Goodreads Authors/Readers discussion
Introduce Yourself!
I'm a Florida-based journalist and author. My first book, Fringe Florida, has just been released, a few weeks earlier than scheduled. I've been writing since I was child, fiction and non-fiction. I've been a newspaper staff writer and for the past 12 years, a freelancer to national and regional publications. While working on Fringe Florida I was marooned on a writer's island, sheltered by necessity from the writing community and to a large extent, socializing in general. I look forward to connecting with other readers and writers on Goodreads. My Goodreads author page is in the works.Lynn Waddell

Hi, all. My name is Cheryl Yeko and I started writing in 2011. My debut novel, Protecting Rose, was a finalist in the 2011 Launching a Star Contest and the winner in the 2012 Gayle Wilson Award of Excellence. What a great start to my writing career. I have two other books out, A Man To Trust and Abducting Casey. Yesterday I released my 4th novel, Mountain Hero, and just uploaded it on my Goodreads author page, My 5th novel, Shielding Her Heart, is due for release in November. It's been a fun couple years! I write romantic suspense, but have been working on a paranormal series for over a year and hope to have the first book out in 2014.
I pop in often to look around, although as you can guess, I been busy writing and haven't had much time for anything else. But 5 books in 2 years, well, I'm ready to slow down a bit (lol...at least I'll try) and enjoy myself with interacting with the writing community.
I've been on Goodreads for a couple years, here's my profile:

I'd love it if you would be my friend...lol.

Hi Vincent! Hi Everyone!
My name is Amrit Chima. Favorite authors include Rohinton Mistry, Margaret Atwood, Andre Dubus III, and Isabel Allende (among many others). I read a lot (half the job of writing is reading!), mostly literary fiction, although I occasionally take a break for some sexy, action-packed fantasy or sci-fi.
Earlier this year I completed my first work of literary fiction, a novel called Darshan, the story of a family's one-hundred-year journey across continents on a heartbreaking quest for redemption and forgiveness. Set in India, Fiji, and San Francisco, the family must learn to release the guilt and burdens of a long-ago crime that haunts them through generations. It took me one year of research (to get all the setting details just right) followed by four years of writing and rewriting. Glad and proud to be finished!

Looking forward to seeing work from this group, and thanks for the opportunity to share!
Hi, My name is Julie Seedorf and my first book in the Fuchsia, Minnesota series was just published in August by the Cozy Cat Press. My character Granny lives in the fictional town of Fuchia, Minnesota sometimes spelled Fuschia, Minnesota depending on how confused Granny is. She solves crimes with the best of them, gives her kids gray hair, love animals and maybe a little romance too. I also write Children's books and my first published book was Whatchamacallit? Thingamajig? Again, about a Granny that is in trouble but this time her grandchildren must save her. They are all available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. In my real life I am a computer technician, a wife, mother, granny and dreamer. I love to read. I love cozy mysteries which is why I wrote one but I also a little edgier mystery too. Catherine Coulter is one of my favorite authors. I look forward to meeting other readers and writers. Thanks for giving me the chance to introduce myself.

My name is Christian Clason. I am a writer/author/story teller.I am self published and struggling in that department but strong in my writing.
Writing has been a passion I cannot shake...like an addiction...I cannot go a day without sitting down and writing something.
Albeit, it hasn't been perfect rainbows and sunshine...
I have countless books ready for publish if I can just round up the last few chapters. But the characters always say (one more, one more) and I cannot end it there.
I have finished one series: The Were-Dragon and you can find all five books on my page. Beware though, I have found that there is an editor with my name. Don't get us confused.
Also, before you are confused, I am a female writer, Christian is not a pen name, and I write: Fantasy, Science Fiction, Historical Fiction, & Romance/Erotic Novels.

Hello! My name is Jacqueline Smith. I love reading and writing and my first book, Cemetery Tours, will be available on Amazon and Kindle on September 17! I do hope to eventually get it into bookstores, but I'm still learning the ropes of the independent publishing world. Along with getting my book out there, I really hope that I will be able to connect with more independent authors and support them as well.
I am currently writing the sequel to Cemetery Tours, the first book in a trilogy, and several stand alone novels.
I look forward to getting to know everyone!

White mutt here who has never so much as received a parking ticket, going by the name "Tommy Walker" when it comes to my book, "Monstrous: The Autobiography of a Serial Killer but for the Grace of God". The book has been around for twelve years, and although it has a title that practically makes people come in their shorts, along with a content to match (my most recent reviewer ranks it tied for first on his list of favorite books) it has sold as if it hasn't penetrated the world's consciousness much better than the latest dreck dashed off to press.Up until now this should not have concerned you, since ignorance is bliss, but I'm afraid I have now bestowed upon you a seed of awareness, and that from this point you must realize that God is watching you not read "Monstrous"; that He is disappointedly watching another of his moth kids settling for a lightbulb instead of pushing on toward the sun.

