ABANDONED. About hollywood actors in a mini-series

Written in the 80's or early 90's. It was about hollywood actors in a hit tv show and their private lives. The main actress, the star of the show, has a secret son who is blind and cared for in a home for blind children. The producer of the show falls in love with her. Maybe his name was Max? He treats all his actors like his family, very protective and good to them. The younger male actor has a wife who is a drug addict and she overdoses at the end. It was a very jackie collins/danielle steele kind of book.
