Meredith | 1822 comments Finally getting to dig into this. I've read the first 4 chapters (about 15%) and I'm enjoying it. I like the family and close friend dynamics plus the Hawaiian cultural components are a new and interesting element for me. I love a heist too, so I'm excited to see how things develop.

Kaia | 824 comments I'm circling back to this one since I missed it in January. I'm about 30% through and enjoying it so far. Like Meredith, I like the inclusion of Hawaiian culture and the close family relationships the main character has. The audiobook narration is good, too. The story is moving at a slower but steady pace and is perfect for listening while I am doing chores or driving. It's been a while since I read a heist story, so that part is also fun so far.

P.E.N. Bortolotti | 143 comments I’m enjoying those same elements so far, the family dynamics give it a kind of grounded warmth that contrasts nicely with the heist side of things.

There’s something interesting about how the cultural layer doesn’t just sit in the background, it subtly shapes how the characters move through the story.

Curious if it stays more on that steady, character-driven pace or if the heist starts to take over later on.
