Eva-Marie Nevarez (evamarie3578) | 753 comments I was in the process of helping another librarian when they asked me about the following. I don't read Persian and don't want to mess anything up so I was hoping maybe someone else could combine this Persian listing of P&P with P&P.
Is anyone able to do this for us? Thanks!

".....there is some Persian version of books such as "Pride and Prejudice" has no combination together how can we do it?
here is their links!

and
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1885....
i found that this two books didn't linked because when i was rate one it didn't show for another one!"

I don't understand. The first link is to a book by Anita Shreve. I think maybe you didn't post the whole link.

In general, the first thing to check is whether the two books have the same primary author. If not, that must be changed first.

Eva-Marie Nevarez (evamarie3578) | 753 comments That doesn't make any sense. I checked both links before posting here because I was going to fix it myself.
The author for the second listing was in Persian only while the first link has Austen as the author. I'll go back and double check the message.
But I can't make sure the author is the same because I'm not sure about Austen in Persian.

Eva-Marie Nevarez (evamarie3578) | 753 comments Wow - I have no idea what's happening here but when I checked these two links from my inbox the first one was the Persian P&P and the second was an English P&P. But the first one is Sea Glass here. I'm going to try a direct link from each page.

Eva-Marie Nevarez (evamarie3578) | 753 comments Okay - that seems to have worked. I can't tell if the Persian listing has Austen as the author since I don't read Persian. The Persian listing is missing info too.
I'm at a loss as to why that shows up as Sea Glass when I copied and pasted.

Copy-and-pasting from your inbox will yield incomplete links. The system tries to resolve them, and that sometimes means the wrong ones.

It doesn't actually matter if the Persian book has Austen listed (although I think she was first). I'm not suggesting replacing her name in Farsi; just adding it in English first. That allows it to be combined and makes it easier to find.

Like so.

Eva-Marie Nevarez (evamarie3578) | 753 comments Thanks rivka - I knew Austens name was supposed to be first but I didn't want to do that until I was positive that it was indeed her name in Persian. (Farsi?)
Thanks for doing that - I'll let the member who asked me know. And thanks for letting me know about the copying and pasting - I didn't know that!

Persian and Farsi are the same language. My co-workers all say Farsi; the official lists (like GR's) all seem to say Persian.

Learned that one the hard way!

Eva-Marie Nevarez (evamarie3578) | 753 comments I have seen librarians in here use the term 'Farsi' but I have to admit not having any idea what it was or where the language was used! lol
But that's one reason I really love this group - there's no feeling scared to ask a "stupid" question and I like learning small, maybe useful tidbits like that!
