I'm about half way through, and I'm really liking this one. The mystery is interesting, and I like how little bits of the background are filled in as you read. I find it hard to put down when I have time to read it, but then I sometimes don't want to read it right before bed (when I have the most reading time) because it is a bit on the tense side.
My library loan just came in, so starting today. Going in blind without any expectations, so here we go!
I loved "Gone Girl" so I consider that a point in its favor!Technothriller Gone Girl, nice.
Will go put it on hold at the library.
At about 40% into it myself, I like the technothriller Gone Girl description. :) I'm really enjoying it.I haven't read Ken Liu's other books but his short The Paper Menagerie was a 5-star for me. Loved it.
Just finished and overall was just not for me. Until the last quarter of the book, it just didn't gel with me.
I enjoyed the last quarter, but by then I think I was just a bit over the whole thing.
I started last night. Only on page 50 but really enjoying it.
Im surprised how well done the thriller aspect is. Just wasnt what I was expecting from a SciFi (even a techno thriller) or Liu.
But I also think the SciFi elements are fun, the way they are woven in. I’m assuming they’ll come more heavily into play.
The first 50 pages flew by pretty quickly and I’m excited to keep going.
