Susan (boswellbaxter) Please post your nomination here; nominations will close on November 25, and voting will close on November 30. (That should give the USA members plenty of time to digest their turkey.) This month, let's keep it simple and limit nominations to historical fiction concerning the Plantagenets.

I'll nominate Jean Plaidy's The Plantagenet Prelude to start us off. It's out of print in the US, but Amazon has multiple copies available for a couple of bucks.

Barb I'd like to nominate
'Treason' by Meredith Whitford
I've had it on my TBR list for a long time
and if it's chosen I will have to read it!

Must figure out if there's something in the pile that has Plantagenets in it. Treason is good though.

message 4: by Erin (new)

Erin Germain (demiguise) | 15 comments My TBR pile is much smaller than all of yours, I think, at least in terms of anything related to the Plantagenets. :) I'd like to offer up Eleanor the Queen by Norah Lofts to the list.

message 5: by Terry (new)

Terry | 6 comments I would like to nominate The Adventures Of Alianore Audley by Brian Wainwright. Lots of fun discussion.

message 6: by Bella (new)

Bella (Bellamar) | 1 comments I would like to second Eleanor the Queen by Nora Loft

message 7: by Susan (new)

Susan (boswellbaxter) And the winner is . . .

The Adventures Of Alianore Audley by Brian Wainwright

Brian is a member of the group, so perhaps he'll join us for the discussion in January!

message 8: by Barb (new)

Barb Oh, fun!
Yay!

message 9: by Brian (new)

Brian (brianwainwright) | 27 comments I am honoured beyond words!
I just hope no one expects me to explain all the jokes as I've forgotten the basis of half of it.

This will be fun.

message 11: by Terry (new)

Terry | 6 comments I am so looking forward to this especially with Brian taking part!

message 12: by Erin (new)

Erin Germain (demiguise) | 15 comments Looking forward to it! *heads off to get a copy*

message 13: by Jennifer (JC-S) (new)

Jennifer (JC-S) (jenniferjc-s) Fun indeed! I'll see if I can obtain a copy.

I think I got it up. Let me know what the actual dates are and I can fix that as well as folder changes if needed.

message 15: by Susan (new)

Susan (boswellbaxter) Thanks, Misfit! Actual read begins on January 1 and runs through the end of the month, I guess.

Got it. This way, the group should receive an email shortly before the start date.

message 17: by Erin (new)

Erin Germain (demiguise) | 15 comments Just curious, because I'm fine with this book, but when and where was the voting, as I didn't see any of that?

message 18: by Susan (new)

Susan (boswellbaxter) There was a poll (it's still on the page) that was conducted at the end of November. I sent out invitations to group members to vote on it.

message 19: by Pat (new)

Pat | 1 comments Finally, this book is waiting at the library for me. Can't wait to get started.

message 20: by Viviane (new)

Viviane Crystal | 5 comments This is my first time on this group discussion. Do you read and discuss the entire book or do it in parts? When will the discussion start? Looking forward to this discussion. Happy New Year all!

message 21: by Susan (new)

Susan (boswellbaxter) It's officially set to start on January 1, but there's already a thread where you can ask Brian Wainwright questions.

This is our first discussion. It's a short book, and this is a smallish group, so I think it's best to discuss the entire book instead of dividing it into parts. But if anyone else has a preference otherwise, just post.

message 22: by Terry (new)

Terry | 6 comments I just finished this wonderful book and can't wait to discuss! I will be away until Jan. 11th but will jump into the fray when I return. Happy reading everyone!

message 23: by Erin (new)

Erin Germain (demiguise) | 15 comments My copy should be arriving from Amazon tomorrow(ish). I can't wait to start reading, as it sounds like a very fun read.

message 24: by Jenny (new)

Jenny Q (jenny_q) | 11 comments I'm in! I've heard good things about this book. Just ordered my copy and should be here in a couple of days. Looking forward to it!
