Joanne (joabroda1) | 1709 comments I am going to say, based on the fact that there is nothing else I know of living in the ocean with a tail fin that big and the Essex was attacked by a whale.

This appears to be a breaching whale on the right side, but is small (I don't have the book yet). When you blow up this version, it looks clearer: https://www.ebay.com/itm/126055057454 and other pages when searching for the ISBN
Or: https://www.amazon.com/Vane-Pursuit-C...

Any chance I could use The Newcomer
The Newcomer by Mary Kay Andrews for this?

Pretty sure those are shark fins.
