Good luck, and welcome to the challenge! Fall was my first. Hope you love it!

Thanks!
I am sure to love this challenge -- though my family is sure to hate that I am doing it!

Plus sometimes folks do refer to books that they own being on a physical bookshelf at home. I know I mean that when I say that I've cleared another off my shelf. :-)

Ashley, it is totally addicting! My daughter actually picks up her picture books and likes to sit next to me while I read sometimes. My husband is a bookworm, so really, it has just gotten me to watch less tv and make more trips to the library ;P

Sara, you've brought back memories...
when my daughter was young she would sit next to me when I read too, and I was feeling guilty about not spending time "with" her while I was reading so when she was about 4, I started reading children's chapter books to her. We started with "B" Is for Betsy and went through the entire series, then on to the Little House books, then on to Anne of Green Gables, and many, many other series- Boxcar Children, Narnia, Madeline L'Engle etc. As she learned to read, we alternated paragraphs, then pages, then chapters. This became our summer thing to do, with nothing new on tv we couldn't wait until dark to start to read. This lasted well into high school. She still calls from college with "Mom, you've got to hear this sentence..." I think it helped her become a true reader and kept us both away from too much tv.

Thanks for the hints Dlmrose! My daughter is 2 1/2 right now. She loves her books! She came home from Nana's today from spending the weekend and the first thing she told me when I asked her what she did all weekend was "I read my books Mama!!"
Books mentioned in this topic
Anne of Green Gables (other topics)"B" Is for Betsy (other topics)
I am new to this group and in getting ready for the Winter Challenge, I notice that many people have books on their "Fall Challenge" bookshelf. Is there also a Winter Challenge bookshelf? How do I find it?
Or are these just bookshelves that each person has created for themselves?
I have to admit that the whole bookshelf thing confuses me in general, so that may be part of my problem!
Thanks!
