Not true. I know of cases where reviews are on Amazon and the book was not purchased there.

Ashlyn McVean doesn’t believe in fairy tales.
That is, until she's thrown into the crosshairs of grudges her grandmother created long ago. After finding out she is one of two people able to cross between faerie realms, Ashlyn is faced with trying to understand her abilities, along with navigating a new relationship with her boyfriend, Liam.
As if being on a centuries old hit list and dealing with crazed pixies isn’t enough, her new abilities mean trouble for Liam. Knowing her new life puts everyone she loves in danger, Ashlyn must decide what’s most important in her life between friends, family, love, and ultimately, realms.

I'm Dave (David M. Brown) and I'm a fantasy and short story author. I've just released my debut novel Fezariu's Epiphany:
"The White Oak, Clarendon’s oldest brothel, lured and destroyed men by the thousands. Fezariu was different. He had never been drawn by the White Oak’s vices but the brothel had still ruined him when he was just a boy. Salvation came in the form of the Merelax Mercenaries – Elenchera’s most prestigious hired hands. They gave Fezariu the chance to escape from his past. Immersed in the world of dangerous assignments in the colonies Fezariu longed to forget everything about his childhood but only in facing the past would he ever be free of it."

Caroline Hill, a fragile woman who's seen more than her share of heartbreak, has just been released into the "real" world by the Bayshore Mental Institution, an aging facility recently doomed to closure. Trembling with fear after nine years of incarceration, at the age of twenty-six Caroline is armed only with a handful of memorized phrases from her psychiatrist and a small bag of hand-me-down clothing. She shows up as pre-arranged to a rooming house with a nosy landlady and her marginally challenged nephew, Harold. Once settled, Caroline makes her entrance at Frank's, a local diner in the small town of St. Simeon, Canada where a dishwashing job awaits her.
Although the Bayshore institution offered safety and familiarity, Caroline is determined not to fail. The last thing she wants is to return to the place where she shared a room with a woman who clicked imaginary knitting needles 24/7.
Caroline's timing is unfortunate, because the day she arrives in town, a serial killer has left yet another victim for police. And it so happens, the first victim - an aspiring actress on the verge of a breakthrough - lived across the hall from Caroline's new room. Police and neighbors wonder - could the killer be someone in the rooming house? How did he gain access to the facility? How did he know the first woman? And the second? Both victims were pretty young ladies with brunette hair and blue eyes, Caroline's exact appearance.
The mystery and suspense in this novel is outstanding, truly top notch, in the vein of Mary Higgins Clark, but - dare I say - even better? What really struck me as brilliant was Ms. Hovey's ability to paint the picture of an innocent, a woman who'd been raised by an institutional staff since the age of seventeen, when a horrendous event tore her heart out and separated her from reality. Caroline's inner thoughts, her hesitant and sometimes awkward speech, the turmoil she feels with each simple step toward freedom, her frail courage...each of these felt real and authentic. I grew incredibly fond of this protagonist, and with each brave step she took, I found myself cheering her on.
When Caroline notices a man following her, she wants to tell someone, but what ex-mental patient wouldn't be afraid to share this news, knowing they'd probably classify her as paranoid and maybe send her back to Bayshore? She squares her shoulders and fights through the fear, soldiering on.
Against the backdrop of Caroline's painful yet courageous re-entry into society, the low growling drumbeat of violence escalates. More women die, and the pattern heats up. We are given glimpses inside the mind of a seriously sick killer, and realize his delusions stretch far into his past. When Caroline becomes embroiled in the middle of the killer's elaborate and insane plot to return to a chapter in his history where he was once happy, the action escalates and takes us on a heart-pounding rollercoaster ride to a satisfying finish.
Joan Hall Hovey has written yet another winner. I highly recommend it to any lover of suspense, mystery, romance, or thriller. You'll not only race through this book, but clamor for more works by this talented and polished author.

In the technological dystopia of New Delta, the Avian Syndicate, a criminal empire made up entirely of large purple birds, wants the one thing they can't steal. To get it, they recruit an abused goblin shaman, cast out from her people; with her help, they devise a daring plan that no one sees coming.
Standing in their way is Alfonso Deegan, a grizzled but happily married private detective, and his three associates: Quintanelle Fillion, a young elven mage far from home trying to overcome her racist upbringing; Mordridakon, a red dragon with few social skills and an endless appetite; And Trogg the Genius, the world's smartest ogre.
Together the detectives must work quickly to defuse the situation before the Syndicate destroys New Delta, or long standing prejudices do it for them.
And

New Deltan megacorp Biogenomics sends Alfonso Deegan, Quintanelle Fillion, Trogg the Genius and Eluna across Hominia to a remote city-state called the City of Sands to expose a dangerous blackmailer. Meanwhile, Mordridakon must stay behind to solve a related murder of a private detective.
But when it very quickly becomes clear who the real villain ultimately is, they all turn their focus to stopping Biogenomics. But taking on Biogenomics isn't like taking on the Avian Syndicate. A megacorp has the political means to stop the detectives without resorting to destruction.
And if those avenues fail, they can really get nasty in order to prevent their horrifying secrets from being revealed...

