How to uncombine books?

Sorry if this is the wrong place. It's one of those days where the harder ya try to fix things the more lost ya get. I started just with trying to get a new cover up and merged to the existing versions of a single title, and now all 4 titles and half a bajillion editions are all combined. (I'm pretty sure the Magna Carta's in there somewhere too.)
I see where people ask how to uncombine titles, but never find instructions to do so. If you're brave, daring, and immune to ineptitude, please help. Otherwise, I totally respect your quietly backing away...

Probably because authors don't have the ability to do so. It takes a librarian, like lethe.
