Susanne Leist (susanneleist) | 3 comments Hi! I'm Susanne Leist and I've just published my book, The Dead Game. I have always loved to read. I've read almost every murder mystery. I've been faced with countless clues and dead bodies over the years. My goal has been to write a book different than any other book that I've ever read. And I believe I have accomplished that goal. My book is a murder mystery with its requisite twists and turns, but it is set against of backdrop of unexplainable phenomena.
I can't give away too much of the plot, but it is a heady roller coaster ride--fun for all!

Mary Dawson | 8 comments I'm the author of "The River Way Home: The Adventures of the Cowboy, the Indian, & the Amazon Queen,” which was recently named best 2013 Florida Adult Fiction and Best 2013 Florida YA Book by the Florida Authors and Publishers Association.

The Tampa Bay Library Consortium describes it as follows:

"Set in the early years of the twentieth century, this lovely story is about Queenie, a young black girl, and her two young male friends, a Seminole Indian and a Florida cracker who get lost on a trip to Lake Okeechobee and have to find their way back. High ratings from the librarian judges in two categories!"

Karin | 1 comments As a publisher, I am delighted to be part of this group. My post is simply an introduction and absolutely not meant of be promotional but it is who I am and what I'm passionate about.

I am Karin Hoffman, CEO of Tendril Press publishing house, a small traditional press with about 30 or so amazing authors (we publish 6-10 titles a year). We are always looking for readers, reviewers, interviews and exposure for our authors. Although we publish thought provoking, inspirational, educational and humanitarian books for adults and children we have a small but growing fiction section.

We are currently launching a new fiction trilogy by award-winning author Paddy Eger. The first book "84 Ribbons" (publication date March 15, 2014) is available for advance reading. Below is a short annotation—

— Marta Selbryth steps into womanhood and onto center stage. We feel the music swell and the moment arrive—for Marta, and ballerinas everywhere. As Marta realizes her dream, life’s challenges off stage are not at all what she anticipated. We walk beside her as she approaches each twist and turn in her new life. A compelling coming-of-age novel, this look inside the world of ballet offers both inspiration and heartbreak.— ***

If this is your area of interest please request free review copy by sending an email to publisher@tendrilpress.com for consideration.

I look forward to hearing what you are reading (and why) and becoming a valuable contributor to this group.

All the best to each of you,
Karin

Peter Glassman (pglassma) | 17 comments As a baby boomer and retired physician I’m devoting my time to writing medical thrillers. My life as an author of fiction began in 2003 after several individuals consistently commented my speeches delivered at Toastmasters International always like captivating stories regardless of the topic. “I should write a book” they all said. My wife encouraged me because she was sick of listening to me rehearsing my speeches.

“What should I write about?” I asked of my supportive spouse.
“Write about your patient from the Navy who brought back a bottle full of human eyes from Vietnam.”
Thus began my string of medical thrillers starting with THE EYEMAN. The sequel to THE EYEMAN, THE DUTY CREW, chronicles the last Christmas Day of the Vietnam War in a Northeast Naval hospital. Like all my novels true lifetime situations is interwoven with suspenseful and intriguing storylines.
I spent most of my life in Massachusetts and schooling leading up to both an MD and PhD in medicine and directed medical research for the last 20 years of my healthcare career with drug development in major pharmaceutical companies.
I love crime drama as attested by WHO WILL WEEP FOR ME and my historical Post-Civil War medical thriller COTTER explores American medicine and justice from 1868-1872. My two terrorism based novels, THE HELIOS RAIN and THE DRUID STONE, are scary because they are based on current events. THE MYOSIN FACTOR details the possible consequences of a cure for Muscular Dystrophy being diverted for military use by anti-US nations. The drug industry itself is fraught with evil and corruption leading to consequences for the prescription user in THE ADJUSTMENT CLINIC.

Sandra Gallimore | 2 comments A warm hello to Rick and all members. I am a woman of many interests and experiences, and the writer of an historical fiction novel based in Britain and Europe. I am from the United States but have been lucky enough to travel and write during my retirement years. I am an old movie buff,( both old, a movie buff and especially old movies!) and of course that makes me a James Mason fan. While he could play any role he made an especially convincing villain. In fact he would be perfect for a couple of characters in my novel, Chronicles of Jongleur, The Storyteller -on Amazon and Kindle. I need reviews as I am an Indie author so I hope I can count on a few members to read and review my book. It is a very different read and, Rick, I think it might interest you and other members as it is the saga of four generations of a family with a deadly secret in 13th century Britain and Europe. This epic is character rich and is the tale of the human condition in a time of terror. You won't forget the heroes or the villains. If any of you are open minded and adventurous this is the book for you! If you read please review-I would love to hear any comments from members.

It is an edgy suspense novel with ghosts, voodoo, a time shifting house and a romance that threads its way through the story. I do not write romance driven stories, rather my romances build within the action. Available at Amazon.com

Savannah Black (SavannahBlack) | 6 comments I wanted to be a writer since I was 12 years old. I remember reading the White Shark (forget who it is by) but I was deeply moved by it and eventually got into sailing due in large part to that book. I now live on my boat in Florida.

I tried several times in my life to write, but the time was not right. Finally 24 years ago I had a major life changing event and rather than acting out in destructive ways, I acted out with pen and a stenographer's note book and my first manuscript was born! I went on from there to today, writing sporadically. Finally, I am back and my writing skills have improved and the stories flow out of me like water from a tap. I do not know what is going to happen until I am putting it into my computer. I write because I have too. I do not have to sell my books to live, but I want to sell to hopefully touch other people with my writing as I have been touched by so many authors. Savannah

Lookman Lookman | 8 comments I have been a member of Goodreads since I first published three books on 2008. Since I have been working as a Film and TV producer bring my books to the screen. It is a world where everything moves at a snails pace. I have written several more books since 2008. I have just started publishing these on kindle as I neither have the time of patience to again follow the literary agent or commissioning editor route.