"Pii is a child prodigy, his best friend is the heir to the planets, he shares his home with a warrior and a ballerina, and to top it off he’s in love with a Gipsie, could his life get any more strange?
The school year is just starting on the sparkling crystal planet at Niula College and Pii is about to learn just how bizarre it can get. A small drop of blood changes his and his friend’s lives forever.
A gripping adventure into fantasy as eight young college students find their way into the Evensongs and discover a power beyond their imaginations."
“Lost in the Evensongs” is the second book in the series ‘The Evensongs Trilogy’. It is not the sequel, but the comparison story, bringing both sets of characters to the same place in time. It can be read before or after “Quest of the Evensongs” (though I like it after), creating the harmony for “Chorus of the Evensongs” due out the in fall of 2011.

My most recent book is Nachtsturm Castle: A Gothic Austen Novel which is a paranormal romance set in the Alps, as a sequel to Jane Austen's "Northanger Abbey."
I'm also working on continuing my high fantasy sequence of the Twelve Kingdoms, which began with Niamh and the Hermit, and continued in Charming the Moon. Unfortunately, life interfered and so the upcoming novel, ShadowQueen is somewhat delayed.
I'm just starting to explore Goodreads, so you can check out my page here or you please drop by http://www.christianfantasy.net/emily...!

Soul Protector is a fast-paced fantasy romance with twists and turns to leave you wanting more. In part one of the Soul Protector series, Gracie discovers she can switch into other people's bodies. Unaware she has a visible aura, she gets abducted by a monitor, Dan. He introduces Gracie to the world of Soul Protectors and although she admires what they do, she isn't brave enough to embrace switching for herself. She falls for Dan, but finds he has hang-ups of his own. When Gracie does finally pluck up the courage to switch again, she uncovers a dark secret, and it shocks her to the core.

I'm Eden and my book,

But Amazon just promo'd it and the last I checked, it was at #13 overall in ebooks and is #2 in both fantasy and contemporary fantasy :D
I have 5-6 spots to climb to pass the book ahead of me in my subcategories and, even if it's only for one hour, I'd LOVE to be #1 since the sequel is coming out next month!
Anyway, this isn't the normal blurb At All, but I'm getting sick of seeing the same one over and over :P
This blurb is for when I was considering changing the cover and promoting it as paranormal romance rather than dark or urban fantasy (I'm still not quite sure which one it is... probably dark).
"No longer bound by the world of humans and its ridiculous societal norms, Kellyn is free to fulfill her unlimited potential, her existence, and her destiny. The truth has been spoken.
The changes are immediate ... a love is lost, a friendship strained, a family torn apart ... but she knows it is all worth it once she leaves that world for good and lays eyes on her one and only.
His existence and adoration, along with the introduction of two other friends, forces an unbreakable strength into Kellyn's new faith and life.
With the chance to act as an angel of death and save countless others, she feels all is as it should be. Love is a power which most underestimate. It will see her through anything that lies ahead.
But she must remain in charge. And she must stay sane in this new land. Its beauty is undeniable and even the air is refreshing and light—but in that air hangs the weight of stolen human emotions. Once they are visible, they then become tangible … and inescapable.
Above all, Kellyn cannot let the pride of her purpose change prophetic plans. To do so would be acting god-like, when her place is simply to help make a more beautiful world. One of truth, justice, and untainted, pure feelings.
The human once inside of her is gone ... but with new friendships, untapped powers, and a love unlike any other, the raw wounds of betrayal, sacrifice, death, and lies are fresh in her heart.
Even under the best of circumstances, the strongest, most righteous beings can Fall."
Oh, and it's not just free on Amazon
it's also free on B&N
&& Smashwords
(and being on Smashwords makes every other place like Sony, iBooks, etc... free as well)
So, anywhere you go, you won't have to pay for the ebook of The Abandoned Edge of Avalon :)
(But I'm hoping most people use either Kindle or a Kindle app so I can stay up in the rankings!!)
Thanks for this group and category!

