Hi everyone, I'm Fiorella, and I'm delighted to be joining this group. After many years writing for theatre and film, I've just published my first novel, Finding Grace. The idea came from a question that wouldn't leave me alone: Why do so many women reach a point where they wonder how they became strangers in their own lives? The story begins with a woman celebrating her fiftieth birthday and wedding anniversary with her family. She goes out to buy a bottle of wine... and simply keeps walking. Grace doesn't set out to disappear. She isn't running away from an abusive marriage or a dramatic secret. She just reaches a moment when she can no longer ignore the quiet voice asking, "Is this really the life I was meant to live?" Her unexpected journey takes her onto the Camino de Santiago, where she meets fellow pilgrims, confronts the choices she's made, and slowly begins to rediscover herself. Although Finding Grace explores midlife, identity, family and second chances, I hope it's ultimately a hopeful story about finding the courage to begin again.
