I have read Stig Larsson trilogy ( & have the blue ray box set !!!)
I have read ALL of Lee Childs Jack reacher books
Any recommendations for fictional books with a HERO / heroine / underdog, especially like 'Dragon Tatoo' character.

The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher is a good series if you like fantasy that's action packed and funny. He is definitely the underdog and a hero.
