Hi all, just trying to get the word out about the debut novel in my Eve of Redemption series, called Salvation's Dawn. Blurb to follow:
"The War was over, the Devil Queen cast down.
In the wake of the Apocalypse, veteran demonhunter Karian Vanador understands that the vigilance of her Order means there is rarely any time to rest. Even with a paragon of evil cast down, it isn't long before another rears its head, and for Kari, the War never ends. She will head into danger again, for it is the life she's chosen and the only path she really knows. Along the way she will face the tests of friendship, the fires of love, the heat of battle, and the limits of her faith, and in those trials, she will seek the answer to her most pressing question:
'Why was I resurrected?'"

I am Kristofer M. Hanson and I recently published The Attuning. THE ATTUNING is my first novel, and it falls in the fantasy genre, but contains strong elements of Sci-Fi.
Aidan Allanson and his best friend Jona Aulgust have turned sixteen and come of age, heading their separate ways as they choose their new paths in life. Aidan, trained by his father in martial arts, follows in his elder's footsteps by joining the Royal Guard of Allbron. Jona and his twin sister possess the skill to become Mystics, magic users with the ability to control the elements. Four years later, all three have completed their schooling and moved on to their professions, distinguishing themselves through valor and talent.
Summary:
Aidan Allanson and his best friend Jona Aulgust have turned sixteen and come of age, heading their separate ways as they choose their new paths in life. Aidan, trained by his father in martial arts, follows in his elder's footsteps by joining the Royal Guard of Allbron. Jona and his twin sister possess the skill to become Mystics, magic users with the ability to control the elements. Four years later, all three have completed their schooling and moved on to their professions, distinguishing themselves through valor and talent.
When Jona’s sister, Jenna, is found to possess the ability to control a new form of Mysticism, she is kidnapped by the land’s most nefarious Mystic. Aidan and Jona join forces in a rescue attempt which sets them in the middle of a war between their home nation and its greatest rival. Meanwhile, this war is being watched and manipulated by a force of unimaginable power, a power that will bring the nations of their land to their knees and destroy the entire world as they know it.
I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I had writing it.

Hello, Sophie!

My name is J.D. Begley. I've been a fan of Fantasy and Science Fiction since I was a boy. I've recently jumped into this vast pool of literature with a novel of my own. It's the first in a Trilogy.
The Winter Blade
Synopsis:
A neighboring kingdom launches a surprise attack upon the Clanlands, seemingly unaffected by the freezing winter. During the attack, childhood friends Graven and Tevlin get caught in an avalanche and separated from each other. Both think the other is lost or dead. Graven gets dug out of the snow by a mysterious arctic fox with green eyes. Tevlin is rescued by an enemy soldier. They both struggle to find their way back to their people and help fight the invasion. Along the way they make new friends and allies and Graven discovers the power he holds within him to change everything.
Book two is currently being written.

I published my first book, Will of Fate: Dual Court Kiss I, one month ago tomorrow! While it has been relatively successful with downloads, I am having a hard time getting readers to actually post reviews. Typical indie author problem, I know.
So, I was wondering if any readers would be interested in receiving a copy of Will of Fate (I can provide you a copy or you can download one for free with Kindle Unlimited).
It is a young adult/new adult fantasy romance.
If interested, please message or email me at samantha.britt.author@gmail.com
I, myself, am very big on reviewing indie author's works in order to get them some traction. I'll keep searching this group for books I'm interested in to pay it forward! :)
Thanks for your time in reading this! :)
Samantha

I have just finished writing a series of 7 short(ish) stories, revolving around a king whose newborn son is considered unfit as an heir and, as tradition dictates, should be killed.
The king, Sultes, is determined to defy tradition and protect his baby, but his good intentions become increasingly twisted into dark actions as the world around him resists change.
The series is set in a world where each person is comprised of three Cards, and each Card influences their personality and physical appearance. The consequences of the king's actions coincide with the re-emergence of magic, with dark and grand results.
The first of the series is The Shorthand Prince, and with all 7 stories published I'm now looking to find out what people think, so that I can improve. That doesn't mean I'm looking for reviews (although I'd love that!) but I want to talk with other authors, and the wealth of discerning readers that exist in the fantasy genre, about whatever it is they think makes a book enjoyable to read.
With my books finished, I have loads of time on my hands now, so please get in touch :)
Tom

It's a heroic sword and sorcery tale with a Germanic flavour. Below is some blurb on it. I hope you enjoy it and if you fancy having a chat with me about it, or anything fantasy, feel free to knock on my door!

