Joan Wise (joan46) | 110 comments I agree it sounds like a Nelson DeMille or Tom Clancy book. Go to Fantastic Fiction website and you can go through these authors books and maybe a title will ring a bell. Good Luck!

Jay Howard (jay_howard) | 87 comments Hi everyone
I've been a GR member for a while now, and am wondering why Intisar had to point me in your direction - I should have found you ages ago. Online newbie failure again :(
Never mind, I'll make up for lost time as soon as I've clicked that Publish button for book 2, which probably means I'll get back to you in a week or so. Ciao!

Jonni Jordyn | 10 comments Hello, my name is John Kovacich. I currently have one ebook released on Amazon and will add another in a couple weeks. My genres (for what I've either completed or started) include urban fantasy, spy fi, sci fi, space opera, and crime mystery.

In addition to writing fiction and poetry, I also write software and music, and have performed professionally with some of the legends of Latin Rock.

My other interests include volleyball, bowling, bicycles, golf and mountain climbing.

Kathryn Donovan-Freeman | 15 comments Hi All! My name is Kathryn Donovan-Freeman. I am so thrilled to have found this group! Spending summers at our cabin in the Adirondack mountains in NY with my Grandma Zeta (an avid reader), introduced me to the joys of reading...I simply love to read. Wish I had the gift of writing, but very content with enjoying others gifts for it. Happy to add new "friends" here on Goodreads so feel free to add me...I LOVE recommendations for new books..new authors..old books that you loved... Happy to be a member of this group!

Kathryn Donovan-Freeman | 15 comments Oh, and one more thing.. :) This could have to do with my age, but I like to turn pages. I have a kindle but I find that I only use it when I run out of real books to read. Books are treasures!

Marcelle (mbartoloabela) | 41 comments Thanks for the invite. I write on faith and spirituality in daily life, this is my goodreads link: http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/... I've included it because I'm not sure I'm familiar yet, with cataloging the books appropriately on the bookshelves of this group.

message 613: by Colleen (new)

Colleen Oakes (colleenoakes) Hello everyone! And thank you Vincent for the warm welcome. Well, it's happened. After being signed with an agency and then having that agency fall apart, I decided to self-publish with Createspace. I launched my book this week on Amazon and am enjoying watching it go. It's called Elly In Bloom, and it's thoroughly chick-lit. I look forward to getting to know everyone on here!

message 614: by Marissa (new)

Marissa Marchan | 11 comments I would like to thank Brian Shirley for inviting me to be his friend here. When I accepted him as my friend, I found you as one of his groups. This group is amazing. For a new author like me, this group is what we all need. A place where we can all connect and hopefully help each other along the way. I am new in blogging and just learning how to do it, and I look forward to having many friends here. Thank you for the opportunity.

I grew up reading Tony Hillerman. I'm from New Mexico, so most of his stories were based in towns that I've visited.

If I were to move back to the mainland I would more than likely relocate to New Mexico. Lots of Sacredness and Spirituality there.

In what part of the city do you live?

Nice to meet you, Richard! Placitas is a lovely spot. My grandparents are buried in Laramie, WY. It's pretty easy to find them.

Richard Sutton (richardsutton) | 198 comments They must have been upstanding citizens! My grand-dad, not so much. He was a "purveyor of farm machinery" and whatever else that might imply. I've got a novel completed in 2011 that's been languishing with a publisher's editor since February, but it's set in Santa Fe with a couple of ABQ chapters. I hope I'll be announcing it here, soon!

message 650: by Sean (new)

Sean | 8 comments Hi everyone. I've just joined Goodreads and am delighted to see what a nice bunch you all are.

My name is Sean and I'm a writer (sounds like a confession, doesn't it?) My genre is comic fiction and I put my first novel out on amazon as a kindle download a month ago. Sales have been steady, rather than spectacular, but I've received a few excellent reviews.

People are always complaining about there being no genuinely funny novels around, so I though the I'd redress the balance with something that made me laugh.

It is very British, but also very funny (the reviews all praise the humour)

If you like a laugh-out-loud comedy-thriller and understand the British sense of humour, I think you will appreciate 'Beer Goggles'. I would be interested in how it appeals to the discerning Goodreads reader.
