Alayna let out a laugh. "You're just like all the other princes. Full of yourself, believing all the girls want you." Shaking her head, she let out a sigh. "And here I thought you were different." She says, stepping out of the castle.

James laughed softly," actually I don't really care at all what other girls think of me.. It's just my dad keeps throwing them at me hoping that I'll pick one of them so he can finish his reign and hand the crown over to me." He answered staying where he was as she stepped out of the castle walls
Alayna looked up at the prince. He was handsome she'd give him that. "My father is the same way, saying I have to pick a husband by the end of this week or else he will pick one for me." She sighed, taking in a breath. "Why do our kingdoms hate eachother?"
James looked at her," really? My dad said that too!" He said. "Ahhh that I a very good question if which I don't know the answer."
"Well it seems like our fathers had the same idea." Alayna says. "Ever since I can remember I was always told that the dark kingdom was filled with ruthless killers who would show no mercy to the light kingdom."
James nodded slightly," yeah I guess so.. Wonder what would happen if we said we knew each other?" He asked. "I don't know but I'm not a killer and neither is Tristan."
Alayna smiles. "I don't know. My father would probably freak out if he knew I'd been talking to the prince of the dark kingdom. But then again, I wouldn't mind making my father freak out every now and then." She laughs.
James laughed softly," well another thing to make me like you even more.. I'm probably giving my dad a heart attack for not being home." He replied. Tristan nodded," yeah one that will likely be the death of everything I've worked for."
She couldn't help but feel a little pinch of disappointment. "So, you have to go?" She asked, tucking a stray strand of her blonde hair behind her ear.
James shook his head," Nope I'm not leaving yet.. Tristan just wants to make sure that he doesn't lose his job which he won't because he's my best friend."
Alayna laughs. "You seem like a good friend." She says to Tristan. "Won't your father be sending guards out to look for you?" She asks, looking back at the thick line of trees that marks the beginning of the forest.
Tristan smiled," finally someone who appreciates me." James laughed softly and shook his head," Nahh dad knows Tristan keeps me out of trouble."
"Sounds like your father trusts you." Alayna smiles. "My father rarely ever lets a man near me and now he expects me to find a husband who is a prince in the next week. Do you know how annoying princes are?" She huffed.
Tristan laughed so hard he nearly fell over," Do I? Do you see who I have to babysit?" He asked. James frowned and shove his best friend. "Yes I know how annoying they are.. I am a prince." He replied with a laugh," hey but at least your dad isn't throwing princes at you like mine is throwing princesses at me."
Alayna laughed along with Tristen. "Yeah, I bet he's a handful." She smiled before she answers James. "You've got me there. I don't think I could stand it if my father was doing that." She runs her hand through her hair, looking up at the castle.
Tristan grinned," You know what James I like her," he said softly and James nodded," yeah Im not quite sure how to deal with my dad and all those girls.. Do you know how awful it is to listen to a girl talk on and on about how long it took them to do their hair?"
Alayna laughed. "Yes, believe me I do. Some of the girls in my kingdom can go on and on and on about their hair and how they have had their gowns especially designed for them and blah blah blah." She said, shifting her weight from one foot to the other.
James shook his head a little bit." Well I'm glad you don't do that or I would probably have run already."
Alayna laughed, "Yeah. I've never been one of those girls who's so obsessed with hair and jewelry and those sorts of things. I'm Alayna by the way, I don't think I mentioned that." She said with a small laugh.
James laughed a little bit," Yeah I'm glad you aren't that way.. It's very refreshing to find a girl who isn't like that." He replied smiling at her," it's nice to meet you.@
"It's nice to meet you as well." Alayna smiled. "So have you ever seen the light kingdoms castle? Or is this your first time here?"
James grinned and Tristan went back to lookin around. James nodded slightly," it's my first time in the light kingdom at all.. I mean I'm sure I've been here once when I was very little but I don't remember."