Demonheart Blurb
Vogel is a spy for the Teutonic Order who spends his time chasing down villains and indulging his love for good beer.
Life is good and uncomplicated.
Or so he thought until he’s dragged before the Bishop of Rittershafen and the Grand Master of the Teutonic Order. There have been two murders, he is told, two priests. The chief suspect is a possessed novice. Find him and bring him in, unharmed! How difficult can that be? After all, Vogel is good at tracking down people. But the supernatural may be involved, so the Church are going to provide him with the necessary muscle to deal with it.
Enter Stefan von Stern, a Teutonic Templar and divinely-aided arse kicker built like a brick cowshed with a crap sense of humour and a sword arm like an anvil. He’s also Vogel’s right hand man on this job.
Alex von Plauen is a member of the Sword Brethren Order, templars and renowned martial mystics. He too has been assigned to babysit the spy. And, God knows, Vogel’s going to need them!
He’s going to need their help to navigate the supernatural world he’s about to be plunged into and they’ll need him to help steer them through the murky machinations of the underworld. Together, the trio are going to storm through the city of Rittershafen until they come face to face with the nightmarish and frightening power of sorcery and by the end Vogel is going to make strange and powerful new friends, but most of all he is going to have the adventure of his life.
And he is going to love it!

I have a Fantasy novel called 'The Gates of Hell' and wondered if it was worth posting a chapter up at a time for people to read? Cracking in at over 150K it's a proper book and I'm just finishing it off ready for publication, but thought I'd give something back to the Goodreads community. The first chapter is up on the site if anyone fancies having a quick read? https://www.goodreads.com/story/show/...
I would love any comments.
This a far cry from first novel, which is general fiction lashed with loads of humour ... but when the muse takes you, you have to just go with the flow. Anyway, please feel free to let me know your thoughts. This is a proper read for those that like to immerse themselves (which includes me!) in a world outside of their own. Set in both Saxon times and in the present day, it follows a group of different characters who are all linked but just don't know it.
Best to you all,
Dave.

I live in the mountains of South Africa's Garden Route in a self-built, off-the-grid home that borders on the indigenous forests that are the inspiration for my writing.
I'd love to engage with other fantasy authors in mutual book reviews. As a complete newbie, I'm also here to learn as much as I can.

We like to help out authors out there and enjoy reading books!

Hello Everyone,
I’m Russell, a member of Goodreads since 2013.
My debut YA fantasy novel is Edward & Amelia: The Vampire King.

You can check out reviews and sample chapters on Amazon and
Goodreads.
And now, Ye Olde Booke Blurbe:
Edward doesn’t know why his father left, but when John Lockheart doesn’t return as promised, his son is determined to find him. With a pocket watch that can stop time and a backpack full of camping gear, Edward is ready for the journey to Midhbar. He’s willing to go alone, but glad to have Amelia along, even if she’s kind of bossy.
Amelia is angry at her dad and skeptical about going to look for him, but when her little brother opens a magical portal in their backyard, Amelia isn’t going to let Edward go by himself -- even if it means traveling to another world in her pajamas. Amelia is used to taking care of her smart, impractical brother, but when they reach Midhbar, Amelia has to follow Edward for a change.
Herodotus “Harry” Greenspun is the wizard who invented sunspheres to protect Westering, a walled town on the edge of the wilderlands, from vampires. Harry has gone missing, and his tower full of strange experiments is locked up tight, but Solomon Cozen and his son, Giles, will do anything to get inside. When Edward Lockheart demonstrates some unusual abilities, the Cozens persuade Edward to help them by offering information about his father. Solomon believes that John and Harry are both prisoners of the Vampire King.
Erik Magnusson is an ex-soldier with superhuman strength and endurance. After avenging the death of his wife, Erik tried to leave his violent past behind when he moved across the kingdom with his son and his best friend. Erik became the owner of The White Hart, the best (and only) tavern in Westering, and is also one of the town’s best defenders. After saving the Lockhearts from vampires, Erik promises to help the siblings find their father, but Erik’s dark past is catching up to him in a horrible, yet familiar form.
Torvald Magnusson is Erik’s teenaged son. Tor is devoted to his father, but knows Erik has secrets, and a lot of weapons locked in his room. Erik doesn’t want his son to follow in his footsteps, but Tor is eager to prove himself to his father somehow. When the Lockhearts arrive in Westering, Tor is intrigued by Amelia, but finds he can’t help her and obey his father at the same time.
Collum Dan Art, known as “Collie,” is a powerful, ancient shapeshifter, Erik’s best friend and a second father to Torvald. Collie holds his friendship with the Magnussons above all, even though it caused him to part ways with his companion, the formidable Rava. Collie doesn’t want to believe Rava is helping the Vampire King, but why did she steal Edward’s pocket watch?
The Vampire King is leaving his serpentine mark on doors and bodies all over the wilderlands. A mysterious leader with the powers of a wizard, the Vampire King is uniting the solitary vampires of Midhbar for coordinated attacks. With his vicious undead army on the ground and giant, eyeless ravens ruling the skies, the Vampire King is preparing to destroy all life on Midhbar. And that's just the beginning of his plan.