I have just republished MIHTE'S QUEST [second edition]
Mihte's Quest: Kids in the Underworld
Mihte's Quest Kids in the Underworld by Lookman
This is a Dark Fantasy about a boy who is abducted with his older siblings into the Celtic Underworld. Here he discovers his real identity through his remarkable imagination. They are set on a quest to discover seven lost pearls and then answer a riddle. However the quest goes far beyond that. Jack has to fight for his life and is expected to win a war like the characters in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.
Unlike other fairytales the Mihte series of books are based on the original ancient Druid traditions. However, you can be reassured that the tales are only representative of how the ancients saw primeval forces interacting.

And Published:
MIHTE LUGH'S CHALLENGE
Mihte Lugh's Challenge: Can Jack defeat Balor of the Evil Eye?
Mihte Lugh's Challenge Can Jack defeat Balor of the Evil Eye? by Lookman
Still in the Celtic Underworld Jack is no longer with his brother and sister. He has been in training for for 1,234 days. It is the middle of the night, a strange creature wakes Jack, fights with his bedding, and orders him to attend his master the Oracle. Jack is sent out on the mother of all epic journeys to an island far off in the sky without provisions. This time he is accompanied by his reanimated triplet brothers Haw and Rowan. They face all kinds of unearthly setbacks and picked up Mishca on their way. She immediately becomes Haw's girlfriend. Arriving at their destination only begins another epic adventure to Balor of the Evil Eye's lair.
This book has moved a notch up from the last. You might compare it with Lord of the Rings.

MIHTE LUGH RETURNS: ARTHUR UNMASKED
Mihte Lugh's Return
Mihte Lugh's Return by Lookman
Jack returns home from the Celtic Underworld after three years away and he has not grown a bit. In stead he finds he is in the middle of an emergency - a plague has broken out and the world's governments are taking it seriously. What Jack discovers does not make sense - is it a plague at all? His brothers Haw and Rowan arrive with a complement of houyhnhnms followed by Mishca and they all set about finding out what is going on. More battle, druids and now Sci Fi monsters.

Peter Glassman (pglassma) | 17 comments I'm a retired physician and switched from giving speeches in Toastmaster's International to writing thrillers and crime dramas. I joined amazon.com and create space this year and have published 8 of my novels.

My medical thrillers focus on addictive disorders and stress factors and their resolution: COTTER, THE HELIOS RAIN, THE EYEMAN. Crime drama in WHO WILL WEEP FOR ME and THE ADJUSTMENT CLINIC was my opportunity to relive my past from high school and in the workforce.

Paranormal, fantasy, and adventure are drawn from reality experiences in THE DRUID STONE, THE DUTY CREW and THE MYOSIN FACTOR.

I love attending Writers' Conferences, giving motivational talks and interacting with other inspired albeit not yet widely read authors. When I'm not writing I'm playing the accordion or talking my wife shopping.

Deborah Stevens (andrucc12) | 3 comments CIAO,I joined a few weeks ago and am just getting around to introducing myself. I am still not sure if I fit in this category and you can tell me if I need to be under a different heading.
"THE SERPENT'S DISCIPLE" a fiction thriller set in Italy and involves a secret society/illegal masonic lodge that really existed in 1980 and the Vatican.
The book is all fact except for the prophecy I created and of course the characters.
I am trying to learn all this social media stuff and just discovered I had a rating of 5 stars on Goodreads and a list of others names that are planning on reading my book. I have no idea how that happened. So I am trying to figure out all these things. I have a book trailer that you can watch on YouTube or at my website: www.deborahstevensauthor.com and also more about the book and me.
I finally found my niche in the world at a later age but at least I found what I love to do. So that's my story and will look forward to comments from the group, if this is where I should stay.
Grazie

Lookman Lookman | 8 comments I started writing plays on the radio and then moved onto a millennium book on prophesy.

I published three YA novels in a rush in 2008. I think I should have paid more attention at the time. They were:
CHILDREN FROM THE SEA(Mystery and romance)
HENRI AND THE ALIEN(Comedy adventure)
MIHTE LUGH; KIDS IN THE UNDERWORLD (Dark Fantasy)

Then I dropped out to work on television series for kids and films.

I have just returned to publishing my backlog. I had been indecisive whether to go the eBook or publisher route. Looking at the results for eBooks rising for young adults it was decided for me. I had no time to fluff around with publishers and agents with more pressing demands on my time.

I have just published on kindle:
MIHTE'S QUEST: Kids in the Underworld (2nd Ed.)
MIHTE LUGH'S CHALLENGE: Can Jack Defeat Balor of the Evil Eye(Dark Epic Fantasy)
MIHTE LUGH'S RETURN: Arthur Unmasked (Epic Fantasy, Mystery, Comedy)
JO BADPENNY - The comic life of a master criminal (Comedy, misadventure, bullying)

I published the entire Mihte Series so I can launch and fund a 3D animated feature film called Quest for Mihte Lugh

Have a great day

Thanks for reading

I'm a write of primarily mythic tales, some high fantasy, some rigorous historical work set in ancient times, some science fiction. The titles I'm most proud of are I, the Sun and The Sacred Band. I am the creator of the long-running "Heroes in Hell" shared universe. I run a small publishing company, Perseid Press, that publishes "books for the experienced reader."
