Liz (liz_the_librarian) I guess my Mother's Day thread from last week didn't go over so well, so we'll stick to a formula that seems to work this week.

Share what you're reading!

I'm getting behind on my reading because I've rediscovered my love for web comics, and I've been binging on a favorite, which has nearly 3,000 strips. That being said, I am about halfway through a new audiobook The Girl with All the Gifts, and I'm really digging the new take on a popular genre. I don't want to give anything else away, because the book leaves a lot of things ambiguous at the beginning. I highly recommend the book for anyone who is not squeamish, and I suggest avoiding any descriptions just in case something is given away.

Enjoy your week of reading!

The Girl with All the Gifts by M.R. Carey

I just finished Storm and started Spark last night... I'm still in the middle of The Professor and the Madman: A Tale of Murder, Insanity and the Making of the Oxford English Dictionary

Storm (Elemental, #1) by Brigid Kemmerer Spark (Elemental, #2) by Brigid Kemmerer The Professor and the Madman A Tale of Murder, Insanity and the Making of the Oxford English Dictionary by Simon Winchester

Storm and Spark are YA about 4 supernatural/paranormal boys who control one of the five elements earth, air, fire, water, or spirit. So far it's enjoyable - The Professor and the Madman is interesting and I have liked it enough to continue reading.

Julie | 130 comments I think it's been a while since I actually posted what I've read. In the last couple weeks I read Divergent, Where She Went, The Glassblower, If You Ask My (Betty White) and Insurgent.

Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth Where She Went (If I Stay, #2) by Gayle Forman The Glassblower by Petra Durst-Benning If You Ask Me (And of Course You Won't) by Betty White Insurgent (Divergent, #2) by Veronica Roth

I just got my second check out on the audio book for A Dance With Dragons, so hopefully I can finish it this time before I have to return it! I am ALMOST caught up on my 52 book goal, I think I'm only one book behind schedule now.

Congrats on catching up, Julie! I think I'm a little behind now, too, due to my obsession with web comics and Netflix.

How was Betty White's book? I love Betty White, but I haven't always heard the greatest reviews of her books.

I enjoyed Betty White's book, but it was more short stories, thoughts and anecdote's from her life and career more than an actual biography or book. It reminded me of Ellen's Seriously...I'm kidding. I listened to the audio book so it was fun hearing her read it and "tell the stories" so to speak. If you're looking for a quick and fun read with some wit and jokes worked in I think it fits that nicely.

Awesome! I love listening to audiobooks, especially when it's a celebrity memoir read by said celebrity. I'll to give Betty's books a shot one of these days.

Jodie Reha The Troop by Nick Cutter Reconstructing Amelia by Kimberly McCreight Where They Found Her by Kimberly McCreight I just finished "Where They Found Her" by Kimberly McCreight; I read it in 3 days! The book was written using four viewpoints, a kind of novel I really like to read. (The author also wrote "Reconstucting Amelia," which was really good as well.) I am now going to start "The Girl on the Train" and try to finish "The Troop."

Vivian | 54 comments Just finished reading "The Deep" by Nick Cutter. It was good, but didn't like it as much as "The Troop". Currently listening to "Beachcombers"& started reading "The Girl on the Train". My son gave me a B&N gift card for my birthday, so will pick up a couple books on my nook. Any suggestions?

Pattie Babbitt I wanted to respond to the mother thread, but I am currently on a young adult trend in my reading, and the mother seems to always be dead! Anyway, I finally finished the AWFUL "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies." At least the weather was beautiful as I sat outside and read it today. I am also audiobooking "Yes, Please" by Amy Poehler and "True Colors" by Kristin Hannah. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies The Graphic Novel by Seth Grahame-Smith Yes Please by Amy Poehler True Colors by Kristin Hannah
