I remember reading a historical romance book about a lady living in a small village/town who has really bad luck. All her suitors are hurt in someway or another. She upturns the main leads (a duke, I think) carriage and when he is knocked off, she spends the night with him - unable to drag him. Apparently it later turns out that she is in fact related to the king. I think she is a really talkative and quirky person.
I just can't remember the name or the author. Any help would be appreciated ^^
