Hello I'm Jack Tar and I want to thank James Mason and Rick for the invite. I am a nonfiction buff that has traveled and travailed all over the world. I decided long ago to write the stories passed down to me in a way that would make them as interesting unusual, and shocking as they originally seemed. I hope that they will be of use. While I have completed the easiest part of my e-book:
"AMERICAN WOP
Beaver Buffalo Buttons Brass Boxing and Beer:
That's why you're here!" the hardest part is ahead!
Gaining readership, evaluations, and reviews...
Please check out my website at
http://www.americanwop.com and look around.
I am searching for feedback before I consider wasting scarce and valuable trees.
Thanks to all and good reading.

Welcome, Hanna. Have you heard of the new movie "Hanna." The young lady is a wild and crazy killer, I think. Go to IMDG.com and check it out.
Welcome to all the new members! Kat, I read 7-8 at a time. I have a book going in most rooms of the house and pick up at random. Listen to one while I drive or am waiting for whatever reason. I have an iPhone and have several books so always have an ebook ready to be read. I just love to read.

Appreciate invite Rick- my oh my- what a big group- looks like nice folks- I like reading Alice Walker, E. Lynn Harris, Langston Hughes and Walter Mosely
Thank you for the invite, Rick.I am Christopher Dunbar, co-author of the Morrigan's Brood Series, and other works, along with Heather Poinsett Dunbar. The funny thing is, I don't read many books within the same genre's we write (dark fantasy / historical fiction / fantasy adventure). I have also read far fewer fiction books since I started writing (mostly non-fiction for research, and of course our own works for re-writes).
Still, I hope to contribute to discussions when I am not writing, tooling around with leather, or whatnot.
Cheers!
Christopher

Hello everyone! and Rick, thank you for your invitation. I've seen this group before but, well, SO SORRY for my ignorance, I didn't know who JAMES MASON was. I still don't :( So enlighten this ignorant! This seems like a really nice place, hopefully I'll be spending some of my time here. So I'll see you all.
Oh yes, I forgot I simply love classics doesn't matter what region they are from and recently I've begun to grow an interest in Young Adult novels and Russian Literature and have an obsession over Jane Austen.
Good Day all- My name is Myrtle Mae and I am quite happy to be a part of this Group. James Mason was a great favorite of mine- he even looked like my 7th husband a bit- bless you allMyrtle Mae

Rick, Thank you for the invitation. This looks like a great group. My name is Pamela Toler. I write fiction (unpublished) and popular history (published). I read a little of just about everything. I always have multiple books going: one or two in my purse (hate to be caught on the bus without something to read), one to read at meals, a stack by my chair in the living room, and a rolling bookcase in my office for the books for my work.

Greetings to all and many thanks to Rick for the invite! This group does seem nice indeed! It's my pleasure to join you all.
I'm Jidapa from Thailand. I joined goodreads not long ago but I incredibly enjoy myself while I spend time browsing on this site, even lost track of time whenever I log in and plunge into tons of reviews here. I'm currently studying in English major so I have to read lots of books all the time.
For now, I'm reading Sophie's world as part of my next semester's History of Western Philosophy class.
Hey everyone,I just wanted to let everyone know that I finished my book! I finished it Friday night. I'm so pumped about it. It's a great feeling. There is still so much to do though. I'm going back through and rereading it and cleaning it up before I get it edited. Then I will work on the cover. I think I have a pretty cool vision of how I want the cover to look. Hope everyone has a great week. I'll keep you posted.
If I've already introduced myself, sorry for the re-run. I'm dark fantasy author C.C.Cole of the Gastar series. I'm an Indie publisher of the four novella series when complete. The first, "Act of Redemption" was published in 2009, and the second, " Children of Discord" came out March 2011. The series follows teen assassin Shevata as she travels through the history of the city of Gastar to seek redemptions for her past actions and to re-gain her soul. Recommended age is 13+, for intense battle scenes.

About me...musician, avid reader, like Joyce as much as Hammett. Jack Reacher fan. Oh have a day job, kind of executive guy.
I like long walks on the beach and talking for long, long, long long, periods of time about my feelings, while lighting candles and putting logs on a fire.

Hi, Sean here. Quick intro:Musician (free downloads to anyone interested), novelist (first time), day job as an executive guy.
Importantly, and you women may find this interesting, I love long walks on the beach and long, long, drawn out conversations about my feelings. I have lots of feelings. Candles and a fireplace too, yeah, that's good.
Thanks Rick, for the invitation. The quick introduction :) I was born into a military family, so I'm basically nomadic by nature. I live in Oregon, work as a nurse, love to travel (of course), take pictures, garden (it just stopped raining here, so got my first bit of mowing done tonight), read, and I love, love, love to write stories. I can remember the first book I ever picked out for myself, BLACK BEAUTY, when I was thirteen. I've been reading...and writing, funny enough, ever since.
I write contemporary romance, women's fiction and post apocalyptic paranormal romance. My first Indy book, a contemporary, is for sale at Amazon and Barnes and Noble, JANE'S LONG MARCH HOME.
I'm looking forward to being a part of this group. Thanks again for inviting me :)
Susan
Hey everyone - I just had to stop in here with my bit of news. I didn't know where else to post it. My manuscript is back from the editor. Whoot!!! One step closer to publishing my second book.
Hello new friends, I'm Naomi and I'm a writer from Australia. I'm also an avid reader from way back (and yes, a fan of classic films, especially the Katherine Hepburn / Spencer Tracy ones). I'll devour anything on paper from literary fiction and the classics to crime caper stories, mysteries, magical realism, action-adventure and a good old-fashioned comedy of manners.
Hi All! I'm the author of, Don't Tell Your Cousin, (eBook, available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble).
It's a tale of a twisted and steamy love triangle involving two cousins and a married man, a grisly love affair full of deceit, mayhem, and shameful women. As the mountain of lies come tumbling down and the drama unfolds, Amanda is forced to hold a mirror to herself and come to terms with a reflection she struggles to accept.
I'm a newbie to GoodReads and I appreciate the support!
Thanks,
Veronica E. Kelly
Thank You Rick for the invitation!
Hello everyone!
My name is Shay and I am a thirty something Army wife with a teenage son, two cats and one dog. I have been an avid reader since I discovered Dean Koontz in my teens. I will read almost every genre. I love it when a cover catches my eye and it ends up being an amazing book.
If I am not reading (someone might want to check my pulse) I am probably writing. I am working on my first novel. I am seeing a surgeon for carpel tunnel next month so I can spend more time writing.
If I am not doing either of those two things I must be playing video games or painting.

I'm glad that my kids got to go to the same school & now my granddaughter & 2 step grandkids go to the same elementary school that my boys did. It's a small town, too. My youngest bought our house so he lives in the same house that he was almost born in.
I'm not very familiar with Cologne. With 2 babies we didn't travel too much.
