I never reveal my age now. I stopped having birthdays at the age of 29. Unfortunately my children are good at maths. :)
Hi Rick and thank you for your invite! There is nothing I love more than curling up with a good book and a cup of tea (or a glass of wine) and getting lost in whatever world I'm reading about. Hope to find out about some great books out there and have some great discussions with the group!
Hello all! I just got an invite to come here from Rick. I'd like to say a big thanks, this group looks great! Lets see, about me... I'm currently 22 and a college student (for now, community college is frustrating to say the least). My book choices tend come mostly from YA, Sci-Fi, and Fantasy collections. I've only recently reached a place where I'm interested in branching out a bit to other genres and my first stop so far has been a couple Classics, Historical Fictions and most recently a Historical Romance. I have a bad habit of lurking quietly in the background, but from now on I'm trying to make a concerted effort to be more involved in groups like this. I look forward to chatting about various reads with all of you!

good point Jan! we do have a wonderful range of ages, backgrounds, cultures, sexual orientations ect- that is why -while I welcome a vigorous and diverse discussion- I make every effort to encourage all to remember that their thoughts and opinions are VERY valuable- but to please refrain from any obscenity or inappropriate words- as we do have such a wide ranging group. Every opinion can be stated in a way that need not include curse words or inappropriate terminology- thankfully- we have not had issues so far- it is important to me that this be a welcoming place for all readers- not that EVERYONE AGREE!!! but respect other's opinions!

Hey people. My name is Bonnie and I read too much (or maybe not enough). This seems like a fun group and I cannot wait to partake in discussion. Not only do I love to read, I love to talk about books I am reading (or have read). I do love parentheses. Rick, thank you for the invitation. :)
Hello Bonnie, glad you joined the group!! I love to read too and I am always reading something new everyday!!!
Hello! Thanks for the invite. I am a fan of many genres but mainly erotic romance. My favorite themes are BDSM and menage. I have recently written a few erotica series that had been well received. I love getting recommendations based on my profile. So please get a feel of my kind of books before shooting me random recs. I enjoy spending time in groups that like discussing books, so this looks like a place for me =D
Howdy. I am the Harbinger of Doom and my favorite genre is fantasy. I love anime/manga and that too is mostly fantasy. I love music and I like to write. Platypi freaking rock.
Hello! I'm TJ, thanks Rick for the invite. I love to read and am currently in a fiction phase:). I'm a housewife in a small town so this is and the Internet are my big sources for intertwinement! Hope to see good recommendations on new books.

About the age issue, I'm 74. I just realized that I don't contribute to Classic British discussions, except the original Dracula novel and a few others. I write commercial fiction, paranormal fiction and vampire stories. But I'm listening and learning about many British and classic novels. You're invited to read about one of my pending novels.

Hi! I joined Goodreads recently and this is my first group. I am in Heaven!!! Its so wonderful to see so many people with similar and varied taste in books. I used to be a voracious reader, however, life got in the way and now after 15 years, I am coming back to my first love. Some of my favourite authors are Agatha Christie, P.G. Wodehouse, James Herriot, Jane Austen, and yes, Enid Blyton. No matter how old I get ( and I'm already pretty old), I dont think I'll ever outgrow Enid Blyton. She was sheer genius.

My recently released novels are in the Rainbow's Shadow Trilogy. They are Rainbow’s Shadow and the Tablets of Fate and Rainbow’s Shadow and the Covenant of Wisdom.
I have been fortunate to hit the Best Sellers list with 'Tablets of Fate' and am on track currently with the 'Covenant of Wisdom'.
The final novel in my trilogy is Rainbow’s Shadow and the Other Side of Paradise which is currently in development.
If you have a moment check it out at... www.RainbowsShadow.com

Hello, everybody. My name is Mark, and I'm from Poughkeepsie, New York. I'm looking forward to exploring this group. It looks like a lot of fun. Oh yeah, I LOVE PG Wodehouse!
Thanks to Rick for the invite. I'm a M/M author published at Dreamspinner Press. I love great recs on romance novels.
I'm really late to the Party. Rick invited me a long time ago, but I've been snowed with work. I'm from the UK, but I live in the US. I write either mysteries and crime novels and stories or horror. I'm a big reader with usually one or two books on the go.
Simon
Welcome Mark, Lori and Simon. This group really is a good place to be. I was like you Simon, it took me ages to join after I received the invitation. Now I wish I had joined earlier. :)
One day I should explain to Rick why it took me so long to join. But then again maybe not. He is so nice I wouldn't want to offend him in anyway.

Hi all! [wave:] I'm here because... well, because Rick is very persistent, actually, LOL! I have a story due in 3.5 days, so I don't have time to wander through all the discussions right now, but this seems like an interesting, friendly group.Let's see, I live in Seattle and I write m/m romance and erotica, usually with a fantastical bent -- urban fantasy, SF, paranormal, that sort of thing. I like Terry Pratchett's work, and Neil Gaiman, PG Wodehouse (although I prefer his short stories to his novels) and Jo Beverley, off the top of my head.
Angie
Welcome Angela. Yep Rick is persistent, but in a very nice way. Join in when you can. Best of luck with the story deadline.
Thanks for the invite, Rick. My name is Jen and I love all kinds of books from classics to horror to paranormal romance to classic literature. I'm even a chick who enjoys a good comic book or graphic novel ;) I'll give just about anything a chance. I have 2 kids ages 8 and 5 and hope my love for books rubs off on to them.
I love goodreads.com because I've met awesome people, made great friends and added many more books to my TBR shelf because of all the great reviews and suggestions!
