That's ironic, because I just saw North by Northwest yesterday for the first time. Now I know why Hitchcock is still famous today. I sincerely hope that they do not remake that movie.

KellBell (kell_bell) | 1 comments Hey all! Rick invited me to join and I just did, so I haven't had much time to look around yet, but I'm excited to find members that share my LOVE for reading. My favorite genres are urban fantasy, paranormal romance, and romance. Although really I enjoy anything with a happily ever after! And I love vampire books...I have a slight obsession. :)

Although I would love to do nothing but read, lately I have been finding myself spending a lot of time on goodreads (I'm a mod for My Vampire Book Obsession and I spend a lot of time on there)...probably even more than I spend reading. lol.

Anyway, can't wait to start chatting with all of you!

Wayne Jordan (wayne_jordan) | 1 comments I'd like to thank Rick for the invitation. I'm a romance author, published with Harlequin's African-American Romance line, Kimani Romance. My 8th book, SAVED BY HER EMBRACE, is on sale this month. I live in Barbados, but am currently vacationing in Orlando, recovering for the very busy, Romance Writers of American Conference in New York. I currently working on my next Kimani romance and a proposal for Harlequin Intrigue. I love romantic suspense. I'm a high school teacher and after 27 years still love teaching!

message 3025: by Eileen (new)

Eileen (ileanedover) Hi all! I found this group because a couple of my author Goodfriends are members, and it looked really interesting, so I joined.

I live in NJ, and work as an Administrator at a community college. I'm married, with two kids, two cats, and a gold fish.

I'm a major book lover. I love to read, mostly fiction, but, more recently I've begun to explore history, psychology, gender studies, feminism, theology and poetry. I love words, and great narrative just makes me so happy.

Even with fiction, I'm pretty eclectic in my tastes. I love to read mystery, thrillers, fantasy, horror, literary fiction, classics - I think the only thing I'm not a fan of is romance writing. It just bores me. I'm a pretty tolerant reader, but I'm noticing that as I get older, I'm pickier about realistic plot development, crappy dialogue and totally transparent plots. Even with that, it takes a lot to get me to give up on a book. Looking forward to meeting you all, and getting to explore more on this site.

Thomas Wilson (StorytellerTDW) Thank You for inviting me to join your group. I am an avid reader up until last year, my reading has dropped to about half of what it was as I started writing the books I wanted to read that hadn't been written yet. I published my first and worst in January and feverishly working to finish my second. Hopefully I will publish it September 11th this year. Still reading but as time is cut in half I am being much more selective with what I finish reading.

For years I was more into autobiographies, biographies and history, basically I was a history buff. Then I got into Stephen King, horror, adventure, and classics, I've always loved classics. Now I'm more into romance novels mostly because I love a happy ending : )

Richard Bunning (richardbunning) | 2 comments Hello all of you thousands,
I'm a indie author, with a little to give and lots to learn.
I have adapted French neoclassical plays into English.
Now, I try to write speculative science fiction, and have one book that fits roughly under the SF umbrella.
I enjoy reading and reviewing other indie authors, and giving them a shout when in my humble opinion they write well and/or have something interesting to say.

Jason Halstead (booksbyjason) | 3 comments Hello guys, girls, and anyone that doesn't cover. I'm Jason HAlstead and I've written a bunch of books. A whole bunch, but thus far only eight have been published and a few more are on their way. My preferred genres are science fiction and fantasy, but I've dabbled in other areas as well (most notably Romance).

Got an invitation from Rick (thanks Rick), to check the group out and it looks like a nice place to hang out and toss some words against a wall to see what sticks.

To slip into shameless mode, I'm also always in the mode for reviews for my books. If anybody's interested in checking them out and doing a review, please let me know, I'll be happy to provide an ebook to you for it.

That's it for now. Oh sure, I can be far more shameless, but I'm pacing myself. :)

Thanks again,

My online name is Gabby-Lily Raines and I enjoy reading. (Why does that sound as if it is should be the introductory line at a group?) Oh, yes, I have an odd sense of humor.

I do the odd bit of writing, freelance as a proofreader/editor/sometime ghost writer, and review "stuff" (i.e., books :)) here, at Librarything, on my own blog, and at Night Owl Reviews. I also used to review at Bitten by Books.

It's the story of a Defense Intelligence operative who stumbles upon an international plot to bring down Western economies. Debbie (whalehugger) Thanks for the invite, Rick. Calling it the James Mason Community Book Club alone made it intriguing - James Mason is one of my all time favorite actors. I live in South Carolina with my husband and three cats. Professionally, I was a medical transcriptionist until my position was phased out. Now I'm working as a temp for an insurance company and really enjoying learning about this new industry.

My favorite books are mysteries, particularly cozies, but I also like thrillers, some romance and paranormal romance as well as fantasy. Right now, I'm finishing off the last of Tim Myers Lighthouse mystery series. I play around with writing and had 3 short stories pubbed in an anthology, but still haven't gotten serious with it.

Nice to meet you all and look forward to the reading recommendations.

Collette Scott (ColletteScott) Hello everyone, and thank you Rick for the invitation!

My name is Collette Scott, author of Forever Sunshine and avid reader whenever I am not writing.

My reading is a very eclectic style. I will give any genre a chance if I believe the story is good. I have everything from literature to true crime in my library. I just love the written word and never tire of other people's imaginations!

Alas, life had gotten away from me with children, my job in academia, and all those other pesky details to make it from day to day. But due to a change in circumstances I have recently been able to go back to writing full-time, and I've been publishing as well. All those books on my TBR list are slowly being worked through, and my kids now complain that all they see me do is work on my computer - LOL.

I'm still new to Goodreads but am excited to mingle with all these new faces from all over the world and am eager to have new friends as well, so don't be shy!

It is a pleasure to meet you all!
