End of Days Buddy Read

A bunch of us are starting a buddy read for starting Monday May 18! Everyone is welcome to join!

There are no set chapters per day, we just read at our own paces and start each post with how far along you are, i.e., Chapter #, %, using spoilers where needed. Have fun!

Well, I started this today! I'm 24% of the way in and so far liking it (view spoiler)[although I think Penryn is being really stupid. I feel really bad for her sister, though. (hide spoiler)]

I started Monday, and about 25% in - hoping picks up a bit too, got to admit that chapter 5 was pretty hot! LOL

Finished! Spectacular ending! Didn't see that coming that (view spoiler)[Raffe would give up his wings. Wow! And love Dum and Dee! So glad that little sister can eat again. Still adore Penryn's mom! (hide spoiler)]

The best thing about this book is the relationship between Penryn and Raffe. So complex and tense- tons of fordibben chemistry!

I just realized I never updated with my thoughts!

I finished it, and I LOVED it!! 5 star read for sure! (view spoiler)[I LOVED the ending, the whole thing was so well done..the planning the Resistance and Penryn did was spectacular, but I love how it kept it realistic...they were making some progress, but without Raffe and the Locusts, they would have been toast! I love how Raffe gave everything for Penryn. I loved how Uriah was killed, too, by the people. Poetic Justice definitely! ANd LOL, loved the mom at the end! (hide spoiler)] Great trilogy!!

The story's not going in the direction I thought it was going to go in.
We'll see what the resolution is, but it is getting a tad predictable. Still enjoyable though.

I just realized I forgot to post here after I finished it! Well, I enjoyed it. I think the first book was still my favorite, but this one was very good as well. Took a while for it to pick up but the second half of it was very exciting. The ending felt a little abrupt to me. But over all, good book and good series. :)

There were a lot of things I liked about this book:
Penryn and Raffe's relationship
The sassy Watchers
The action during the second half
I didn't have a problem getting emotionally attached to the book, as some other readers have pointed out.
I did, however, think that the ending was a little too happy considering the dark tone of the entire series.
Overall though, a good conclusion to the series.