Greetings.
Puramore is a science fiction novel that presents a utopian view of the future. It follows the tradition of "Doctor Who" in melding unconventional science fiction with zany characters and plot settings. The plot setting takes place between the latter part of the 20th century and the middle part of the 21st.
Mankind has only two choices after science and technology renders the species utterly obsolete and incapable of survival in the future. One choice compels humanity to submit body and soul to a sinister supernatural civilisation, whilst the other impels mankind to submit to a utopian bioengineering paradigm. .
General Sir George Smythe battles Wingtip and his spirit forces to turn the tide of mankind's survival dilemma to their favour. In order to prevail against their mortal and immortal foe, they must marshal all their intellectual resources to overcome Wingtip's spiritual advantage.
Puramore can be wielded only one more time. And only a paragon of mankind is fit to wield the Puramore to defeat mankind's archenemy.
Will George Smythe prove himself worthy to wield Puramore?
My sci-fi novel was published last May. Hardcover and paperback editions are available through all major online booksellers worldwide. A fine ePub edition can be downloaded through Goodreads.

Sydney, a street urchin and pickpocket in the town of Last Hope, has managed to evade the oppressive Guild for years, but there is no escaping fate when she's sentenced to death for associating with the resistance. After she's rescued by a wizard, Sydney is forced to accept that magic-long outlawed throughout the Kingdom of Thanumor-still exists, and the Tuatha, a powerful faery folk, are much more than ancient myth and legend. When the wizard offers a chance to fight the Guild and bring Willem, bastard prince and champion of the Tuatha, to the throne, Sydney embraces the cause as a way to find her own redemption. But Sydney's fear of the Guild, distrust of authority, and surprising connection to the Tuatha threaten Willem's success. Can she untangle the strange threads that entwine her life not only to the fate of the kingdom, but also to Willem himself?

It takes place in an era when humans have pretty much given up on finding any meaning in life. When an imperialistic alien species attacks, humanity barely puts up any fight at all. The main character, however, is a "human fanatic" fighting in a last-ditch guerilla war against the invaders. He's not a superheroic badass, but he is determined and driven and more than a little unbalanced.
Be warned: There are a few graphic action sequences!

Back cover matter:
The Faerie King has entered into a pact with the demon lord, trading his people's freedom for the might to conquer the nine realms. Two unlikely allies are determined to stop him: Asherah, enslaved by demons, and Caol'nir, a warrior sworn to defend the king.
When Asherah, stripped of both her memory and her dignity, learns that King Sahlgren is responsible for her captivity, she leads her fellow slaves in a daring escape and burns their prison to the ground. Then she learns that there are many more prisons across Parthalan, and embarks upon a campaign to free every last faerie.
In stark contrast to Asherah's struggles, Caol'nir lives the comfortable life of a temple guard. He is sworn to serve and defend the king, as his ancestors have done since time immemorial. Now a priestess has been murdered, and Caol'nir learns that Sahlgren's scheming is to blame. Determined to thwart the king, sacred oath or no, Caol'nir joins Asherah's rebellion. What Caol'nir doesn't know is that Sahlgren has promised the demon lord a woman of rare and singular beauty, a woman who is rumored to be the sun god's daughter. She also happens to be Caol'nir's mate.

Your book looks very interesting...right up my alley of books! I think I might have to add it to my list of "too read" books.

I'm Phillip, and I'm the author of Liberator's Ruin, a fantasy/steampunk adventure.

Nathaniel An’Rieyr is the captain of the airship Storm Brother and profiteer extraordinaire. He dreams of making his fortune in the lucrative southern trade routes. But to achieve that, he will need to get involved in a war he has made a career of avoiding.

I re-released "Travels to Fahdamin-Ra" as an ebook and soft cover. It is the first book in the Fahdamin-Ra series.

Is now at: #1,851
#1 Fairy Tales
#8 Dark Fantasy
#18 Mythology

Basic summary: Because the story is complex and I can't say much without giving plot twists away, I can tell you that it's about a girl named Lutoyia who is taunted and hated by the people of her city. They chase her out of the city everyday in an attempt to get her to leave but she always returns. Finally, one day she is captured from the pack of teenagers that hunts her and a brutal assault ensues. Lutoyia is knocked unconscious and the hunting party leaves her in the forest. When she wakes up she meets a dragon named Falkor. Falkor offers Lutoyia the chance to get away from the humans and explore the magical side of their world. But this offer comes with some strings - their quest involves trying to fight a Dark Mage Lakardos who is planning on bleeding a demonic dimension into their world, extinguishing the good. The second string is that Lutoyia must prove to Falkor that she is the vessel to his dead brother's soul - a Dragonsoul. Lutoyia meets a variety of characters in the book that can relate to people in life, as well as Lutoyia to some readers.
DragonSoul is available on amazon, barnes and noble and the Authorhouse bookstore. Formats include paperback, hardcover and ebook.
I hope any future readers enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it!
And thanks for letting me be a part of this group!

