I'd like to say thanks for the invatation. My name is David Donaghe, I live on the high desert of Southern California. I have three passions in life: reading, writing and riding my motorcycle. Right now, my short story collection, Monroe's Paranormal Investigations is on sale at Amazon.com and on the Barns and Noble web page.

A Big Thanks to Rick... I am excited to get to know the group and members. I'm the author of 'King Solomon's Journey', an archeological adventure with a strong romance. 'King Solomon's Journey' is the first in a trilogy and the beginning of The Dominguez Adventures. The second book "Hidden Mountain" will be released in the very near future with the third to follow. I am a reader that likes to read all kinds of books. I do a lot of intensive research so often the books I read reflect current research. I love to review the books I read and especially those by my author friends.
Please visit my Blog to see more and to get to know me and my love for books. http://sammywrites.blogspot.com/
Again Thanks!

I have not been here for a couple of days and missed all the new people. Hello all. Welcome.
Hey everyone, glad to be a part of the group. I'm a self-published writer and a fan of authors like Craig Clevenger, Mark Danielewski and Hunter Thompson. I like stories with a modern edge or with horror and sci-fi elements, though not too heavy-handed. I also enjoy walks on the beach so long as the statue of liberty is half-buried in the sand.

I want to thank Rick for asking me to join the group. I am the author of The Device. Rick mentioned that my novel might be an interesting read for the group. Looking forward to meeting lots of nice people!PatrickThe Device
Thanks for inviting me, Rick. I'm EJ Knapp. My novel Stealing The Marbles was published on September 1st of last year. I have a blog, mostly about writing, that I update fairly regularly. I also do a few book reviews and author interviews. My blog is at http://www.ejknapp.com/ and has more information about me than you could possibly want to know. You can also check out my current novel - sample chapter and book trailer - the next one in line and the one I'm working on now. Looking forward to being here.
Usually I've been pretty good lately at welcoming new members - but I'm fighting a 3/1 deadline and keep going off on tangents, so I'll just give a general:WELCOME TO THE BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN TEXAS!
OOPS, wrong welcome!

Hello everyone. First I want to thank Rick for inviting me to join the group! My name is Charles Sheehan-Miles, I'm a writer, short order cook, former non-profit activist. I don't really know what I want to be when I grow up. What I read: everything. In particular, I love alternate history, historical fiction, tear jerkers, thrillers. I'm pretty undiscriminating, I'm afraid. I enjoyed The Princess Diaries just as much as Tom Clancy, though I think my favorite series ever was Colleen McCullough's Masters of Rome.
What I write these days is alternate futures, politically oriented very near future speculative fiction.
I write terrible book reviews. Mostly just post the book I liked and say something very meaningful like "I enjoyed this book" ... sometimes even shorter. But I very much enjoy reading other people's reviews when I am looking for something to read.
That's me in a nutshell. I'm looking forward to getting to know some of the folks around here!

Hello, group. I'm Robert Morrow, an author of fiction and a voracious reader of nonfiction. You can learn more about me and my stuff at www.ringingtrue.comI'm really here to have a safe place where I can learn and discuss books other than mine! I love Ringing True but I talk and write about it constantly and can use a break every now and then.
My favorite authors include Vonnegut, Dickens, Robert Caro, Pauline Reage and Lagerkvist, though I avoid fiction these days to avoid influence.
I'm originally from San Francisco but now live in the Seattle area where I am currently freezing to death. Here's my last mention of Ringing True:

I just downloaded a bunch of books last night for reading that I want to share with all of you. I am sure that there are lots of people who know about this but for you who do not, here it is:
http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_Page
Most of the classics are there at no cost if you can read off any reader or your computer. I know some people could use the information. I certainly love the site. Used to edit for it for a while.
Enjoy!

Hey people. Just a super-quick intro. I'm Shannon, 25, a teacher. I am obsessed with books and reading. OK, gonna go read now! God, I'm a nerd. =D
Hi Rick and fellow James Mason group members! I'm a research scientist (in genetics) who has recycled myself into a writer (currently short stories, hopefully novels when I grow up!). My first published book, The Meaning of Children, is just out in Canada (Exile Editions). I'm looking for a US & UK agent/publisher (so if you know anyone...:)Katie Hewitt of The Globe & Mail wrote, “This isn’t the invented childhood of imagination and wonderment… [here] children both corrupt and redeem: each other, family relationships and the female body.”
Other recent honours: nominations for the Pushcart Prize (in fiction and nonfiction) and National Magazine Awards, and the 2010 David Adams Richards Prize. Also published in Maclean’s Magazine, The Toronto Star, The National Post, The Montreal Gazette and on CBC Radio One, myriad literary and scientific journals and other publications. It pleases me strangely to believe I'm the only Canadian fiction writer ever to have sequenced her own DNA.

Thank you for inviting me to this group. Hello to everyone. I joined this group a while ago and I thought I posted a response. Anyway, I love to read and now that I have my "Nook" I read so much more! I read more in the summer then in the winter months because I am so busy teaching school. I am looking forward to sharing blogs with everyone’s posts.

Thanks for the invite Rick, I'm a children's author and I'd be happy to share with the other readers
Hello Everyone. Rick, thanks for the invite. My pen name is RYCJ, although occasionally I do sign off by my real name, Rhonda. I am a writer, reader, and indie publisher who loves talking about, and critiquing the various books I read. Looking forward to some great chattin' and more reading!
Hello. I don’t think I ever formally introduced myself to the group. I've lurked a bit and learned a lot from all the discussions. I’m Barbara and I’m from the current winter wonderland of Cleveland. I generally gravitate to the horror and thriller genres. Beyond that, I’m open to reading in other areas if something compelling about the story intrigues me, though I am sometimes weary of new books that are dubbed media darlings. I also feel a ping at times to go back and reread some of my fave classics. Always looking for great future reading recommendations.
In view of the current events in the Middle East the need to change the spontaneous movements, where many innocent lives will be lost, to a full- scale revolution has never been so strong. This will need planning, organizing and executing the plan and it all starts with raising awareness. Those of you who have read my translation of Little Black Fish will recognize that it is a guide to action and shows a path to freedom, equality and justice. If you know any progressive Libyans, Egyptians, Bahrainis, Yemenis, Tunisians, Africans and others who want to make a difference and are in touch with those freedom-fighters, please spread the word. The Little Black Fish