Hi, my name is Karen Tjebben, and I just finished my first novel, Scintillate. It's a paranormal romance/thriller for YA or NA. It's a fun read for anyone who enjoys an escape from reality. Check out my FB page for some extra info. on Scintillate. https://www.facebook.com/scintillates... or http://www.amazon.com/Karen-Tjebben/e...

Hello, everyone! My name is Sara Jiang, I love reading anything that is thought-provoking, and my first novel comes out in November! :)
Hello everyone. My name is Scott R. Hylton, and I'm the author of the Immortal Grave series. Currently, the first book in the series is released and listed here on Goodreads. The sequels are quickly en route. The first book in my series was recently entered in the Next Best Fiction Author Contest, hosted by Hampton Roads and Heirophant publishing. These publishing houses are known for releasing many best-sellers. Although I didn't win, I did make it to the top ten of novels chosen out of 154, so I think I'll be happy with that record.
After that, I didn't want to deal with traditional publishing for a while, so I self-published.
J. Robert Ewbank has two books on the giveaway section this month. They are SIGNED COPIES.The firsts is “John Wesley, Natural Man, and the Isms” and the second is “Wesley’s Wars.”

I have just joined this Goodreads group. I am a native of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. I served in the U.S. Navy Reserve, graduated from Princeton University, and have made a living as a sailor, salesman, underwriter, account executive, accountant, systems administrator, information specialist, and, currently, professional writer. Prior to returning to Tuscaloosa in 1989, I lived in Florida, the Panama Canal Zone, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Georgia.
I have written three books in the Needed Killing Series and am working on the fourth. I credit the tornado that ripped through Tuscaloosa on April 27, 2011, for giving me the impetus to retire from the University of Alabama and start writing professionally, and my wife for giving him the support, encouragement, and editorial assistance necessary to be successful at my chosen profession.
Books in the Needed Killing Series are
He Needed Killing
He Needed Killing Too
She Needed Killing
“The Deacon Needed Killing” (work in progress)
They can be ordered via my website http://www.billfittsauthor.com.

The Tale of the Wulks is a coming of age saga set in the modern day United States.
A little self praise; I am a gifted student who happens to be autistic and I have tried to use fantasy-adventure to illustrate the truth behind autism and how much autistic individuals add to the positive whole of society.
Hoping to learn a lot here!

Hi, everyone, I'm also new to Goodreads and sort of feeling my way around.I write romance/erotic romance, and have 2 books self published out now.
Of course, I was a reader first, and still am -- it's my reward for writing.
I'm old enough to appreciate the advantages we enjoy authors enjoy now. I plan to keep on writing for the next two hundred years.
Hi! ^^I'm Lily Mhaye and I think it's pretty obvious I'm new here. I'm a certified YA fan who's desperately in search of other fans who could understand me better. Basically because many people around my environment don't get books. So I would really like to have friends here, am I welcome? :)
Hey guys. New girl alert. I'm a voracious reader of all sorts of genres. I can't stick to just one! I'm also a writer but have as of yet not been brave enough to hit that publish button. I have vowed to do it and get some of my stuff out there by the end of the year though. In the mean time I'm looking to chat books and get some recommendations. Nice to meet you all!

For me, I always think I could have done more, might have changed this, or could make that a bit sharper. In the end, you just have to sit back, relax, and say, this is me. Like it or not!
Good luck getting that first book published!
Hi everyone, My name is Evie and I have just launched my time-slip novel The Cross Of Santiago. Set in Ireland, it has two stories that run parallel; one in 1588 when the ill-fated Spanish Armada wrecked upon Irish shores, and the other in the present day, where a young woman has a family mystery to solve. Want to find out how they are both connected? If this sounds like your cup of tea, then check it out on Amazon where you can download a sample for free. Thank you!
Bryan wrote: "Scarlett wrote: "Hey guys. New girl alert. I'm a voracious reader of all sorts of genres. I can't stick to just one! Fingers crossed it works.

I am Maz, from Threapwood in the UK. Only really just started to participate in these groups, but browsed them quite a lot, so most likely I know a lot of you more than you will know me!
I do write, mainly horror, but the info is on my profile, feel free to check it.
Otherwise, I spend most my time doing outdoor stuff. hiking, cycling, travelling etc.
I have few friends, but the few I have are worth more than having a Facebook profile with 20,000 strangers!
Also interested in the supernatural and general conspiracies....
