Kako, let's please try and be mature about this. =D Yes, Jacob is human, and therefor humans can relate to him better, and so can Bella. Jacob was there when Edward left, and therefor betrayed Bella. Jacob helped her heal, and what did she do? Stab him in the back later, by leading him on, and then crushing his hopes.

Jacob is only trying to protect Bella, because it's in his blood to not trust vampires. Obviously, Jacob cares about Bella and doesn't want Edward to lose control when he's around her and kill her or turn her into a vampire (obviously, because then Bella and Jacob couldn't even be friends).
First off, Edward is a bad influence on Bella. he is like a horrible drug that she cannot live without. Jacob, on the other hand, understands Bella and was ALWAYS there for her. Edward left. And nearly killed Bella. Jacob never ever ever ever ever nearly killed Bella. both have broken her heart, but one has sent her spiraling into a depression. I like Jacob because he is a REALISTIC character. Edward is too perfect and people go nuts over him because he is seen from Bella's perspective. And i agree that people have a very unhealthy relation ship with this book. I almost wish that it had never been published so that people would stop arguing over it. that is the reason i have not read any of the books since Eclipse came out. But............JACOB IS BEST, AND EDWARD IS A LEECH.
Oh, and i hate Bella as well. She broke her perfect man's heart, even when she knew he was right for her. Remember her dream, when she saw her and Jacob's Kids? Duh. Major foreshadowing there. And i second Raquel's point
i dont understand why people get so worked up about characters in books. yeah sure i love Jacob and Edward the same tho sometimes i could slap them both.i could probably slap Bella harder than both of them but i still like her.

Svea-ness, if you are calling Edward a drug, then what was Jacob when Edward was gone? when ever she was away from him she got sad again. if Edward is a drug, then so is Jacob
Yeah but edward is the kind that you can overdose on and die! Jacob on the other hand, you can never get too much of him!
I dunno i think Bella got way too ovverdosed on Jake when Edward was gone, and now just look what its done to her, she had to choose between the love of her life (or eternity, whichever way you look at it)and a pushy werewolf (no offence intended Ryan) :D
But when Edward left, SHE CRASHED! He is a bad drug, because once Bella started she couldn't stop, and it hurt her when she did, and Edward (bad drug) was controlling her life! (Bella felt like she had nothing when he left)
Jacob is the drug cause when Edward was gone she couldn't be away from him, and when Edward came back she still couldn't be away from him!!!!

Jacob's a bit too whiny and...emo...he should have taken it as a man instead of running off in a sulk wanting to "forget being a human" forever. I thought that bit was really lame, plus it caused a lot of uneasiness amongst the avid Jacob Black fans, my friends actually wanted to disown Twilight when they read the ending of Eclipse because they thought that was the end of the entire Twilight saga. I was also a little depressed after reading that ending...it ruined the whole happy mood of Edward and Bella's future wedding! (Sorry, no sympathy for Jacob coming from me! XP)But at least he's...sort of out of the way for now...I'm crossing my fingers on the whole "Jacob imprinting on French-Canadian chick" prospect. I really hope he doesn't come back trying to fight Edward to the death so that Bella stays human...that would be sooooooooo melodramatic...and would mean that the whole "Bella turning vampire" ordeal will be prolonged even further...urgh. I'm putting all my hopes on that French-Canadian. She better not disappoint.
I actually liked Jacob in New Moon, b/c he was kind to Bella when she needed it the most.... but in Eclipse he just tries to make it harder for Bella to go with Edward. He becomes such a jerk!
--spoiler--i srly agree, jacob is an asshole and he cant leave bella alone. he cant understand dat bella isnt his, yet he forces bella to love him. he is also a perv cuz in eclipse he tells bella dat she'll b warmer if she takes off her clothes. if he said dat to me, i wouldve made edward beat him up so badly. jacob already kissed her twice and doesnt feel guilty, its like he wants bella to cheat on edward. he doesnt realize hes hurting bella until the end of eclipse an wen he says he'll give in, he runs away to canada, he cant evn b a man and face it.
ME TOOOOO! AH he ruined it for me. and especially how Edward is so nice about it in the end. Jacob is a freak of nature insensitive and a jerk. I hate how he got involved with Bella but I guess it kinda has to happen. I really wished the end was not about him in eclipse ugh.
lol, yea he is an insensitive jerkand evn if bella ditches edward for jacob (ugh, dat would b like the worst story evr then) jacob would break her heart if he imprints an evn if he says he "wont see anybody but her" he still sees ppl so u cant prevent it. so theres rly no point for jacob to love bella. bella should just remain wit edward an jacob should stay away from bella and stay forever in canada (i wont miss him xD)

i liked him in ne moon, in eclipse i sorta lost my respect for him. in new moon when edward left, and she was hanging out with jacob i was thinking, what! this is all wrong! bella and edward were ment to be together! whats going on?! so i dont HATE him, i just dont like him. anymore.
jacob appears most in New Moon and Eclipse, there are some part where i totally hate him! but near the end of Eclipse, i feel sorry for him, he loves Bella , but then his heart is broken, Bella loves him and Edward too, but Bella chooses Edward. So yea... :D Even though he knows that Bella loves Edward, he keeps on trying , yet he doesn't win. Jacob can be sweet and can be jerky.
I agree. Jacob is sweet but immature. His heart is in the right place and I don't doubt that given the chance he would make Bella a happy husband but he can let his temper get out of hand. Besides, he knows how Bella feels about Edward and how much it's hurting Bella that Jacob is making her choose and he still continues to be so pushy.
i don't hate jacob but i definately prfer Edward. I mean he says that he loves Bella but all he does is continue diong stupid that hurt her.

