Be careful everyone, I’m going to put this one down now. This thread is going down like old yeller. Remove all children from the room please, this won’t be pretty.

Rape what a wonderful thing… A couple of poachers killed two wolves today. Which is really upsetting, these two particular wolves were regulars to my little slice of frozen hell. I even named them. ( the Grey’s name Greyhair Monroe{from last of the Mohicans} and a Black, Koyukuk{ Alaskan native for sad hunter} being that she was black and well snow is white, the ultimate racist) Well this morning a trucker called into our station saying there were to skinned carcasses on the side of the road near our station.

Ever since it has spread all around the station. If you have never seen a large group of Alaska mountain men acting like a gaggle of school girls with skinned knees you might find it humorous. I would too if it wasn’t so sad. I mean there is no reason to hunt Wolves, there has never been one officially confirmed wolf attack on a human. One can not eat them… well maybe in China but, well look at Tibet do we really want to be in par with them?

Wolves are a lot like dog. They have personality. Often when I went off station to check equipment and they would track my snow tucker and lurk around and keep the polar bears away, they were my little puppies and I’m going to miss them. I hope the wildlife refuge agents catch them in Coldfoot.

Sweet! I'm a west coaster, too, so I'm up for several more hours. Just let me know if you need me to pull over - no barfing in the thread.

Ah, geez. I was working on my post when Nick posted. Just ignore my inappropriate placement of humor.
Wolves rock, and I think we need to start a new thread over in I "heart" hate to discuss all the ways the poachers should burn in hell.

Sarah (songgirl7) Nick, that is absolutely disgusting and horrifying. I'm so sorry.

Jackie, will you hold my hair?

I think that did it, Nick. You sobered everyone right up. Good night, everybody.

message 109: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (songgirl7) Wait a minute! I'm still here.

Oh! Crossing comments, once again. It may just be you and me, kid. Sure, I'll hold your hair.

Hey, Sarah! Now's our chance - the West Coast rules! It's so much cooler than all those eastern places. Like, I can watch award shows, and still get to bed at a reasonable time, because I'm in the Pacific time zone. Next to the Pacific Ocean!

(Okay, Hawaii might be even cooler.)

message 111: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (songgirl7) Yep, the West Coast is the bestest! Of course, the "live" TV shows aren't actually live, because they do them 3 hours early for all those east coast bastards.

message 112: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (songgirl7) Oh, and Hawaii is better than everywhere.

I'm going on vacation to Oahu next month, I can't wait! I'm going to snorkel (snorkle?) every day, eat malasadas and shave ice at Matsumoto's in Hale'iwa, and "relax" with my husband.
Oh, wait, I meant to say: shag.

Sarah (songgirl7) Hee. Island sex is awesome sex, provided one isn't too sunburned.

I've only been on Maui, but it was absolutely gorgeous. The beach was right outside our door!

Anyway, I'm jealous.

I am so pale right now, some sunburn is inevitable. But yes, I will be using the strongest sunblock available. I also get heat rash if I'm not careful about staying out of the heat of the day. Sigh.

When you live in the northwest, trips to sunny places are a necessity to maintain sanity. That, and caffeine. Lots and lots of caffeine.

message 116: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (songgirl7) I recommend going to a tanning bed before your trip. Normally I'm against tanning because of the skin cancer issue, but it's safer to get a base tan so you don't burn.

I heart caffeine. I'm so with you there.
