Well, my name is Brandon Tietz. I've written a couple of books. One is available now and the other is about to be shopped by my agent. I'm one of the moderators of the Chuck Palahniuk Writers' Workshop and enjoy vodka tonics. That's it for now.

I am pleased to share some of the recently received review from Booklist:

"A galvanizing blend of war novel and espionage thriller. Jacobson tells a riveting tale, effectively combining a moving love story and a detail-rich recreation of the Resistance fighter's world. Don't miss this one!"

Michael Tabman | 11 comments Thanks for inviting me to the group. I retired from the FBI and also served as a police officer. My crime novel, Midnight Sin, was recently released. Law and Order Producer Peter Giuliano described it as "A powerful story." So, if you are a Law and Order fan, you will probably enjoy Midnight Sin. The backdrop was inspired by a true case I worked on as a plain clothes cop. My first book, Walking the Corporate Beat relates many true stories of the mob, drugs, street crimes and undercover operations - and how things go wrong. Please feel free to join my Q&A or comment on my blogs.

Thanks,
Michael

~Geektastic~ (atroskity) I've been putting off introducing myself, even though I've been posting here and there for a week or so. I'm Amber, I'm a geek, and I love to read. Right now I've been spending a lot of my time writing story arcs for Dungeons & Dragons campaigns with my group, and I'm hoping to possibly get one published by Wizards of the Coast someday. I work as an admin assistant(read: glorified secretary), but someday I hope to work in publishing as an illustrator and/or cover designer, as my degree is in fine arts, and I would love to combine my love of reading and art and actually get paid for it.

Thomas Scopel (tscopel) | 2 comments Hi Rick, thanks for the invite. I finally found the time to join this wonderful group. My name is Thomas Scopel and my ebook Twitch will be released on July 15, 2011 from suspense Publishing. Here's the blurb:

Twitch, a stubbed limbed, white eye deformed carnival freak attraction is often abused. But, he harbors a dark secret...and his retribution is far worse.

You can view the trailer at either http://stayingscared.blogspot.com or http://www.thomasscopel.com.

Otherwise, I have been published in a number of horror based magazines, as well as two anthologies thus far.

I'm a great fan of horror anthologies. Especially Ellen Datlow and Stephen Jones edited ones.

Joe Young (smilyjo) | 1 comments Hello everyone,

Thanks to Rick for the invite even though I'm not a Steampunk expert that he imagined I might be. I am a "Cheap" reader and am always looking for a bargain book. I'm a reviewer for NetGalley and read three or four books a week. I'm a member of SmashWords, Goodreads and LibraryThing to become aware of new emerging authors, find bargains and catalog what I read, so I'm not buying and reading that interesting book again. I tweet my reviews on Twitter.com/smilyjoyng and typically post my reviews on LibraryThing and Goodreads. Any books I review for NetGalley I also post there as well. Since I acquired a Kindle Reader, I prefer it for reading and always look for a Mobi file to download (or an acrobat file) I'm a retired professional and at the age of seventy-one, find myself pressed for time to read all the remaining books in the world before I die. I mostly enjoy Fantasy, Science Fiction, Mystery and just some human character "Literature?". I started reading at a young age and early life in the U.S. Navy gave me ample opportunity to read while my living space and entertainment opportunities were limited to the confines of the ship I was on. The books I've cataloged on Goodreads represent what I've read during the last three years. I'm looking anxiously for my Public Library to start stocking Kindle readable books. I'm told it should happen late this summer (oh boy!). I'm really hooked on reading as my imagination is so much better graphically than Hollywood. As I've aged, my emotional connection to what I read has also became more fully developed. I can't remember tearing up or laughing aloud while reading as a younger person. Now I have to be careful about picking a reading location where I won't embarrass myself with my emotional responses. I'm looking forward to listening to your takes on stories and authors you are currently exposed to and like. I hope to become better acquainted with many of you.

Regards, Joe

message 2940: by Robert (new)

Robert Browne (robertbrowne) | 1 comments Thanks so much for the invitation to join this group. It's nice to see so many booklovers here.

My name is Robert Browne and I'm the author of several supernatural thrillers. My latest, THE PARADISE PROPHECY, will be released by Penguin/Dutton on July 21st. It's a big, bold epic about two desperate and seriously screwed-up mortals who race around the globe trying to prevent a quartet of dark angles from destroying the world. Some have called it the love child of Dean Koontz and Dan Brown, but I think the real father may be Stephen King. ;)

So far the advance readers have been very kind—many of them right here on goodreads—and Publishers Weekly gave it their coveted starred review. And if you're a Raymond Khoury fan (The Templar Salvation), know that he gave it the thumbs up as well.

I'm very proud of this book and hope you'll take a look at it. In the meantime, I'll see you in the forums!
