclerosis...and the other is called (working title) The Girls of the Middle East - my blog on travel and spirituality is just getting going http://buhistianjourney.com - I am happy to be here and excited to get to know all of you.

Hello! I'm Catherine. I live on an island in Greece. I am a teacher and a romance writer. I will shortly self-publish my first novel called "Is love just by chance?"I like making new friends and I also adore cats, so most people online call me Cat as a short of my name. :))))))

Hi Im Katrina I'm from New Zealand, and I just love to read, and I blog as well. Thanks for letting me join your group.
Am I the only dragon here? Hmm. Well, my name is Tremaine. I've been writing for years and years, but I've only published my first book, How to Be a Dragon in Six Easy Steps, a few months ago through Smashwords. I'm still new to this whole self-publishing business, as the work seems to have started AFTER I've published the book, but I'm trying to work on it. In addition to being a writing dragon, I am also a ebook cover artist. I'd love to say I've had hundreds of clients but I've only just realized that this was a n actual market and not a figment of my imagination. I have had one customer though, and she's been pleased. Most of my days are spent advertising, both for this business and for the coaching start up I'm working on.
When I'm not doing any of these things I'm writing. I have four different In-Immediate-Progress novels now and another fifteen that are waiting for my attention, not to mention the self-helps books and scripts bungling around in my head. The minute they create a machine that transcribes thoughts I will be in heaven!
Feel free to visit my cover site here http://ebcoverdesigns.wordpress.com/ or add me on twitter @TremaineLights or @Treyla21. I'm there more than I'm anywhere else.
Stay positive, valiant humans!
Need some help here from fellow authors, I have two questions, One. My first book "The Price" came out in march of this year. I went through Friesen Press and really wasn't happy with them, my problem is I have finished a sequel and was thinking about using another self publishing service. Would not using two different publishers for your first book and another for the sequel be to off-putting for a reader? And my second question has anyone ever used or heard anything about iUniverse Publishing? They seem to be offering a great package in evaluation, editing and marketing so I would really appreciate any feed back. Sorry if this is not the section to ask this but I could see no other discussion board that would fit.
Hello All!My name is Cianna (Cy) and I love everything about books, whether it is writing or reading. I even edit books for fun! I like stepping into another world and getting lost in my own imagination. I have also started a midwest readers group for anyone that likes romance and lives in the midwest (Minnesota) area.
Hello there guys.I love books, reading, literature and art. I'm a passionate reader and I often write, too. I live in Germany, I'm 22 and I'm glad I can share some of my passions with all of you.

Hello. My name is Seth Callen and two days ago I uploaded my first work, Devil's Claw, to Amazon's Kindle platform. It is titled Devil's Claw and can be generally categorized as young adult. My author page on Amazon can be found at amazon.com/author/sethcallen. I was born and raised on a ranch in southwestern Oklahoma and have worked in the agriculture and insurance industries for the past twenty years. Many of the characters and settings are based on life in "Red Dirt Country", and in some cases on actual events.
