Anne (Booklady) Molinarolo (wwwgoodreadscomAnneMolinarolo) | 11 comments Thank you to Rick for the group invitation as well as his kind friendship request.

I'm Anne Molinarolo. I'm now retired a year now from SSA and loving it. I now have the time to read & relax on the beach here in sunny Fort Lauderdale. I'm an eclectic reader. I love thrillers & mysteries, yet the Classics hold a special place in my heart. I just like a great story. Since joining GR, I have ventured into Horror, Fantasy, and Sci-Fi and surprisingly I like those genres with exception of vampire novels.

Rosie Dub | 4 comments Hello everyone and thanks to Rick for the invitation. I'm an Australian author and have so far published two novels. Gathering Storm (Penguin 2008) and Flight (Fourth Estate 2012). How do I classify my writing? Well I guess it crosses genre a bit - so far Flight has been called a literary novel, a commercial thriller, a spiritual novel, a young adult novel, a memoir and a romance!
I've also just completed my PhD for which I explored the origins and functions of story, particularly in relation to the way story helps us to evolve as individuals. So I've got quite a bit to say about the value of writing and reading.

I have a blog on Goodreads in which I'm reposting some of my earlier blog material. Here's a link to my other blog. Write on the Fringes is a blog about the dangers, the disappointments and the rewards of writing. It's a record of the writing of a novel, from the tantalising first inklings of an idea, through to the final draft. But above all it's an exploration of the art and the craft of writing and the nature of story, as well as a search for the essence of creativity and the complex nature of truth

David Fleming (davidwallacefleming) | 3 comments Hello, I'm an author and reader here on Goodreads. I've been catching up on the classics mostly, lately. About halfway through For Whom the Bell Tolls now and before that it was Steinbeck and O. Henry.

I read a little nonfiction and poetry also.

I've been working on developing what I consider to be a somewhat new niche of literature. Technology is changing our lives so rapidly of late.

But who's taking the time to thorougly make fun of how it gets the better of us on a daily basis?

Enter Technical Satire or at least that's what I'm calling it for now. There's several brief, fun examples posted on my blog: http://www.davidwallacefleming.com

E. Milan (EMilan) | 18 comments Hello All! Thanks for the invite, this seems like a great group, I'm excited to be a part of it. I am a New York native who recently finished my first independent novel, The Truce. I am working on promoting it along with building my site, www.emilanfiction.com. I recently started a blog and I am looking to begin reviewing other independent authors books on my site. My goal is to help work with independent writers. I feel that by working together we can help each other grow as writers and as a community. I am also writing a serial for my site and working on my next novel. I'm also a pilot working on my masters degree.

So all in all I keep myself fairly busy but I have the time now so I figure I might as well try and be constructive. I'm hoping to get to know everyone and if anyone is interested I can offer my novel in Ebook form free of charge. just email me at emilanfiction@gmail.com. Also right now I am running a promotion for 5 paperback copies of my book through Goodreads.

Thanks again,

E.

Julie Thomas | 4 comments I also have to thank Rick for inviting me to join this great group! I've read so many interesting introductions and learned about so many fascinating books just scrolling through the pages of this thread.

My name is Julie and I'm an ebook author. I live in Cambridge, New Zealand and I put my first ebook up on Amazon six months ago. I'd spent 30+ years in the media and it was time to do some writing of my own!

I now have four books up on both Amazon and through Smashwords into itunes, Sony, B&N etc. I have one novel, one book of short stories, one non-fiction book of my Dad's letters home during WW2 (he was a Spitfire pilot in the UK and the Middle East and was a brilliant writer) and one wine crime novella which is the first in a trilogy. I won't tell you all about my books here, I'll do another thread in the authors' corner, but it has been successful, 27,000 books sold and over 30 five star reviews. My novel is #1 in Amazon Jewish fiction, the only Gentile on the list I think!

Anyway, it's lovely to be here and I shall add my two cents worth to a couple of the other topics and then head down to the A.C. and tell you about my books.

Cheers
JULIE THOMAS

Mark Mortensen Rick thanks for the invite to your wonderful club. I’m a New Englander, who spent 1 year on the Upper East Side of NYC before heading south and settling into North Carolina for the past 28 years. I’m a businessman, who decided to write a book titled: “George W. Hamilton, USMC: America’s Greatest World War I Hero” (McFarland, June 2011). One USMC “leatherneck” article listed Hamilton as one of the “TOP 10” toughest Marines to ever live. I consider Major Hamilton our nation’s most forgotten hero.

On a side note my wife and I met 25 years ago today, St. Patrick’s Day, at a local pub in Greensboro. She was with a group from the local historical association, while I was with a “first-time” date. We bumped into each other, had a brief conversation and the rest is history. To my knowledge I have no Irish descendents and my wife has a very small percent, however we did kiss the Blarney Stone in Ireland a few years back.

Cheryl | 3 comments I'm an international bestselling suspense author with 9 ebook titles and 8 paperbacks available. When people ask me what I do, I like to say, "I kill people off for a living." Sometimes I'll add, "Fictitiously, of course."

My current bestseller CHILDREN OF THE FOG is on Amazon's Top 100 Paid bestsellers list, something I'm very proud of considering I'm a Canadian author. :-) That's the Top 100 out of every ebook on Amazon, over 1.1 million titles. I'm still pinching myself because it's hard for me to comprehend I'm outselling works by all my author idols, like Stephen King, JD Robb, Michael Crichton and James Patterson.

If you're looking for a suspenseful read, I invite you to check it out: CHILDREN OF THE FOG

All the best to you all!
