Read A Book That Will Fit Two Or More Other Tasks In The Winter 2009-2010 Challenge. List The Other Tasks It Will Fit (BJ ROSE'S TASK DOES NOT COUNT)

For Instance: You Could Read The Two Towers By J.R.R. Tolkien, Who Was Born Under Your Chinese Zodiac Sign (Hare/Rabbit), 5.7 (Year Of The...), 5.10 (Alliteration) And For 10.4 (5* In My Book List).

Note: The Book Read For This Challenge CANNOT Be A Book You Actually Read For Other Tasks, Just One That Is Eligible.

If you need suggestions for books to read for this task post a request here.

Tanya D (mtlbookworm) | 144 comments A good suggestion for anyone who’s having trouble finding a book for this task:

Life of Pi- Yann Martel

It fits 5.4 by winning the Booker Prize in 2002
It fits 10.4 because it was a 5 star read of Diane’s, who won the Fall Challenge
And it would be pretty easy to fit other books into either of those two categories.

Jan (the Gryphon) (yogryphongmailcom) | 223 comments There you are. I was just noticing that some of the books good for the Oh! Canada task (see the 10.8 Oh! Canada Help thread) are also prize-winners and may be on the Fall Challenge Finishers' shelves, for instance.

Sara (hoot31) Jan, I have a book that fits 5.2 and 1/2 of 15.9 which is a 2 part task. The Eyre Affair, so does that work for your task? I am just looking for verification since one of the tasks it uses is a 2 part task. Thanks!

Jan (the Gryphon) (yogryphongmailcom) | 223 comments Yes. Also, it is all right to use a book that could be applied to one-half of a two-book task and one-half of another task.

Liz M Jan,

Since you created your task before BJ Rose's "read 825 pages, any genre & any number of books to reach the total" task & since you've agreed we can use a book that fits part of a multi-book task, should your task be modified to "Read A Book That Will Fit Three Or More Other Tasks In The Winter 2009-2010 Challenge" & give the hint that ANY book fits BJ Rose's task?

I have two books that I'm deciding on for Jan's task and the only way I can fit them in is by using BJ ROSE's task, but both are well over the 825 page requirement that BJ ROSE gave. If you want the task changed, my suggestion is that if people want to use BJ ROSE's task, they should have to meet the page requirement for the book they want to use.

Jessy (jessycfischer) Would The Red-Haired Girl from the Bog The Landscape of Celtic Myth and Spirit work? It fits WENDY'S TASK and THERESA IN OHIO'S TASK.

I was going to decree that the task stands as stated; however, I understand what you mean. I'll ask Cynthia if she wants to change the task. Maybe you could get style points for the number of tasks your book could be used for. Ask Sam.

If the task remains as originally stated, that would be a good read for this task.

It looks like this book takes place in Ireland so it would fit my task as it is set on an island country.

Liz M I might have just finished my ultimate multi-tasking book.

Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day fits:
35.3 - It's about time: "Day" in the title
35.4 - Resolutions: My New Years resolution's usually include one about getting out more and enjoying the city and this book about a dowdy governess sent to the wrong place of employment, resulting in a whirlwind day of adventures, social gatherings, and new experiences would certainly fit.
30.1 - End of the Decade: it was made into a movie in 2008
25.1 - 1001 Books List: it's #601
25.2 - Friendship: Miss Pettigrew finds new friends
25.4 - Historical fiction: the book was written in 1938 and not set in some distant future, it might fit under this task....
25.6 - Island Dreams: the book is set in London
25.10 - World of books: my edition was reissued "complete with its original illustrations"
15.9 - In with the new: I have not read this author before

Anyone else have a book that really multi-tasks?

TMBookluvr (tmb1981) | 271 comments would the giver work? i read it for the newberry task and it will fit 15.9 author I've never read.

I was going to try to finish the newberry task, but not sure I'll be able to, so I wanted to try to use that book for points somewhere else.

Thanks!
