Why you'd make a good mod: I am active (as stated above) and I will not hesitate to give peopls warnings or ban them for disobeyeing rules and warnings. I will help make topics and keep the grouo active.

My name is Emilio. I'm extremely biased towards free markets, liberty for all, and I deeply admire our founding fathers political principles. I have made 171 comments. I am quite active, in fact it almost seems as if I am the only on my side. I would make a good mod for this group because I have been badly mistreated in this group in the past, so I know exactly what kind of content to be watching for. I shall not tolerate trolls, nor extended one sided posts, since this is very attacking behavior. I shall not hesitate to judge on how a debate is going, and who is winning. Nor shall I hesitate to call a debate over if it is getting out of hand. I shall uphold Goodreads rules as well. My weakness are that I have been mistreated by members, and so will likely watch them a bit more closely on this group. I am also fond of going into the deeper aspects of some debate questions, which makes members upset.

Why you'd make a good mod: I’m good at fact-checking and I’m very open to different view points so I would say I’m relatively unbiased in my moderating.
Any weaknesses you have that are relevant: I have a few friends in this group but again, I try to be as unbiased as possible and would call them out if they were getting out of hand.

How active you are: I check multiple times every day, and am highly active on weekends
Why you'd make a good mod: I consider myself respectful and open-minded, and I believe I can think for myself and am good at fact-checking. I don't think I would be biased in my moderating, and I do look out for people in the minority because I used to be very active in a debate group (on here) where I was the only person with beliefs similar to mine, and I still remember what it felt like. i am also a mod in the debate club, so i have experience.
Any weaknesses you have that are relevant: I have close friends in this group, I don't think this'll be a problem in me calling them out or anything but I thought you should know. i am also not very educated on christianity and don't feel qualified to discuss it, which is a bit specific but christianity is a frequent topic in this group so i feel it may be relevant.

⊹ i am active constantly! i check my notifications very often and log into goodreads multiple times a day.
⊹ i would consider myself a great moderator for the group as i aim to be respectful and mindful of others' opinions. i always fact-check my arguments and put lots of thought into what i have to say. i am very open-minded, and i often tend to see things from an unbiased perspective. in this group i've noticed that some people make arguments yet lack credible resources and evidence, while others will provide essays and reliable sources, which causes frustration for some; i think this can be unproductive in debates and i would address this. i also notice how some may use inappropriate or harmful language towards others, and as a moderator i would report this to the creator, sarah, and responsibly discuss how to move on from that point on, like giving a warning to the member, for example. additionally, as i've called out before, people will often get off-topic in a debate section and the debate starts to fall off the rails and become unproductive. this i would monitor as well!
⊹ potential weaknesses: there are some subjects in which i am not fully educated in, like advanced science and technology, or religion. as i've mentioned, i always like to conduct proper research before arguing, but i may lack important points in these fields.

How active you are: I am quite active in the mornings and nights. I try to be active while in school (9-4) but it can vary. I am pretty active on the weekends!
Why you'd make a great mod: I really aim to be respectful and mindful of other peoples opinions in debates. I also think I'm good at calming down an argument before it escalates to something bigger.
Any weaknesses you have that are relevant: Not being able to be on here some of the times is definitely a weakness. If I were chosen, I would focus more on de-escalating debates and less on debating myself.
