Easter Egg Hunt Challenge:
Welcome to our third Easter egg hunt, everyone!

Just like when you were a little kid, you will be finding eggs throughout this challenge. Before finding your eggs, though, you will need to make a basket. Each basket made can hold up to 20 eggs. After filling the basket, you will then need to make a new one and fill it up as well. This process is repeatable throughout the entire challenge.

How to:
As a team, in order to make a basket, you will be spelling out the word BASKET. For the spell out, you can use the first letter of ANY word in the title, series title, or author’s first/last name. Any edition of the book will work as well.

For example, you could post the following, and it would look like:


Review: add link
Buddy: add link if applicable
Pages: most rated (ex: this one would be 501 pages)
Spell out: B
How it fits: Author’s last name starts with B - Bennett

The scores would then look like this:

Once a basket is complete, you will start filling it up with eggs. How you find the eggs is completely up to you. Here are the below options:

Option 1: Colors

- Blue cover
- Green cover
- Red cover
- Orange cover
- Yellow cover
- Purple cover
- Pink cover

Option 2: Patterns

- Flower(s) on cover
- Stripe(s) on cover
- Swirl(s) on cover
- Polka Dot(s) on cover
- Wave(s) on cover
- Circle(s) on cover
- Star(s) on cover

Option 3: Words

- ‘Egg’ in text (pg/% & quote)
- ‘April’ in text (pg/% & quote)
- ‘Hunt’ in text (pg/% & quote)
- Letters E,G,G in title (in any order)
- Letters A,P,R,I,L in series title (in any order)
- Title ends with a letter in HUNT
- Author initials in EASTER

For example, you could post the following, and it would look like:

Every task is completely repeatable throughout the challenge. Teams do not need to wait until a basket is full in order to make a new one. Each team will also get 10 bonus points for each basket made and filled completely.

This will be a team reading challenge that will run from April 1st to April 30th. The winners will be announced on May 1st.

Teams will be split as evenly as possible. If you would like to be on the same team with anyone, please comment with who when signing up. Please make sure that they also sign up.

When signing up, please mention the number of books you plan on reading for the month of April. These numbers will make it easier for me to make teams match up evenly.

For example,

Alaina - 20 books
Aly - 20 books
Jamie - 10 books
Jessica - 15 books
Melanie - 10 books
Anshika - 3 books
Saige - 8 books

**You will not be penalized if you go over or under your number.**

1 - 50 pages → 0.25 pts (will only count for page points)
51 - 99 pages → 0.5 pts (will only count for page points)
100 - 149 pages → 1 pt
150 - 249 pages → 2 pts
250 - 349 pages → 3 pts
350 - 449 pages → 4 pts
450 - 549 pages → 5 pts
550 - 649 pages → 6 pts
650 - 749 pages → 7 pts
750 - 849 pages → 8 pts
850 - 949 pages → 9 pts
950+ pages → 10 pts
