Timothy Pilgrim (oldgeezer) | 145 comments Hi Carmel,
Zebadee could hardly be called friskey at the moment! have you ever heard a cat snore!! The caramel bar is now in the fridge! as it was definately a bit 'limp'! the wrapping still intact though. I had David in mind for the psycho bit [clan, kilt, etc] but hey, if the cap [or kilt] fits wear it!! Oh no, not those visions of Angie Dickinson in her mini kilt again!! I really am getting too old for all this excitement.

Timothy Pilgrim (oldgeezer) | 145 comments Hi Carmel,
pardon all the silliness, I just had to take a break from my current task. This lovely little 'old' lady has written a load of poetry and wants it published. Problem! No computer, not even a type writer! As she only lives about twenty miles away from me, guess who has got the job of sorting it out for her. Yep li'll ole me! I HATE poetry! but she is such a sweetie, and makes one mean coffee, so I don't mind too much, just needed a break.
I suppose it is quite good really as it is, in a way the life story of how she and her hubby met, and things they have been through, from the east end of London, to a quiet little Norfolk village. At least her writing is easy to read.!
I take your point on wild life and cats, but the two 'boys' Zebadee and Asbo panic when they see a frog in the pond and bolt for the cat flap if it hops near them. It gives a whole new meaning to the derogatory use of the word 'pussy'!
All the best Paul rix [oldgeezer]

Timothy Pilgrim (oldgeezer) | 145 comments Hi Rick and Carmel,
As far as Jean [the poet] is concerned I know how daunting all this techno stuff can seem, where do you think the 'old geezer' came from? She found out about me from a friend who bought my gardening book at the local county show last year. This friend asked how I had got published, so I gave her contact details. As I'm always telling Richard Fitt, the boss of Authors OnLine he has the most demanding job in the world. Which is making dreams come true, I.E. by helping someone get published. So you have to live up to that ideal, not easy!. Jean was worried about paying me! so we did a deal, I'll help her fulfill her dream in return for 10% of any PROFIT, i.e. after she has got ALL her money back. It might happen, there again.. it is poetry which has been hard to sell, mind you, it does seem on the up just now. My reward will be seeing her face holding that first copy of her little poetry book, I know that feeling, there is nothing quite like it! I had the late great Wendy Lake help me with my first book, without her none of you would have had to put up with me trying to get you to read 'The Day the Ravens Died', 'Beyond the Potting Shed' or 'Ro' which I have begun rewriting at last. What goes around comes around.
On the vexed question of moggies! Zebadee is, at the moment on his back in the angle of the settee, legs akimbo, mouth open! very undignified!
Babs, my long suffering other half says he's just copying ME!! Who said pets get like their owners! thanks pal! My two boys are scared of birds, frogs. leaves blowing in the wind and probably their own shadows, yet they will go after dogs, even big ones as though they see the pooch as their next meal. Go figure!
All the best Paul Rix [oldgeezer]

Timothy Pilgrim (oldgeezer) | 145 comments Hi Carmel,
I was lucky to have Wendy Lake help me, guess it's pay back time!
As for the moggies! it's windy right now all three are outside . Their courage is up right now as they have ganged up on a sweet wrapper on the front lawn!
Daft as brushes, all of them!

Kerra | 41 comments Hello everyone! My name is Kerra, I am 22 new to this site, and love to read mysteries. I really enjoy talking about novels that I have read or are currently reading. I don't get the chance much because I am the only person in my family that is avid reader. I recently go my mom into reading, but she mostly like the vampire kind of novels. Hopefully soon I can get her into other novels :) Hope to talk with all of you soon.

Rick~ Thank you for inviting me to with wonderful discussion area!

Dorina Stanciu (cinderelle) | 6 comments Hello everyone! And thank you Rick for inviting me! This group seems absolutely wonderful. I love to read, I didn't have time to look for all the books I've read so far. I have a passion for classics, but I enjoy Paranormal, YA, Urban Fantasy and I'm willing to read almost any genre and author.
A little while ago I published my first Romance Suspense The Girl of Dracula I placed Chapter 2 on my page and I invite you to read it if you'd like. The book is actually a love story that intermingles with a lot of adventure, action, mystery and a little occult in the settings of the real Dracula's country, in Eastern Europe. This is the link to the book in Amazon.com

Happy to be here and my best wishes to you all.

Timothy Pilgrim (oldgeezer) | 145 comments Hi Carmel,
our little lady mog, alias 'bushy' is the street 'litter picker' she can't walk 'round the block' without bringing home a piece of litter! I'm sure she must raid a bin somewhere as there is very little litter around here, probably because she collects it all!
The 'fierce wrapping' attacking them this morning had probably fallen out of our car when I got home this morning as it was off a chocolate eclair, I eat about two bags of them a week!!

One of the benefits of being old(er) my teeth come out to clean!
Now don't laugh, but about the only thing I can think of that I am genuinely scared of are DENTISTS. Terrorists, thugs etc never really bothered me, parachuting is a breeze, but DENTISTS!!! aaaaahhhh, head for the hills!

Timothy Pilgrim (oldgeezer) | 145 comments May be an international collection of fruit cakes [as opposed to nuts] would be a better description. What with David Elliot, and I always taking the mickey out of each other, assisted by Carmel, plus a selection of others from around the globe,it is never boring around here.
We do have serious conversations too, which are usually helpful, and informative.
All the best Paul Rix [oldgeezer]
P.S. just so all you 'newbies' know the 'Timothy' comes from Timothy Pilgrim, the name I write my thrillers under, just to confuse the goodreads gang I released my gardening [grow your own] book under my real name Paul Rix.

Rebecca Costa (rebeccacosta) | 1 comments Thank you Rick for the invitation. I am the author of The Watchman's Rattle - a nonfiction book that explains why leaders and experts have become gridlocked and are no longer able to solve our most dangerous problems such as terrorism, climate change, a global recession, declining public education and skyrocketing health care costs. It's an unusual selection for this book club, but you;ll be surprised at ow this book sucks you in and how often you find your head nodding as you see the problems we now face in a different light. . .for videos and more information visit www.rebeccacosta.com

Christine | 3 comments Hello, and thanks for the invite. My name is Christine Amsden, and I'm the author of Touch of Fate (paranormal mystery) and The Immortality Virus (science fiction). I'll read anything, though I have been going through a serious romance phase lately. I love to chat about books because it's always interesting to hear different people's experiences. It's never quite the same, because we all take a little piece of ourselves into the reading.

My husband and I wrote a mystery novel together, Bartlett House, which is available in all the usual places. We have a micro-press and have published poetry and literature and we are interested in publishing non-fiction, as well.

I am generally a voracious reader though I have only read six books so far this year.
