This is absolutely ridiculous. It's really obvious she copied it.

Noella (kookiemonstar) | 3613 comments Yeah! Anyway, thank goodness she left the challenge. Hopefully this is a lesson to her

message 403: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 16251 comments She left the group completely. I cant belive she would be like that. Does she think Sarah and Abbie dont know their own reviews. What the heck?

message 404: by Gayatri (new)

Gayatri | 977 comments Wow! Thats complete idiocy! I'm kind of glad she left the challenge! Thats just sad

message 405: by Christina (new)

Christina | 4293 comments She should be ashamed

message 406: by Rachmi (new)

Rachmi | 4882 comments I never thought that someone would plagiarized reviews, but now it happens here it's just sad and a horrible thing to do.

I just don't understand why did she do it? If she really read her books, reviewing isn't that hard since the only thing she has to do is writing what she likes or dislikes of the books she reads.

And I never thought that there is a plagiarism checker either. I guess I learn something new today, though it isn't from a good thing. Oh well...

Sharon wrote: "If there are many descriptions for one book, we take only one of those descriptions, correct? I'm sorry I'm a bit confused about it."

Yep, you can only cross off one description per book read ☺

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 91107 comments Mod
I told her that if she wanted to join a serious team for the May challenge, that I would need her to write proper reviews, rather than 'this is rubbish' which is what she was submitting at that point. Her reviews then vastly improved, as it turns out, because she was copying them.

message 409: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 91107 comments Mod
I don't understand how she thought she could deny it. It's pretty darn obvious that it's copied word for word. The plagarism checked pulled it up right away.

message 410: by Mei (new)

Mei (meijey) | 3810 comments I forgot to ask permission about this... But can I reread Under the never sky? I have a review written for it but I've read it two years ago and I don't really remember much what happened. Thank you :)

message 411: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 91107 comments Mod
That's fine ☺ I hope you like it slightly better this time ☺

message 412: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4452 comments My thing is, is did she actually read the books? Also, if she didn't lie about her age, she's a full-grown adult and should know better.

message 413: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 91107 comments Mod
We don't know to be honest. A couple of the reviews she had added bits to that she had written, but the one for beautiful diaster was 100% plagerised so whether she read that one or not I don't know.

message 428: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4452 comments Anna: here is your teams review thread. https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... just post that your book is on your Jumanji shelf and what description it fits. If you can't do the page count, ask Sarah to help you. I would message her about this if you have other circumstances.

Does anyone know if there is a buddy thread for The book of unknown Americans by Cristina Enríquez??

message 433: by Danielle ♥ (last edited Jun 05, 2015 12:20PM) (new)

Danielle ♥ (readwithmedani) | 2410 comments Cinthia wrote: "Does anyone know if there is a buddy thread for The book of unknown Americans by Cristina Enríquez??"

Check the June Buddy Reads thread, if it is listed there, then it is a buddy read. If it is not there, you can post in the WANTED: Reading Buddies thread to see if anyone wants to buddy read it with you. If its a series, you can post in the WANTED: Series Readalong Buddies thread. If someone shows interest and wants to buddy read with you, post in the June Buddy Reads thread, telling a mod which book and what date, and a mod will add it to the June calendar and June list. Hope that helps!

Instructions can also be found here: How To Buddy Read