My debut YA fantasy novel is Children of Aerthwheel. It's the first in a series called "The Godblood Saga."
Lonely Andrew Fish realizes something evil has followed new middle school student Greta Del Sol to his hometown; worse, it is somehow awakening behemoth creatures in the areas surrounding Little Tree, Missouri.
As this mysterious darkness settles into the community, Andrew begins to discover that his own family is somehow connected to the evil magic that stalks Greta and that the town of Little Tree itself may be a gateway that separates two completely different realms.
Andrew's secret heritage may be the key to keeping the two worlds apart. Or, he may be instrumental in bringing them crashing together.

With the kingdom of Bolognia under attack by independent forces of random malcontents, it's time to send out the army to deal with these troublemakers, right? No, first there's money to be made! Send out the adventurers, those rogues who wander the countryside in search of fame and treasure, and take up all the good seats at the local pubs. Then, organize brackets, stage it for the public's entertainment, offer a prize and call it The Adventure Tournament.
Remy Fairwyn is a ne'er-do-well academic who really wants to become an adventurer. When he hears of the tournament, he jumps at the opportunity, only to find himself out of the frying pan and in the fire. Add ingredients like corrupt organizations, professional wrestlers, narcoleptic thieves, drama kings and malfunctioning magical minutia, and his venture quickly becomes a recipe for disaster. Nevertheless, he blunders his way into being the captain of his own team. Now he can follow his dream, but still has to contend with obstacles such as tournament organizers whose motives may not be clean, an overbearing father holding him to academic pursuits, and his own nonsensical noggin, which is better suited for a pack mule than a dashing hero. Still, he's determined to become the biggest badass warrior to ever wield a large piece of wood.
As the competition heats up, Remy discovers that the tournament itself could be putting the kingdom in danger, and it's up to him to uncover the truth before destruction consumes all he holds dear.

Follow the cursed Cripple of Kilten into a world where crooked dark cities have tunnels instead of streets and clusters of dragon-scaled towers are the abode of seers living in the greatest city of all. A thick fog of fear rises when the immortals who lived in secret among humans stir; and sorcerers fight for a deadly but powerful staff in a circle of combat in a bid for ultimate power. It is a struggle of the mortals against the immortals, and it all gets complicated when the cripple finds out that he too is an immortal.

Here is my new short story The Colors of Qua

This is a story about what it truly means to be punished, and how sometimes redemption can only be found if you go after it yourself.
Sofia exists in a world between the living and dead, and she must help the souls of the deceased transition to whatever comes next. Although Sofia takes pride in her work, she still believes she is being punished for the secret she keeps inside. When she meets a man who can actually see her, everything changes. Now she must be willing to give up everything she knows in order to find the one thing she so desperately seeks – redemption.

It’s the age-old tale of boy meets alien abductor. Boy meets stun-gun. Boy learns he’s the only one in the Universe who can save the Earth from extreme world makeover by inter-stellar landlords.
Yeah: he thinks it’s a bit much, too.
Like everyone else on his planet, Bertram Ludlow hasn’t paid much attention to fluctuations in the intergalactic real estate market. But as a cognitive psychology grad student, he has given some thought to what a complete mental breakdown looks like. And this is pretty close.
Now he’s discovering space is a mad and mind-boggling place where interspecies communication rests on the power of a gumball. Where androids demand better work/life balance. Where crime is Art, technology still has its bugs, and lasers don’t go “pyew-pyew.”
It’s also surprisingly easy to get on the Universe’s Most Wanted list.
So with the weight of the world on his shoulders and the cosmic law on his tail, can Bertram outrun, outwit, and out-bid to save the Earthling squatters from one spaced-out redevelopment plan?
I'm pleased to be here and look forward to interacting with you all.

The first out is The Unraveling which is a murder suspense where sages are being targeted and killed which really disrupts planetary stability. The sequel will be available in about a month.
There are currently four books completed in the series. You can read more about them at: http://www.sageseedchronicles.com
