I worked on this story several years and it’s my favorite story as is relates to my many trips into the mountains and forests of the Pacific Northwest. My first novel and my first promotion of the book.
It opens with,
“Spend some nights alone in the forest and you will get to know yourself. The forest holds secrets of creatures that go there, secrets Dylan knew well as he slipped through the mist of the wooded Oregon slopes, the deliberate stride of a man who knew where he was going, seldom leaving a footprint, rarely seen as he avoided well-travelled trails, a man as much a part of the forest as the creatures who live there.”
The story of Dylan Erykson, a former database programmer whose successful life suddenly got complicated and his life became like a treadmill he couldn’t get off. Needing a break he got a chance to go to Alaska to build a shop and airplane hangar for his friend Max.
Everything changes in a sudden turn of events when Dylan finds himself alone in the mountains trekking through the snow and ice. An epic journey begins when he decides not to return to the life he left behind.
