I asked this question once, but I believe the topic is really important. If there are authors who have tried promoting their books on other platforms, could you please share your experience with us? Is Amazon really the only effective marketplace for promoting books?

Hi Stella,
Some authors have previously mentioned Kobo and Draft2Digital as alternatives to Amazon. Other alternatives I’ve heard of include Apple Books and Google Books. However, as I understand it, publishing on Apple Books requires an Apple ID, which you can get on appleid.apple.com

I still put my books on Amazon, but I think in the future, I'll only do this with e-books.I publish my paperbacks through Lulu (this is OK with the KDP terms) and sell them through my own website (which is powered by WooCommerce). This isn't that terribly hard to set up.
Lulu handles all the distribution from my website... it's pretty nice to not have to deal with the shipping, etc.
Hey! I just published my first dark fantasy book 📖✨Chronicles of Balance: Rise of the Sovereign
A dark mythological fantasy about power, belief, and destiny.
If you enjoy deep world-building and complex characters, I’d love your support ❤️
