I am author and aviatrix Syd Blue. I wrote FlyGirl to encourage more girls to take on the challenge of flying because it is so empowering! It's an incredible journey that changes your life.

FlyGirl is on sale right now for the holidays. Here's the description:

What does it take to fly a plane?
Guts.
FlyGirl Jill has plenty of courage but she forgets about one thing.
And when she finds herself in absolute terror at ten thousand feet, she knows there's only one way out...

As soon as sophomore Jill Townsend hears the hottest senior in school, Robbie Magnor, say he thinks a woman who can fly is sexy, she knows what she must do to catch his eye. As she sets out to become a pilot, she unearths a love for flying and finds she belongs up in the breath-taking sky. She wants to fly more than anything. Up there, she not only has an amazing view of the world and its endless possibilities, but there’s nothing holding her back.

But with her mom forbidding anything more dangerous than homework, Jill fights to free herself. In a clever scheme, she drums up the money for lessons and forges a permission slip. She’s off soaring into the wild blue — until a surprise in the sky foils her plans and threatens her life. Shock and panic pales in comparison to the horror waiting on the ground. Now what will Robbie think?

Thanks for the forum! Cheers, Syd

Barbara Hinske Hi Everyone! I'm a voracious reader who took the plunge two years ago and wrote my first novel. I published Coming to Rosemont in December of 2012 and have been marketing it like crazy ever since. I'm pleased with my sales and reviews to date. I enjoy TV series over movies -- I love a longer story line, with characters I can form a continuing involvement with -- so I'm writing a Rosemont series. I've got at least 5 books outlined. The first one is out and I'm editing the second one. I've been described as the love child between John Grisham and Jan Karon. I so hope that is true!! My Rosemont series would make a first-rate Hallmark Channel series (like Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove). By day I am an attorney. I'm married and have 2 grown children. A devoted dog lover, we currently have 2 furry friends in our home.

J.M. Guillen (jmguillen) | 1 comments My name is JM Guillen. I spend most of my time trying to enslave western civilization and experimenting with armies of drones and cloned dinosaurs. My super-villain name is "The Pen-Dragon".

I also tend to write a bit.

My work is published through Irrational Worlds, an evil publishing conglomerate based on the Daedalus space station. Currently it consists of four novellas. These range from:

A fantasy romance, about a priestess of passion and desire...
to
A steampunk detective story, with more than a dash of suspense...
to
A science fiction/spy romp battling against cthulian horror...
to
A modern faerie tale about the embodiment of Autumn, hunting the shadows of our world...

My work is all interconnected, and the stories contain strands of each other. I'll admit that it's more than a little bit of a game for me, and I try and make it fun WHILE enslaving the masses. I am currently working on the steampunk/detective story, and expanding it into a series.

An evil series. With a dark and terrible purpose.

Just so everyone knows, I am on the hunt for books to review. I am specifically requesting .Mobis from goodreads authors for this nefarious task. You should be aware, however, that as a super-villain, my reviews have a bit of a slant.

If you'd like a review, message me up. I'll happily give you one.*

Michele | 3 comments Hi everyone. I'm Rachel and I write under the pen name Michele Theron. My first book, Suburban Underbelly, is now available on Amazon. It's a funny, sexy, snarky read and I have been gratified by the positive response so far.

What happens when three stay-at-home moms in suburbia decide they need a regular "play date" as much as their kids do?

Jill, Lucy and Quinn decide to give themselves a break from the suburban ritual of motherhood as a competitive sport with three hours a week of freedom without kids. Can the play dates save their true identities from shriveling up? The women push boundaries, satisfy curiosities, and liberate the parts of themselves lost somewhere between diapers and runny noses.

Suburban Underbelly is Michele Theron's tale of what really happens in suburbia during the day. It's more real than Real Housewives, as hot as Sex in the City, and just as snarky as Desperate Housewives.

Looking forward to being a part of this group!

Stephen Logsdon (stephenlogsdon) | 1 comments My name is Stephen Logsdon, and as of August 5th, I'm a new eBook author. My Sci Fi book "Odysseus: Bound" is currently being sold through all eBook sellers, and I'm working on the second book in this series, titled "The Collector". As George R R Martin put it, writers can be loosely classified into one of two groups: architects or gardeners. The experience of writing my first novel, proved I was the gardener with very little architect, where every chapter was and is an adventure for me. While it's taken me over two decades to finally find a subject that could last through one book, yet alone a series, I find myself in the interesting situation where now that I have found it, I am having the time of my life doing it. Now ... if I can only learn to do it full time.

Martyn Stanley | 25 comments Hello,

I'm Martyn, author of 'The Deathsworn Arc' and several more actually. I write almost constantly, but 'The Deathsworn Arc' is my passion. I started writing it as a common or garden fantasy adventure, but as it's progressed, I've found myself writing a deeper meaning with elements of science and moral philosophy as well as atheism and an examination of belief systems. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but I've never enjoyed writing as much as writing this! I'm currently working on book 3 of the series and have book 4 already planned out.

Gary Gregory | 2 comments My first work as the editor of a novella was successfully completed. This work inspired me to birth my own pent-up novels at the rate of 5-10,000 words per day. I am currently working on four wildly different works simultaneously. I enjoy the way each story and character takes on a life of its own, taking me to surprising places, letting me listen in on unexpected dialogue, and unlocking a store of memories.
I would love to hear everyone's best advice for a new author.

I am Jesse Duckworth and we (Chris Powell and I) started creating a world in 2008. Since then, I have been working on a novel, three novellas, and some short stories all from this world. I just published a novella through Harren Press (our own small publishing house) that is currently on amazon, A Song of Betrayal. I am focused on getting better as I finish up the follow up novella to A Song of Betrayal and work on our novel, The Keepers of the Seal.

If you're a writer I'm sure you know what I mean. Cheeky little gits, aren't they? My name is Styna Lane, 23, from Mansfield, OH.
I'm very nearly the epitome of "nerd". I'm more obsessed with Harry Potter than what is probably healthy for an adult (or anyone). I'm a recovered World of Warcraft addict, but am currently dealing with a pretty bad Doctor Who relapse. I enjoy everything Fantasy and Scifi.
I recently released my first novel, The Energy Room, and currently spend nearly all of my time promoting it, as well as working on the sequel.

Crissy Moss (crissymoss) | 69 comments Hi, I'm new-ish to goodreads. I've been using it for years to track my favorite books, and get recommendations, but only just recently dove into forums and friends.

I'm a reader, and an author. In both I like sci-fi, fantasy, paranormal, and really anything that isn't our normal world.

Most of the books I have up at the moment are short stories, or anthologies. I'm working on an urban fantasy at the moment about the goddesses of Fate, and their struggle against an awakening god bent on twisting the world into his own bloody vision.

Favorite authors... Kim Harrison, Jim Butcher, McCaffery, Anthony, Weis and Hickmen... Rothfuss.. oh just too many to count. I love books.
