It's not so much Ralph I suppose, just the way the portray him, I thought he'd have more presence, more menace, not just a wierd noseless drama king.

Not to be snotty, but what does that have to do with our hp conversation?
(in a notso good mood today, don't know why)

I can see what you mean. Voldemort is a bit more...subdued in the films, but I actually like the way the filmmakers have chosen to portray his character.

Chris | 8 comments I think Voldemort should have been given more love when he was young. But he is a great part of the story.

Well, I had asked who you were responding to initially when you asked what something had to do with the topic. Never mind, though...

Shreya=Drastically Random. Find the emoticon. Yeah it's not all Voldie's fault. I bet he just wanted some love. And some attention and opportunity. And some cookies. :P

I still dont get why they let Draco go at the end. He should be in Azcaban

message 279: by Pandy (new)

Pandy | 637 comments Ah, well. The Malfoys always talk themselves out of trouble. According to JKR, they are let off "due to the fact that they colluded (albeit out of self-interest) with Harry at the end of the battle."

I think they were let off cuz they showed luv at the end when they were searching for their son and begging for merciness and stuff like that, it showed they actually had feelings. I think that when Voldemort was born he waas placed under a curse for his heart to be a stone till the day he died and there was non changing that till the day he died. I don't think Voldemort could learn to luv if he was offered immortality for it.

Kate*~FlyingOnABroom~* (bookluver2000) | 1908 comments Mod
That's probably why JKR wrote 7 books about him and his adventures with his friends.

~*Just Slytherin Along w/ The Creatures*~ (Patrick Swayze's lover) (thejsaway) true...it would've been a nice twist if harry died

NO!

~*Just Slytherin Along w/ The Creatures*~ (Patrick Swayze's lover) (thejsaway) yea! it would be a good ending. i don't like harry potter himself, i love the series tho

message 292: by Pandy (new)

Pandy | 637 comments I'm with Arti. I'm glad Harry doesn't die, though I could have used a less saccharine epilogue.

~*Just Slytherin Along w/ The Creatures*~ (Patrick Swayze's lover) (thejsaway) well... he has to die at some point...it would be upsetting if he did...for all he went through

message 294: by Arti, ready to bring back the action (new)

Thats why she didnt write a book about when Harry dies. That would just be sad. :(

~*Just Slytherin Along w/ The Creatures*~ (Patrick Swayze's lover) (thejsaway) yea. i really hope she can make another book. i love the series and im on the last one :( i dont want to finish it yet!

message 297: by SQ (new)

SQ (strategicallymiscellaneous) | 14 comments That one's my favorite and that happens to me every time I read HP.I love it and I hate it!
But I don't think it's Voldemort's fault since he was already an orphan/not an orphan in an orphanage home while he was just a little kid so there was nothing he could do.

message 298: by Arti, ready to bring back the action (new)

Arti (a3books4) | 4234 comments Mod
Well, Tom Riddle shouldn't have asked Slughorn what a Horcrux was. And why was he in the Ristrected (i am a horriblr speller) Section? He turned bad while he was in the orphanage. He hurt kids and did stuff to two of them in the cove and stole stuff. So some of the blame goes to his mum but most of it is his fault.

message 299: by Kate*~FlyingOnABroom~*, ~*Never*Knows*What*To*Write*Here*~...*sighs* (new)

Kate*~FlyingOnABroom~* (bookluver2000) | 1908 comments Mod
Yeah, I think that part of it was also his grand fathers fault, because he absolutley hated muggles and it's probably what voldemort took after.

message 300: by Pandy (new)

Pandy | 637 comments Yeah; there was instability in the Gaunt family due to inbreeding.
