I know a few of us know about www.scribd.com but I wanted to share it with everyone.
I got a lot of e-books from the site a while ago, then all of the sudden couldn't access it from work anymore. Well, today I thought I'd give it one more try and lo and behold it worked!!!

I've found some (hopefully) good books and thought I'd share the links if anyone else is interested. Feel free to do the same if you come across any!

So I've come to realize that some of these that you cannot download have pages hidden by the publisher of the document. So those are best to read if you already have the book and are reading it on your computer at work (like me) then you can go home and read the parts that are missing.

Melanie (mcipher) | 372 comments Stacy, I'm glad to know that other people are reading at work when they should be working! LOL I am so bad with that sometimes...

LOL, in my defense, I only do it when I have no work to do. However, I was just informed the other day that it's "inappropriate" to read books on my computer at work. And I told my boss, "Then give me something to do." And she basically told me (again) that she has a hard time delegating (how is that MY problem then?) and that she's too busy to come up with stuff for me to do. BUT, she's apparently not too busy to hang out in the security director's office for one to two hours on an almost daily basis - and all that talking isn't work related, believe me! GRRRRR, she really irritates me! She's the double standard queen!

Oh, ugh... sometimes bosses suck, huh? I'm lucky, mine thinks I am just fabulous, plus he is not good at confrontation, so he lets me get away with stuff (not that I really do, but I could if I wanted to, which is good to know). Of course then that means people do get away with stuff and there is work not getting done and the me & the other ladies on the phones get to deal with that fall-out, but I guess work is always crappy one way or the other.

Kourtney (readthateventually) | 1215 comments I am loving this!!! I forgot to bring a book to work today and I am not up for doing my weekday work. I sat here thinking "what can I do for the next 9 hours?" and then I remembered this thread! I have been reading Thanks for the Memories now!!! This is awesome!

Jen B (jennybee618) If any of you are James Patterson fans, you can get a free copy of his new book Witch & Wizard from his website http://www.max-dan-wiz.com/. I didn't flip through the whole thing, so I don't know if it's the entire book -- though it looks like it.

I also just recently discovered that Goodreads has a couple thousand ebooks available for free download. Just go to the menu at the top of your GR homepage and click on Explore, Books, then on the Ebooks tab.
