Imador (someoneoncered) Hahaha, I love that one, and eragon as well. Of fantasy movies, those are my favs (after LOTR)

Child Taeko Rebel | 47 comments The da vici code?

message 53: by Imador (new)

Imador (someoneoncered) No, gahoole. I've never seen the davinci code.

Child Taeko Rebel | 47 comments Is this basically the IMDB for books?

message 55: by Imador (new)

Imador (someoneoncered) Mmm, kind of. Yeah.

Child Taeko Rebel | 47 comments oh ok. I've never read the Inheritance cycle but I liked the Eragon movie.

message 57: by Imador (new)

Imador (someoneoncered) Hahaha, the books are Waaaaay better. The movie is awesome, but it missed most of the point from the book.

Child Taeko Rebel | 47 comments When I see a movie with bad reviews, I'll probably like that movie unless it's just utter garbage with no excuse. But I'll probably also like most movies that are well recieved. I'm a movie freak. I have my own shelf with 2 disc special editions, directors cuts, slipcovers. On my shelf, I have a front row of movies and a back row. I don't even know where to put some movies sometimes

message 59: by Imador (new)

Imador (someoneoncered) Awesome! I don't have much movies... I wish I did though. Have you seen inside out?

Child Taeko Rebel | 47 comments No! But I really want to! I'll be the first to admit. My level of interest significantly dropped when I found out about the magic boyfriend maker.

message 61: by Imador (new)

Imador (someoneoncered) Eh, that's nothing that really matters in the movie though. I have to say... Of any animated movie, that's my favorite. Not genre speaking, that ones surely gahoole, but in animation generally speaking it's inside out.

Child Taeko Rebel | 47 comments So of all the ga'hoole books, which did you think was the best?

message 63: by Imador (new)

Imador (someoneoncered) Mmm, I'd say... The river of wind, but I also liked the war of the ember. Most are awesome, though.

Child Taeko Rebel | 47 comments Is the war of the ember like the return of the king? Like the end, all out war epic battle type stuff that decides the future of the kingdoms?

message 65: by Imador (new)

Imador (someoneoncered) Yep!

Child Taeko Rebel | 47 comments Don't worry about spoilers or anything. But I've heard some say that Soren is dead?

message 67: by Imador (new)

Imador (someoneoncered) Oh. Well, I read it long ago. I'm not sure, but the last ones are not of Soren. They're of his nephew.

Child Taeko Rebel | 47 comments oh

Child Taeko Rebel | 47 comments Nice name change.

Child Taeko Rebel | 47 comments I don't know how to put a picture as my profile picture nor do I know what shelves are. Can you make multiple shelves?

message 71: by Imador (new)

Imador (someoneoncered) Well, you do it in your account options thingy. Not sure how to explain :P And the shelves, yes, you can make more. And thanks, I like the name change too :)

Child Taeko Rebel | 47 comments I am so angry right now. I found out that there's an book specifically about the art of the movie and I can't find it anywhere. I know it exists because I've seen multiple pictures of it. I just can't find it being sold used anywhere.

Child Taeko Rebel | 47 comments Oh great. It's not on ebay. It's out of stock on Amazon. This means I'll have to wait 12 weeks to get it.

Child Taeko Rebel | 47 comments I have a MAJOR SPOILER question. Is Soren dead by the time the War of the Ember comes around? Or does he die in it? If so who else dies. Anyone else in the band? I just want to know what I'm in for.

message 75: by Imador (new)

Imador (someoneoncered) Ohhhh. Well, if I see one I'll let you know!

message 76: by Imador (new)

Imador (someoneoncered) Well, Soren doesn't die, at least from what I remember. It's been a while since I read them. I don't remember he died, which is the most probable thing. Who else dies? Well, ezylrib is dead.

Child Taeko Rebel | 47 comments Do the later books focus more on different characters than Soren and the band?

message 78: by Imador (new)

Imador (someoneoncered) The last ones are not of them.

Child Taeko Rebel | 47 comments From what you remember, does the storyline get complicated and hard to follow? I'm looking the series up and I see all these things about Strix Strama, The Sriga.
Does it get hard to follow?

