The end! We did it! Did you like the ending? Do you think you'll read more books in the series? What's one thing you'd change about the book if you could?

Ava I finished it this morning. I liked it, but would have loved this book as a kid. The lighthearted adventure, with great messages, would have completely sucked me in. (view spoiler)

I will not be picking up any more books in the series. It was fun for one adventure, but I don't think I'd like going back.

I completely agree. This was a very fun book and I enjoyed it, but I doubt I'll ever finish out the series.

Kristen Mohr (runningwiththegnomes) I adore the series and am on hold for the fourth one at the library. And have the cover illustration of the first one tattooed on my thigh. So, I like it.

That's awesome, Kristen! Was this a series you liked as a kid, or a recently discovered one?

Kristen Mohr (runningwiththegnomes) I think I started reading it a year or two ago? I don't think it was available when I was a kid. I heard the title when it was on the new book cart at my library and thought it sounded good. Yes, I judged a book by its cover. :-) But as I said, I have the cover on my body now.

Kelly Aker (kellyaker) | 2 comments The more I read of this book the more I enjoyed it. I haven't decided yet if I'll read any of the others though. My TBR is too long for me to read them now but maybe in time I'll pick them up.

Rachel | 10 comments The ending was very creative. And left an interesting premise in order to set up sequels. I read the synopsis for the next book and it sounds interesting. I wouldn't say it's not one of the favorite series I've ever read but it's not bad. I think I'll give another one a try.

Trini | 14 comments I just finished it today. It was awesome! At first I was worried about how the author was going to cram so much content in so few chapters, but in the end, it worked out perfectly. The plot twist with the Marquess was completely unexpected. I think it was too much of a happy ending, though. I mean, one wish and everything's fine again.

I do think I'll be reading the next one in the series. It sounds extremely interesting! I have so much else to read, though, so possibly later.

Colin Barrow | 37 comments I'm also of the "nice for a visit but wouldn't want to stay there" opinion about Fairyland. I enjoyed reading this one though and might check out some of Valente's other non-Fairyland books eventually.

The ending gives the series a simple way of getting September to and from Fairyland but it diminishes her involvement too. Whatever she leaves behind in Fairyland will be very different when she returns

Jasmine | 7 comments I struggled with the first two sections of the book. But this third section completely sucked me in and I devoured it. I might check out the second one in the series and see how it goes, but knowing that there are already five books in this series makes me worried. That is such a commitment for those who already have 200+ books on their TBR shelves.

If I could change one this about this book it would be to define the creatures better. I'm not knowledgeable with fantasy creatures so I often just gave fuzzy pictures in my head about what they might look like. So some more descriptions would have helped.

The quote "One can always bear more love," totally punched me right in the feels.

Panda (pandareadss) | 2 comments I loved the ending, and I will definitely continue reading books in this series. No question about it. I gave this book 5/5 stars so hahah!
I read the last part so fast too, and like Jasmine I keysmashed with feels when I read the quote "One can always bear more love" because it is so true and lovely.

Becka Ramaglia | 20 comments I think this book was well written and the ending made me smile, which I can't say for most books. The ending worked really well and I'm looking forward to meeting their daughter in maybe book 2.

Kaitlyn | 9 comments Sadly this book just wasn't for me. I'd like to know what happens next in the story, but Vallente's writing style drove me bonkers. I wanted to love this book and can understand why people do, but I just don't.

I agree with Jasmine about wishing she had defined the creatures more clearly. I had many a what-the-hell-are-you-even-talking-about moment.

Kaitlyn | 9 comments Also I'm not sure how I feel about the daughter situation. It's kind of cute in context, but imagine being a twelve-year-old girl and finding out you're going to mate with a marid one day. Like, what.

Becka Ramaglia | 20 comments For the two ladies who wanted more detailed description of the creatures, I think you should just treat them like any other unknown word and look it up (I say that in the nicest way btw). There were one or two creatures I didn't know and I am an avid reader of fantasy.
As a writer attempting to create my own word, you have to pick and choose what's important details to give and the ones I think you meant probably weren't integral to the main story line.
