Looking at some of the responses in this thread, I get the impression that some folks don't know what game they are playing. This isn't word association. You can add, remove, or change one letter. You can't re-arrange the letters to make a new word.Miles left off with "amaze".
So I respond:

Dare is a word, but you started with "razed". To get "dare" you have to change three letters, not one.

So I can't remove a letter and change the order of the other ones as I see fit? I clearly don't know how to play the game. :sSorry guys!

You may remove or add a letter, or you may rearrange the letters; however, you cannot do more than one of these at a time.

'razed' to 'dared' just changes one letter, the 'z' to a 'd', so works fine. They can be rearranged in any order, but we're not supposed to add or subtract letters. We keep all 5, just change one at a time.
Unless this is different than the other games of this sort I've played.
