My name is Jeri Parker. I'm a dedicated reader and writer--the author of A Thousand Voices, a Memoir. It is an account of the remarkable relationship I had with a wild, beautiful deaf boy, who, for a time, took the place of the son I'd lost. Someone called it incandescent; that was my favorite word for it. It's essential a love song to language. I'm currently reading The Leopard by Guiseppi di Lampedusa. I'm also an artist. I live in Salt Lake City in the winter and the Centennial Mountains in Idaho in the summer, where I hike and paint and fly fish and write from my loft, looking out over quaking aspen. Great distinction: a bear came into my cabin and kept me company one afternoon, no kidding.Jeri Parker

Hello, name is Germaine. I wrote a book about 61,000 words. I wonder if it should be a bit longer, though. I like to write, and would love to make a little money at it as well. To tell the truth, though, I just like for people to read to read my literature, whether they pay for it or not. It really touches me to share who I am. I will leave the link for my book:http://www.amazon.com/Lost-At-Glassy-...
I wrote it because I like pirate stories. I also like mystery, such as Agatha Christie, and film noir.
Oh wonderful, Germaine. I'll have a look. Mine is on Amazon too. I'm using my iPhone or I'd post a link. Nice to get acquainted.

Hi EveryoneI'm Mike Olley and I write funny short stories. I don't stick with one genre, I go where the story dictates - I think that's half the fun of writing. I'm currently working on a novel which is constantly interrupted by the day job, distracted by ideas for flash-fictions and the cats; mustn't forget the cats. They've got to eat too.
I've been (and am being) published in a couple of anthologies. I have one ebook collection of stories, 'Better', available in the usual online marketplaces. If you like to laugh at strange things you should get Better : )
Thanks
Mike

Hey guys! I'm slowly getting to know more and more people on this website, and everyone has been awesome so far :)Just wanted to quickly share my first motivational book "Win No Matter What" as well. It's composed of several powerful inspirational stories, and the best thing is that most book sale profits are going to Acumen, a charity investing in solutions to combat global poverty.
The ebook is only $3, less than a premium cup of coffee. If you are interested in inspiring your life while supporting the cause and making a difference in the world, you can buy the book here :)

Hi all. I am Winfield Ly. I'm currently living in Mississauga, ON. I love to write, and I just recently self-published my first short story ebook in May titled "A Love Too Late" through Smashwords and is available through other major retailers for 99 cents.
I am working a number of novel drafts, and short stories. When I'm not writing, I have to edit the drafts that I finished to prepare for self-publication. I like to read too, and every so often, I go into Chapters and just browse for books to see whether I want to buy them and read. =)

Good morning everyone. Please enjoy today's new post on my blog about the power of words.

Hello, everyone. I teach writing and literature at a university in San Antonio, and I've just published my first novel, Body and Bread. It was one of "Ten Books To Pick Up Now" in O Magazine and listed as one of Huffington Post's "Summer Books." I also co-edited an anthology, Art at Our Doorstep:San Antonio Writers and Artists. I founded a literary center, Gemini Ink (www.geminiink.org), which offers classes to anyone and sends writers into schools and community centers. I've also been an investigative journalist and a writer-in-the-schools. I've dedicated my adult life to teaching and writing literature because I'm convinced that it creates empathy in readers and teaches critical thinking. Thanks for allowing me to share my thoughts here.
Hello everyone,my name is William. I am a former soldier now trying to make my way as a writer of heroic fantasy, horror, and anything else I think is fun.
I've been a Goodreads member for some months, but mostly I've been lurking. I'm not terribly social media clever, but I'm trying to come out of my hole and force myself to interact more.
My debut novel, Black Monastery is now available on Amazon, so I thought it time to learn more about social media and (gasp!) communicating with real people.
I look forward to interacting with all of you.

Hi everyone,I'm Lucas. I wrote a young adult fantasy novel titled The Little Witch. It's about a witch living in a poor slum in turn-of-the-century London. Her mother is arrested for performing illegal magic, and Astrid has to go rescue her from the evil, aristocratic Magicians' Guild.

Cheers,

Hello! I'm Kurt Schweitzer, a former vampire logistics facilitator, past purveyor of Italian-style transportation, and Y2K disaster preventer. Yeah, I've had a bunch of life experiences that I try to filter through my warped sensibilities into written words, primarily in SF and Fantasy genres.I've been reading SF for decades, with over 500 titles in my collection (mostly from the last millennium.) I've been reading more Fantasy of late, mainly works like The Dresden Files and similar series.
I got into writing only a couple years ago, falling in with the NaNoWriMo crowd. I've started the RocNaNo blog for our local chapter, which as of this post has 15 contributors. My personal blog is First Draft Fiction.
I look forward to getting you know all of you, and your work.
Kurt Schweitzer
My name is Gerry, these are my first stumbling steps - one forwards two backwards. The fact is I was born too soon for all this technology. For those who know anything about cricket, if I was playing technology, technology would win by an innings!Writing is easy, marketing is hard.
I have written three stories, and sold very few, but it does not take the pleasure of writing away, does it?
My latest "The Charity" a crime story is now on offer, but I cannot add it to the bookshelf!! [Technology three Gerry nil!].
I am intrigued by the actions of an ordinary person in an extraordinary situation, maybe my characters are too ordinary, nevertheless they exist and they are put in extraordinary situations.
My name is Ron'Netta LeDoux-Henderson. I am the author of Tha' Trouble Wit' Shaun. I am extending the offer for everyone in the group to download my book for free on Kindle today.
My name is Jed Power. My two crime novels,"The Boss of Hampton Beach," and "Hampton Beach Homicide," are both out in ebook and trade paper. My bartender protagonist in both is named Dan Marlowe. The real Dan Marlowe was my father's best friend and wrote his crime masterpiece, "The Name of the Game is Death," while living with my family. He named a character in the novel after me. I've returned the honor. The third in the Dan Marlowe series, "Blood On Hampton Beach," will be available soon.I have had many shorts stories published and also collect vintage Hardboiled/Noir paperbacks.
Hi Everyone! My name is Claudia Ross and I'm a author. I've published two eBooks so far, with more on the way. My primary work is La Rose Book I Le Baton Chronicles, where the Rose of the Most battles Mammon the Devil for control of their mutual heir through the telling of the family history, beginning in 19th Century Louisiana.
I hope to get to know all of you better. Happy reading and writing!!!
Claudia

Nice to meet you all!

Hi! I am Vanessa. I have been writing poetry for about 15 years and am now working on my first novel. It has been challenging to go from stanzas to writing full on paragraphs. Also, choosing where and how to begin my story has been a challenge. It seems much easier to write the middle and end than the beginning. It is an historical romance called "war cry".
My name is Gregory Skeete, from the beautiful island of Barbados in Caribbean. I am a Mechanical Engineer, but an author as a hobby as it offers a creative, fun release from 'technical' thinking.I've written this children's book because I love to see people growing to accomplish their dreams. What better place to start than children?
I believe that true global education is the only way to secure a harmonious future, and the social advancement of humanity across all cultures.
So if you want to try children's books with 100% tropical illustrations, fun and rhymes, please check out my 1st book here.
Have a great day and much love from the tropics and I would love to hear any comments and/or reviews.
