For a while there I thought that it was Werner who'd found her at her little water-hole, and only when he started to seem guarded did I think it was someone else. I did not expect it to be von Rumpel though! At least Werner's there at the same time,
so he'll save her! Kind of weird how everyone's at the same spot...

Wait but in current times isn't von Rumpel in her house, and only just now figuring out that she has the stone? I assumed that's why he's cornering her now? I'm starting to get slightly confused... (hide spoiler)]

I'm pleased that the past is catching up to the present (like they just had the notes fall from the sky saying for them to depart the city). I always way preferred the present time. It makes so much more sense. I suppose everything is building towards this though.

Ah no his ghost is the Jew above Frederick's house. I'm confused as to why she was there? Didn't they round up all of the Jews? Or did that happen later on in the War?

Review: I'm so surprised by how quickly I read this book! I started it 3 days ago, but I didn't read one of those days, so technically only 2 days ago XD The short chapters really helped with the speed, but it was so interesting! To be honest, I don't know how the story made up 530 pages. It really didn't feel like it. Even though the time jumps were confusing at times, they also really helped develop the story. For once, I love how (view spoiler)[they didn't meet and live together happily ever after. (hide spoiler)] I kind of wanted them to, because it's that kind of story, but I was sooo sad when (view spoiler)[Werner died from that land mine :( I mean, he probably was going to anyway, but still :( (hide spoiler)] I liked the way it ended, in 2014, and we really see how their stories end. Such a cool book. I much preferred Werner's POV to Marie's, but that's only because he was in the military school, and that's always interested me.