Been enjoying the conversations and offerings in various genres.
Just wanted to let everyone know that my wife's contest-winning short story, The Dragon Catcher, is available as a classically illustrated ebook for 99 cents. It's a different kind of dragon-tale.
Hope you enjoy it.
G.K. Werner

A dying wizard, a thousand years of spells poised to fade with him, and a kingdom that will likely follow if a successor is not found. Too bad the most likely candidate has no idea he's a wizard.

The Secrets of Yashire: Emerging From the Shadows is a young adult fantasy adventure that occurs within the framework of a young girl’s subconscious mind. The main character, Brianna, finds herself thrown into a world called Yashire where she is forced to deal with circumstances that are threatening Yashire’s existence. Against her will, she is sent on a journey to restore unconditional love back to the land while also contending with the evil force in the land, Zolan. Brianna is sent on her mission by Libban, Keeper of the Land. Along the way, Brianna travels with the mystical tiger, Angelos; a huge, whitish-tan tiger with thick black stripes who sings only the purest songs of love, and the wondrous little one-eyed bird named Abiba. During the journey, Brianna is also preparing to meet her soulmate—the one she longs to be with and the one who will bring complete healing back into her life. Together they travel through fantastic lands filled with magical creatures that could only exist in the wildest of imaginations. Through her treacherous brushes with danger and heartwarming experiences of love and acceptance, Brianna discovers many things. It is here, amidst the powers and phantasms of the mind that Brianna receives life lessons and virtues to help her. Will one of her greatest triumphs be achieved as she learns to believe in herself? For only then can she truly see all of the wondrous things that life has to offer.

Would love to hear from anyone who has read them or would like to read them.

I'm Mark Gelineau and my writing partner is Joe King. We're two long-time friends taking our shot as professional authors and attempting something relatively ambitious. We are releasing a fantasy novella every month.
Every. Single. Month.
The two of us decided to focus on writing shorter books because we feel that's what fit into our lives (both reading and writing!) and we think we're not alone in this.
There will be four series, all taking place in the same fantasy world of Aedaron. Each series will focus on different characters, and have a different feel to it.
The first one,A Reaper of Stone

A Lady is dead. Her noble line ended. And the King’s Reaper has come to reclaim her land and her home. In the marches of Aedaron, only one thing is for certain. All keeps of the old world must fall.
Elinor struggles to find her place in the new world. She once dreamed of great things. Of becoming a hero in the ways of the old world. But now she is a Reaper. And her duty is clear. Destroy the old. Herald the new.
A Reaper of Stone is our classic, cavalier story. The next novella comes out October 15, just in time for Halloweeen, and is more dark fantasy/horror.
Looking forward to getting to know you all, authors, reviewers, and readers alike, here.

Back of the Book:
The sliver of moonlight cast eerie shadows across the deck of The Dark Revenge. The Silence at the helm stood embracing the obscurity. His foreboding presence matched the anticipation aboard the ship, and no one spoke for fear they would break the stillness that encompassed them.
Tonight, everything changed.
The Dark Revenge gained on the Regatta. The raiders said nothing but he could hear the shuffle of taut female clothing and the tension in the air. It hadn’t sensed their existence, and drifted like heedless prey. Princess Roxana slept, unsuspecting of what was hunting her in the inky blackness of the night.
There was only one thing on the minds of The Silence’s crew as they drew near; Hang the Kings, Crown the People.
I have 2 other fantasy books out and a coauthored book coming out in the next month. I also have an urban sci-fi that is coming out September 2016. Let's just say I am a busy bee!

I also have finished the second book in the series and am currently editing that while I work on my 3rd, of which I am almost 1/3rd of the way through.

