Goodreads Authors/Readers discussion
Thanks for Joining!

I am an author and a reader... love both equally.
My debut novel, Divine Guidance, was released in late July. DG is murder and intrigue with a psychic twist.
Divine GuidanceShari T. Mitchell

I'm Mary and I'm new in GR. I recently published my first novel, after a lifetime of scripts and plays and I'm truly desperate for people's opinions since I decided to communicate my writing.
It's a literary fiction dark comedy and is called How to Sew Pieces of Cloud Together. The story revolves around a prison experiment taking place into a remote villa. Prison inspectors Rita Hopper and Malcolm Cherry intrude for an unannounced visit but things don't run smoothly at all.

Thank you!

Is it appropriate for me to post a TEDx talk I did? The theme has to do with my book, Both Sides of the Bedside: From Oncology Nurse to Patient, an RN's Journey with Cancer.
Thanks,
Christine

You're weak. You know that though. You tell yourself this all day long every day every waking moment. Forever. You always tell yourself this you are always constantly telling yourself you are weak. You are. You know why you're weak, the reason you are weak is because you're insane but not because you are insane are you weak the reason you are weak is because you choose not to show that you are crazy. You must embrace who you are to become what you are meant to be. Look at that I'm starting to look like a motivational speaker and trust me that's not what I'm trying to be. I'm not here for you. I'm here for my own selfish greed. You feed me and I feed you. This IS the relationship we will have nothing more. I expect nothing but you to feed me and you will expect nothing from me except to feed you. Never ask me for anything. I have no interest in what you have. The only thing I am interested in is the sole fact that you are reading the words that I write. You are a vessel and another click. Nothing more. Never forget this. You are mine. - See more at: http://www.averagerambling.com/blog#s...

I'm a memoirist and a freelance writer (travel news, mostly), living half the year in France, the other half in my native Vermont. I'm working on the third book in a series called The Snowbird Chronicles. I wonder if anyone else in the group is working on a nonfiction series. Mine is a family saga that takes place in Africa, the U.S., and France. Thanks for creating this group. I need to spend more time here at Goodreads. Hard to write, read, and blog all at the same time, especially if you are slow at all three things (I'm slow at everything, including running).

Besides this group, there are other groups to join for pretty much any interest you can think of. Go to the tab that says "Community", then "Groups" and do a search where it says "Find groups by title or description".
The Goodreads website also has a Help section that might be of use: https://www.goodreads.com/help

Peggy. List your interests here and the people with like-interests will contact you.

Besides this group,..."
Thank you. These are good suggestions which I read over the weekend and had trouble finding again. I will try them.

Thank you for your help. I signed up for Goodreads for our pet loss book Taking Care of Little Snoogie. I also write about health care, the health care crisis, and trauma. I have a book on the crisis almost ready to launch and a book on trauma in progress.

I am so pleased to introduce you guys to my new book coming out this MAY 29th on Amazon.
It’s a whole new level of another fun. Trust me!
Title: ...SO FUNNY "The Funniest Story Jokes Book On Earth"
Plan to get a copy!

I just joined this group. I've written three books, two of which are non-fiction. The third is a novel based on the Demeter/Persephone myth. I looked at your genre folders, but I couldn't find a heading that seemed to fit works of fiction that retell myths. Which is the appropriate folder for books based on mythology?
Thanks.

Could anyone explain?

If anyone could help where do I post my book genre?

congratulations for this group and I wish you all the best. I am a new author and I hope to get to know people from this specific group.

Still new to the site. Thanks for letting me join the group!

I'm happy to be in this group. Writers need motivation and inspiration every now and then. Hope to get some great ideas and share too.

As the Dragon Flies, from "The Crystal Road", by Jan-Andrea Day
Instinctively, I find my way to a tall dandelion
which has just gone to seed.
I grasp the stem and pull myself out from this nymphal shell.
I molt from this burden and stretch as my length allows.
My wings dry in the breeze, they lighten and slip apart.
Then I spread them to their full splendor.

Thank you for this group and forum! As a new author, it's great to be able to connect with fellow authors and book lovers!
