As we've recently re-launched the Read to Review program, the mods have gotten together and created some Rules for Authors. We love our member-authors, so these rules are designed so that both you and your readers/reviewers get the most out of the program. Please review these rules before submitting your book to the program, and please follow these rules throughout your Read to Review:

1) Please offer a minimum of 10 books for review. Anything less than that and your Read to Review will lose its impact, and will also frustrate reviewers who sign up too late to get a book. However, based on personal experience, I advise offering 20-25 books so that everyone who wants one gets a copy. Authors should remember that reviews are extremely important to the success of a book, so the more reviews you can get, the better! (on a side note, I also recommend offering your review copies in as many formats as possible, such as mobi, epub, and PDF. That will allow more readers to participate.)

2) The author or their representative must provide review copies to the reviewers that sign up. That means that once your Read to Review thread is up, you need to monitor the thread to see who signs up, and then get in touch with the reviewers to provide them with an ebook.

3) No harassing reviewers! Books are provided to reviewers in exchange for HONEST reviews. Sometimes that will mean good reviews, and sometimes that means not so good reviews. Not everyone will like your book, but that's no excuse to harass a reviewer to try to get them to change their rating/review. Trust me, this rule is for the author's benefit as well, you don't want to get a reputation as an author who can't take criticism!

4) Read to Review dates cannot be guaranteed. Once scheduled, we will do our best to post your Read to Review on the scheduled date, but on occasion your date may need to be changed or rescheduled. However, we hope this will be the exception rather than the rule.

5) YA only please! Although we have many adult readers in this group, it's still a YA group, so please only submit YA books for the program. We will, however, also accept middle-grade and children's books, but please make that clear in your book description so we can make it clear to potential reviewers.

AUTHORS: please let me or one of the other mods know if you have any questions about these rules, we're always happy to help.

Other than that, please just enjoy the Read to Review program, we truly hope it will help you find a larger audience for your books!
