jaxnsmom | 8341 comments I can't believe it's already time to think about the June Toppler! This will be a week long one and is a team event. I've set up a poll and you have until next Sunday to vote.

https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/1...

For those of you new to Topplers (and those who need a reminder), you'll get the theme and details about two weeks before the Toppler starts. That gives me time to finish up and you plenty of time to whine oops, I meant teams time for planning. ☺

Canadian Dragon | 1020 comments Yay toppler :)

KimeyDiann | 2174 comments I don't think I have anything that will hinder or help this toppler going on in June, so I really have no preference for when.

message 6: by jaxnsmom (new)

jaxnsmom | 8341 comments Did anyone hear that anguished scream? That was me. I'm writing up the Toppler and had a good part of it done when - the freaking power blinked off. I know what I had written, but I hate having to write it again. If you hear mumbled cursing that will be me, and if it gets slurred that will also be me with the help of whatever alcohol I have in the house :)

jaxnsmom | 8341 comments Question - Do you think tippling should become a regular part of the Toppler?

message 8: by Lori Z (new)

Lori Z | 2086 comments I thought it already was, lol.

Tasha Sure! :D

I'm with you on that one. :)

message 11: by jaxnsmom (new)

jaxnsmom | 8341 comments Well, it is, but I'm going to make it official with specific words/actions requiring you to drink.

I know a lot of you don't need any help finding reasons for a little tippling, but now we'll have our own drinking game. ☺

Ava Catherine | 4258 comments Oh, dear! Bless you, dear Jax! I would scream, too!
I think tippling is an excellent idea, generally speaking.

Janice (jamasc) | 59887 comments Tipple away. We can topple more than just books.

message 14: by Liz (new)

Liz (lizvegas) | 504 comments i concur with tippling plans!

message 15: by KimeyDiann (new)

KimeyDiann | 2174 comments I really like the idea of tippling while toppling. I didn't get to participate in that part of the last toppler and I hated that I missed out on that fun!

message 16: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18549 comments Same here KimeyDiann. We kind of all do it to some extent anyway, a drink here, something tasty to eat here so I like the idea of linking to specific things in our book. If a food or drink type is mentioned in the book we're reading we should get points for eating/drinking those too.

message 17: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59887 comments That's how the toppler tea came about. It seems like tea was the drink of choice the one toppler, so we had our own blend made up. I do believe you can still order it. Directions for ordering are somewhere in the group. (Too lazy to look it up.)

I just talked to my dad and told him to get me a ticket for their lobster bake on June 12th. That means I won't be reading all that much on the 13th. I'll be driving 6 hours home on the 14th so can listen all the way.

Aaaack!!! Very frustrating, sorry Jaxnsmom!

message 19: by Tasha (new)

Tasha I won't be starting until the 14th, if I'm not wiped out. My daughter is having a huge sleepover party the 13th. I'll have the week to catch up though. ;)

Debra (debra_t) | 6542 comments Oh J-Mom! Frustrating, for sure!

I think the tippling part is fun, alcoholic and non.

message 21: by jaxnsmom (new)

jaxnsmom | 8341 comments Ok, the poll is over and the winning date is June 13 - 20. I'll post teams this weekend and the Toppler sometime next week.

Sam (ecowitch) | 2354 comments Awesome, I'm away the 13th and 14th but will get a-toppling as soon as I'm back :-)

message 26: by Rusalka, Moderator (last edited Jun 15, 2015 05:51AM) (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19204 comments Not a problem at all, Pandora.

Toppler is a term we use in this group for our read-a-thons. We do one every two months, and alternate 24 hours, and 1 week. This one currently going on is a week long one.

Each Toppler changes in tasks, themes and structure. This one is a team one, where we are competing against each other to get the most points. The tasks are in this thread here https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... so have a read.

If it looks like you would like to read a book or more (every book counts!) that meets one of those criteria, then let Jaxnsmom know on this thread (the sign up) https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... and she'll assign you to a team.

Then head to your teams thread and they'll provide you with any help you need, as will we all in the main Toppler threads. Hope you join us!

Head over to this thread: June Toppler Sign Up.

Express your wish to be assigned to a team there.

jaxnsmom will assign you to a team, whose members will fall over backwards to help you, I am sure!☺

Welcome to the fun.