I am Viv Sang, writing under the name of V.M.Sang. I have 2 fantasy novels in print and as e-books. They are parts 1 and 2 of The Wolves of Vimar Series. I am currently editing Book 3.
I live in the UK, about 6 miles from the south coast. I like arts and crafts as well as writing.
My fantasy series tells of a group of disparate characters who are destined to save the land of Grosmer from a threat that is unknown until the second book. A prophecy has told of the need to find a legendary sword that will be needed to overcome this threat.
The second book tells how the group is split and follows half of them. They discover what the threat is and why the sword is needed.
I have received two 5 star reviews for Book1. One on Amazon.com and one on Amazon.co.uk. (Unfortunately, amazon doesn't see fit to share them.)
I am currently editing Book 3, which follows the other half of the companions.

The Sound of the Stones
The ancient book about the past holds the future. Frankie is the key.

Kshatput, a young cowherd from Lachvi, an ancient Himalayan village that existed in 249 B.C. travels to an alien planet Seabor where he meets people with supernatural powers. The aliens re-engineer his DNA and wake up his soul and yoke it to their own souls. Kshatput learns that the material universe and all the living souls in it have descended from an ancient divine world - the bor! The bor died to give birth to the universe! The people of Seabor know its divine tale and are a part of it. It is time that the people of Earth also became a part of it! But, that can truly happen only when the DNA of all humans is re-engineered and their souls are woken up like Kshatput's was done! Kshatput is now ready to travel back to Earth and begin the glorious and divine task! A minor complication exists, though! More than 2000 years have passed since Kshatput left Lachvi! The first part of the book is based in the ancient Himalayas- it tells the story of Kshatput when he was still a young cowherd of the village Lachvi, sometime in 249 B.C. The second part of the book is based in modern India- the time is 2049 AD, i.e. when Kshatput has traveled back to Earth! The third part of the book is the tale of the divine bor, as told by Kshatput to a team of leading scientists on Earth!
I have received three reviews that have rated the book 5/5 and they are as below:
Review by: Sharad on Oct. 14, 2015 :
This book is a brilliant and outstanding work of fiction on the subject which I would call as the world of UNKNOWN OR DIVINE. It is imaginative story of a very high order. The amazing narrative is so very thought provoking and engrossing that it literally takes you out of the UNIVERSE AND BEYOND and holds you there even after the narrative ends. A very valuable and interesting contribution to fiction.
Review by: Bart Lapinski on Oct. 12, 2015 :
Just read it. This is one of those books that keeps you reading until morning. Probably one of the most original stories I've seen. It's charming, alien, innovative, interesting, thought-provoking. And as a person whose hobby includes astronomy, cosmology and astrophysics (I remember one equation, mind you, Einstein's), I say it's gorgeous.

Review by: Farrokh on Oct. 10, 2015 :
Opened the link to this new book to oblige a friend. And, discovered that the read blew me out of this universe. Literally. Very very amazing. Wonder what Stephen Hawking would say if he read this.
The reviews have been excellent, but since the book revolves around the bor - an abstract world that existed before the birth of the universe- I know it is not an easy read! Therefore, I request honest feedback that will help me put up an improved version 2! It may be noted that this book is the first one of a series! Sequels will expand on the storyline further! I hope to read the books of other authors here and give them my feedback too! Thanks/regards J Anita

My name is Aileen Morris and I've just published a young adult fantasy book called The Darkness of Peoh. It's the first in a trilogy. I got the idea to write it when I was watching The Wizard of Oz, so are there are some definite similarities to that story. It's about a girl named Dorothy ;) who has to leave her little gray home for a strange new place - only my character has been recruited to work in a dangerous, filthy mine! Along the way, she makes new friends and has to contend with the strict laws of Peoh's government.
If you're interested in my book, it is available on Amazon.

Here's short blurb: The epic tale of two men begins. The first - a man of honor trying desperately to turn his country from civil war. The other - a boy struggling to discover his destiny before agents of evil find him first.
Coveted by two ancient enemies of a long forgotten age, the continent of Andara holds the key to victory in an endless struggle for dominance...

Set in an alternate history Celtic kingdom that began with Boudicca driving out the Romans--with possible assistance from the Fae and also from druids using forbidden magics.
This book is a coming of age tale for a character (and supporting cast) taken from Welsh and Irish myth. My hope is that it will appeal to people who loved things like Narnia and the Prydain stories but are now adults or very nearly so.