True true. I know Jacob loves Bella but how unfair would it be if she did choose Jacob and then Jacob imprinted on someone else like Sam did? I think that both Bella and Jacob would be able to get over each other a lot easier than Bella and Edward would.
GOOD POINT, BUT THAT COULD NEVER HAPPEN TO EDWARD. I don't think he could leave Bella; besides jacob will probably imprint in breakin dawn.
I'm not going to use the word 'hate' to describe how I feel about Jacob. Instead I will say that I dislike him with very strong intensities. lolI thought Jacob was a jerk in Eclipse. Especially when he kissed Bella. I seriously wanted hurt him right then. (Even if he is fictional). And every chance he got he would try to hurt Edward by thinking about how Bella was in New Moon, which is incredibly insensitive. He was doing it to hurt Edward, but by hurting Edward he also hurt Bella. 'He's an obnoxious moronic dog,' as Bella says at one point. XD
And at the end of the book, I didn't feel sorry for Jacob at all. He knew that going after Bella wouldn't work. He knows how much Edward and Bella love each other. And he was a jerk about everything. So I think he got what he deserved.
Hopefully he imprints in Breaking Dawn and leaves Bella alone.
Yeah Erin you're right, Edward wouldn't be able to leave her again. He would be completely shattered if Bella picked Jacob. He even says that he would be watching out for her regardless and waiting in the wings if Bella ever went to Jacob and then changed her mind or if Jacob imprinted someone else and left Bella. It makes me sooo sad even just thinking about how devastated Edward would be if Bella left him. I'd cry. I agree with you too Lisa- to an extent. I believe that Jacob should have already known that Bella would choose Edward and instead of being immature and petty about it and trying to make Edward jealous, he should have just accepted that Bella is happy with Edward and left it at that. Now Bella feels even worse about it. On the other hand, I'm sure it was really hard for Jacob to love Bella so deeply only to have it be a one sided thing even though he knew that there could be more. He's just young, naive and immature. Edward has had plenty of time to learn patience waiting for the love of his life.
Besides, Jacob is young, his hormones are raging, I wouldn't be surprised if he COULD move on a little easier than Bella or Edward could. He's young enough that the whole world is open to him to find someone to love outside of Forks (plenty of fish in the sea you could say) It's funny that out of ALL the people Jacob could have fallen in love with, he chooses a clumsy, depressed (at the time) person who is deeply and madly in love with someone else. Tough break Jake lol!!!!

This is probably one of my favorite discussions out of all of the discussions I have seen because I absolutely hate Jacob Black. One of my friends and one of my sisters have tried to tell me that he is ok but I say NO WAY!!!!!!! He is a complete grosso (yes I did mean to put the "o" on the end. Gross was just not enough to describe him.) who needs to find his own girlfriend instead of trying to steal Edwards. Sometimes I just think that Edward should get rid of him. Bella would be "sad" at first, but then I'm sure she'd realize she really doesn't care and get over it. Jacob needs to back off. Edward is her one true love. I must say that I loved Eclipse but I hated the epilogue because I absolutely do not care how Jacob feels. Also, I agree that Breaking Dawn will not be complete unless Jacob imprints on someone who is not Bella.
Jacob is jerk-ish and Edward is sweet, kind, and sensitive to Bella's feelings.
Jacob doesn't exactly try to win Bella. He himself knows that he has not imprinted on her, yet wants to marry her. He is selfish because if they marry and he imprints with someone else, it's Sam and Leila all over again.Edward is sincere and tries his best to help/save/protect Bella. He left because he though it would be best for BELLA, not himself. When Jacob leaves it is because he is mad then he returns in a few hours. Both do care and love Bella deeply, but I think that Jacob's love is partly hate - hate for Edward, he knows that if he wins Bella, Edward will be mad, therefore he wants to win Bella. Edwards love is actual love, keeping Bella safe and well is his priority. When Edward and Bella develop a more intense relationship, Edward tries to be at least civil and polite to Jacob but Jacob goes on using his " bloodsucker" term. When Jacob kisses Bella, the first time it is against her will and the second time he threatens to die/kill himself. With Edward she can't stop herself from kissing him! They both are each others first priority, but Jacob's pride and anger at Edward get in the way of his love for Bella. He loves Bella in spite, he knows that she will end of getting hurt when he imprints on someone else. Team Edward for the win!
I would rather have some one love me for me and do anything to keep me safe and happy. Not someone one like Jacob. I would love to have someone like Edward in my life