Child Taeko Rebel | 47 comments I see all of these terms and I read up on what they mean.

message 81: by Imador (new)

Imador (someoneoncered) Neh, it's pretty straight forward.

Child Taeko Rebel | 47 comments Nice. That's good news.

Child Taeko Rebel | 47 comments Why did this place go dead back in 2015?

message 84: by Imador (new)

Imador (someoneoncered) No idea. People just didn't do much, I suppose. In fact, the mods may even be gone.

Child Taeko Rebel | 47 comments Now I see why these things go dead. I'm trying to make a really large detailed map of Ga'hoole plus Beyond the Beyond. Do you think I should go through with it?

message 86: by Imador (new)

Imador (someoneoncered) Sure! That'd be really interesting!

Child Taeko Rebel | 47 comments Man, you reply fast. You must have notifications turned on or something.

message 88: by Imador (new)

Imador (someoneoncered) Hahaha! I do. I just tend to ignore the ones I don't care :P

Child Taeko Rebel | 47 comments Am I the only one fascinated by fictional worlds? I see these maps of Middle Earth, Narnia, Ga'hoole and I just want to keep seeing more. I will actually look up places on these maps I never knew existed and I will see pictures and say, "Dang. Why didn't they show this in the movies?"

Child Taeko Rebel | 47 comments Like, I was looking up maps of Middle Earth and I found all these places never in either The Lord of the Rings nor the Hobbit trilogies.

message 91: by Imador (new)

Imador (someoneoncered) They generally do appear somewhere. Like, lotr most do appear in the silmarillion. In narnda, all calormen and the small kingdom in the middle of narnda and calormen appear too.

message 92: by Imador (new)

Imador (someoneoncered) I have a book with all the lotr lore and explains it.

Child Taeko Rebel | 47 comments Two Questions. Where? How much?

Hello! I am glad you are enjoying this group. I won't disrupt your conversation with Someone once Red but I will explain why I left this group. I still like Guardians of Ga'Hoole, but I must admit much of my interest in the series has faded since I created this group. After a while, I just didn't have the motivation to run this group any more, and I left it. Only recently have I remembered that this group is going.
So I have removed my position as moderator, because it is unlikely I will be active here often, and I feel like you and Someone once Red will do a better job as being moderators than I will. If you would like, I can add you as a moderator.

QuetzalQueen | 15 comments Someone once Red wrote: "No idea. People just didn't do much, I suppose. In fact, the mods may even be gone."

Yes, this is the (former) mod speaking. I am still alive! It's just that I have lost interest in this group, since it's been such a long time since I read the series, and I have become interested in other things. This group has no mod anymore (I removed my position) so I can add you as the mod if you like.

message 96: by QuetzalQueen (new)

QuetzalQueen | 15 comments Okay, it's been a long time since I have discussed something Ga'Hoole related! I am going to bring up the topic of an item I have which may be of interest.
Last year, I wrote Kathryn Lasky, the author of Guardians of Ga'Hoole, a very long fan letter. One of the questions I asked her was about where did the Others go. A few months later, I was excited to recieve a reply letter from her! She gave a short, simple answer to my main question-if you would like to see a photo of this letter I can provide the link here.

message 97: by Imador (new)

Imador (someoneoncered) HI! It's nice to see you here, even though you're not that much interested anymore. If you feel it good, sure, I'd have no problem being a mod and would try to keep this group running. :D

Yessss! Can we see the link???? :P I wrote to her once as well, and she answered. I'm not sure what I asked, cause it was a few years ago though...

Child Taeko Rebel | 47 comments I made King Boron in my art class and I think I might start construction of the map soon.

message 99: by Imador (new)

Imador (someoneoncered) Awesome!

message 100: by Child Taeko Rebel (new)

Child Taeko Rebel | 47 comments I have a question. When it refers to the "Others" us the humans, it says we don't exist anymore. Are we dead when these books take place? And also it says we haven't existed since the "First Glaux" whenever that may be. If we have been dead for that long how are churches and barns still even standing and supporting themselves?
