Dan | 2 comments Hi -

I am a new-minted librarian here and I'm confused by the process for merging different editions of the same title. Is this the same as using the "edit other editions" command, or is there a more thorough way to link these titles?

Thanks,
Dan

Otis Chandler | 315 comments Hi Dan,

The merge function takes two books and makes them one. The combine editions takes two books and displays them as editions of each other, but they each remain as distinct books on the site.

hope that helps!

Dan | 2 comments How is the merge function accessed?

Otis Chandler | 315 comments Its not really intended for much use. To merge two books you delete the one you wanted merged, and it will be merged with the most popular edition. Its mostly intended for books people manually create that duplicate existing books.
